Fantasy Tip: Pearce would give the Indians help at a corner infield spot, third base, now occupied by cold-hitting Juan Uribe. Pearce can also play first base and the outfield, so the move would be versatile if it happened. Monitor where he ends up.

Fantasy Tip: Longo has turned up the intensity in June and July, succeeding offensively even as the rest of his team has struggled. Over the past 10 games he has managed four homers with 10 RBIs, and might be an outstanding addition if he is moved by the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore allowed one unearned run, four hits and four walks over 6 2/3 innings in a win Wednesday, July 27, against the Los Angeles Dodgers to even up his record at 7-7 while lowering his ERA to 4.08.
Fantasy Tip: Moore might be showcasing for other teams leading up to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. He has re-emerged as a solid fantasy option in AL-only leagues and deeper mixed formats, and he'll see an increase if he moves to a contender where wins can be more plentiful.

Tampa Bay Rays RP Alex Colome worked a perfect ninth inning Wednesday, July 27, against the Los Angeles Dodgers for his 22nd save in 23 tries. He rebounded after blowing his first save Saturday, July 23, against the Oakland Athletics.
Fantasy Tip: Colome has emerged as a must-start fantasy closer, and one of the most effective in baseball, despite pitching for one of the worst teams in the league.

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison (forearm) returned to the lineup Wednesday, July 27, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He made a sliding catch in the seventh inning and was lifted right after, but manager Kevin Cash said it was a tactical move.
Fantasy Tip: Morrison was hitless with a strikeout in his return, so maybe fantasy owners should give him another game or two to prove his health before trusting him in the active lineup again.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer allowed three runs -- one earned -- on four hits in seven innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, July 26. He walked none and struck out eight in falling to 5-14 on the year.
Fantasy Tip: After breaking a six-game losing streak last time out, Archer was once again the victim of poor offense and shaky defense, including his own. The ERA and WHIP are middling at best, but you can't argue with 155 strikeouts, which leads the American League. Despite a lack of Ws, Archer should be retained in all leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Avoid LoMo in all daily fantasy formats and DFS play until he can officially return and prove in a game or two that there are no lingering effects of his forearm tendinits.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Cobb (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, July 26, in Port Charlotte, Fla. and reported feeling good. Barring any setbacks, he'll resume a minor-league rehab stint with Class A Charlotte Friday, July 29.
Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain if Cobb will be able to help out at some point this season, but he isn't likely to be relevant in fantasy until the 2017 season.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Steven Souza is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Bud Norris Tuesday, July 26. OF Brandon Guyer will start in right field and is batting seventh, while OF Corey Dickerson will start in left field and is batting fourth.
Fantasy Tip: Sousa is not in the lineup because the team is not allowed to use a designated hitter in a National League stadium. Dickerson should be a decent starting option in some deeper mixed leagues, while Guyer likely only has value in AL-only leagues.

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison (wrist) is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Bud Norris Tuesday, July 26. 1B Steve Pearce will start at first base and is batting fifth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Pearce is hitting .227 with one home run and four RBI over the last seven days. He is still hitting .311 for the season and could be a sleeper option for some owners in daily fantasy leagues.

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison and OF Brandon Guyer are not in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Hahn Sunday, July 24. 1B Steve Pearce will start at first base and is batting sixth. OF Corey Dickerson will start in left field, while OF Oswaldo Arcia will serve as the designated hitter and is hitting sixth.
Fantasy Tip: Pearce has five hits one home run and four RBI since returning from the disabled list and should be a decent option for owners in daily fantasy leagues. Arcia is only hitting .138 this month and should be avoided in most fantasy leagues.
Sun, 24 Jul 2016 06:23:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Arcia is best left to cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues because of his inability to string together consistent production at the dish. Since joining Tampa Bay, he's been seeing enough playing time, but his seven runs, two home runs, seven RBI and .265/.339/.449 slash line don't stop the traffic.
Sun, 24 Jul 2016 06:13:03 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It was the first blip on the radar for Colome, as the Tampa closer has been nearly flawless to date and now sits with a 2.34 ERA and 44 punchouts through 34 2/3 innings. Continue to view Colome as a mid-tier closer worth owning in all fantasy formats.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 15:15:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Arcia is 2-for-26 (.077) this month, and he's not a good option against Kendall Graveman.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 00:38:07 -0700
Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi pitched eight scoreless frames against the Oakland Athletics on Friday, July 22. He allowed five hits, walked no one and struck out five. Odorizzi was not involved in the decision.
Fantasy Tip: After a couple of tough outings to start the month, Odorizzi has rebounded to make back-to-back excellent starts: 14 IP, 12 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 12 K's. Only an equally impressive performance from Oakland's Sean Manaea kept Odorizzi out of the win column on Friday. The right-hander should be owned in all AL-only and deep mixed leagues, and he's an interesting option in standard formats as well.
