Fantasy Tip: Well, after an absolutely dreadful start to the year, Morrison has managed to turn it around in a big way. On May 15, he was saddled with a disastrous .119 batting average, but since then, the 28-year-old has gone 15-for-27 with all three of his homers, as well as 10 RBI over that stretch. Owners in deep leagues should pay attention to see if he can keep it up.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Andriese worked his third quality start in four tries Wednesday, May 25, against the Miami Marlins, as he fired six innings of three-run ball, scattering eight hits and one walk. He also struck out six in the no-decision.
Fantasy Tip: While tonight's performance was nothing spectacular, Andriese is proving to have some value in deeper leagues. Since entering the rotation, he's contributed mostly fine work, and his six strikeouts this evening were a season high. Those who have an opening on the bench in AL-only leagues might want to consider adding him, while mixed league owners should keep him on their radar.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Corey Dickerson and SS Brad Miller are not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins left-handed SP Justin Nicolino Wednesday, May 25. OF Brandon Guyer is the designated and is hitting leadoff again, OF Mikie Mahtook is starting in left field and batting second and SS Taylor Motter is at the 6 and is hitting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Guyer has been a consistent source of production of late (.314-4-10 in May) and is a fine value choice in daily game tonight against Nicolino. Mahtook did manage nine home runs and a .295 average last year and could be a successful deep sleeper given his lineup position. Motter has also earned some more playing time with two home runs in his first 13 major league at-bats. He, however, is more of a desperation low-end selection at shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham has a .185/.241/.352 slash line through 58 plate appearances this season, and Brad Miller projects to handle shortstop going forward. However, it is a touch surprising given the lack of alternative options at the 6 behind Miller. Still, Beckham can be dropped in the majority of seasonal leagues since he was hardly fantasy relevant in the first place.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison has been playing better later with at least one hit in seven of his last eight games and five hits in his last three games. Morrison should be a decent option in daily fantasy leagues during his hot streak but can still be avoided in most leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Colome has pitched well while filling in as the closer and has not allowed a run in any of his last 10 outings. Colome is expected to return to his setup position when Brad Boxberger is activated from the disabled list but should still have value in most fantasy leagues.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi pitched five scoreless innings against the Miami Marlins Tuesday, May 24, to record his second win of the season. He allowed two hits, while striking out seven batters and walking three.
Fantasy Tip: Odorizzi has not pitched more than five innings in any of his last three starts but has won each of his last two starts. He is scheduled to face the New York Yankees in his next start and should be a decent starting option in some mixed leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson is hitting just .132 this month, but he has eight homers and 18 RBI. He's a fringe option right now against Tom Koehler in DFS.
Mon, 23 May 2016 21:04:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Motter has gone 4-for-13 with two home runs and five RBI since being recalled from the minor leagues. Motter likely will not receive a lot of starts moving forward but can be an option in daily fantasy leagues when he plays.
Mon, 23 May 2016 20:47:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Guyer has received more playing time over the last few weeks and has seven hits in his last three games. Guyer should be an attractive starting candidate in daily fantasy leagues and could be used in some deeper mixed leagues.

Fantasy Tip: You can likely drop Kiermaier in any mixed formats if you owned him. Mikie Mahtook is starting in Kiermaier's place in center field Monday, and Brandon Guyer could remain an everyday player with an outfield spot open. Guyer, who has been producing with regular playing time, should be an option for outfield depth in deep mixed leagues. He's been hitting leadoff often, too, which maximizes his value. Mahtook is strictly a cheap flier in AL-only leagues.

Tampa Bay Rays SS Brad Miller and OFs Desmond Jennings and Corey Dickerson are not in the starting lineup Monday, May 23. SS Taylor Motter is at the 6 and is hitting seventh, while OF Brandon Guyer is starting in left field and batting leadoff against Miami Marlins SP Wei-Yin Chen.
Fantasy Tip: The Rays lose the DH playing in a National League park this week, so Dickerson could be out again tomorrow. Guyer has taken advantage of his increased opportunities this month and is batting .306 with three home runs and nine RBI. He's a fine value play in daily formats. Motter is a low-end shortstop option.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer said his rough outing Sunday, May 22, was caused by failing to execute pitches within the strike zone. "In the past, I haven't been in the strike zone enough," Archer said. "Today was a different outcome why I gave up runs."
Fantasy Tip: While Sunday's outing was a setback, Archer should still end up being a major fantasy asset this year. He makes a nice buy-low candidate.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer saw his five-game unbeaten streak come to an end on Sunday, May 22, surrendering a season-high tying six runs on eight hits in just three frames in a loss at the Detroit Tigers.
Fantasy Tip: Archer, who had nearly lowered his ERA three runs to 4.38 following his four-game losing streak to begin the season prior to this outing, gave up at least one run in every inning he worked Sunday. The 27-year-old has made his last four starts on the road and has to be anxious to return to Tropicana Field, where he has posted a 2.35 ERA this season. He'll get that chance in his next scheduled start on Friday against the New York Yankees.

Fantasy Tip: Time is running out for owners to snag Pearce off the waiver wire, as he is batting .353 in May. His .312 average, seven homers and 18 RBI are certainly playable at first base in fantasy, but it is his second-base eligibility in most leagues that will make him a difference-maker. Pearce has been batting cleanup in the middle of the order on a regular basis for an underrated Tampa Bay offense for a while now and finally looks primed to deliver on the talent that once made him a top prospect around 10 years ago.
