Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Cobb (forearm) will play catch from 90 feet Saturday, April 18, and he said the tendonitis in his right forearm is gone. He doesn't know when he'll resume throwing bullpen sessions.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) might not be ready to join the rotation for another month or so, and you may want to avoid him initially at FantasyScore. Matt Andriese ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) could continue to see starts in the rotation as a result, although he's a lukewarm fantasy pitching option in the interim.
Fri, 17 Apr 2015 14:14:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Andriese ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has had a decent start to the season, gooing 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA and three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings over one start. However, he won't light up the stat line with strikeouts, and he'll be a weak play at FantasyScore against the Yanks.

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (hip) is serving as the designated hitter and batting fourth in the lineup against New York Yankees SP Adam Warren Friday, April 17. 2B Logan Forsythe is starting at third base and batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Longoria ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) was hit by a pitch and had to leave the game early Thursday. He hopes to return to third base Saturday. He should be a fine third base option for FantasyScore owners while going up against Warren and the Yanks.
Fri, 17 Apr 2015 09:03:33 -0700
Fantasy Tip: If Longoria ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) plays tonight, he should be a fine option for your FantasyScore lineups against New York Yankees starter Adam Warren.
Thu, 16 Apr 2015 21:13:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Longoria ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is off to a slow start, and now that he is dealing with an injury, there is no reason to take a chance on him at FantasyScore until he has delivered a couple of solid performances at the plate.
Thu, 16 Apr 2015 19:58:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Archer ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) is now 2-1 on the year with a 1.37 ERA, and he is showing signs of becoming an ace. Continue to start Archer at FantasyScore until his hot start comes to an end.
Thu, 16 Apr 2015 17:27:14 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kiermaier ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has four doubles, one triple and two home runs in 28 at-bats through nine games. In a ridiculously small sample-size, Kiermaier has an ISO of .429, which should start regressing toward his .187 mark of last season. Kiermaier is striking out nearly half as often as he did last season while also walking at a slightly higher rate. If those two trends continue, Kiermaier will be a valuable fantasy asset even after the power surge.

Tampa Bay Rays RP Jake McGee (elbow) pitched an inning in an extended spring game Thursday, April 16. Manager Kevin Cash said it went well and the organization will determine the next step in McGee's rehab Friday, April 17.
Fantasy Tip: In McGee's absence, Brad Boxberger has fared well in the closer role, and there is a chance McGee doesn't return and immediately take over the ninth-inning job. McGee is worth stashing, and Boxberger remains a solid source for saves in all formats. Continue to check back for updates on McGee's recovery and return timeline.

Fantasy Tip: Franklin will be a low-end 2B option on FantasyScore when he returns.
Thu, 16 Apr 2015 07:47:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cobb is probably a month away from returning at least. Monitor his progress, and he'll be a daily SP consideration on FantasyScore.
Thu, 16 Apr 2015 07:42:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: McGee could be back in a couple weeks, but the team will likely ease him in. Brad Boxberger has been lights out with three saves and seven K's in 4 1/3 innings. McGee isn't guaranteed to be the closer, but he could figure in the mix in the near future.

Fantasy Tip: Colome, who is making his way back from a bout with pneumonia, was in the running for fifth-starter duties before he fell ill in spring training. Itís uncertain if heíll get the chance when he is well, but at least Erasmo Ramirez has been horrible filling in.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer is the probable starter for Thursday, April 16, against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. He has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 14 straight road outings dating back to May 14. He is tied for the club record with former SP Jeremy Hellickson.
Fantasy Tip: Archer ($6,100; 12.2% of cap) has a favorable matchup against Torontoís Aaron Sanchez ($4,300; 8.6% of cap), who lasted just 3 ⅓ innings in his first-career start in Baltimore April 11. FantasyScore owners would be wise to target Archer until he cools off on the road.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 21:46:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Itís good to see the former Durham Bulls standout Mahtook ($1,600; 3.2% of cap) doing well. However, he isnít worth using in FantasyScore unless Brandon Guyer ($1,900; 3.8% of cap), Desmond Jennings ($2,800; 5.6% of cap), Kevin Kiermaier ($2,300; 4.6% of cap) or Steven Souza ($3,100; 6.2% of cap) go down with a long-term injury.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 21:45:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Souza has been everything as advertised so far, emerging as the most dangerous offensive weapon for the offensively-challenged Rays. At just $3,100 (or 6.2% of cap) he is a solid mid-level play in FantasyScore.
