Fantasy Tip: Iwakuma ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) has lasted only 16.1 innings pitched across three starts this season. Iwakuma has one loss on the season and an inflated 6.61 ERA. A 27.8% home run to fly ball ratio can take a large portion of the blame for Iwakuma's poor start, and owners should keep him stashed.

Fantasy Tip: With Iwakuma on the shelf, Roenis Elias would seem like the most logical choice to take his spot in the rotation. Elias finished with a 3.85 ERA last year, and if he is recalled, he could be worth a look at FantasyScore depending on the matchup.

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison has a .200 batting average on balls in play in the first month, which ranks among the worst in the majors. His career BABIP is .280 in six seasons. Opponents regularly shift on Morrison, though, since he is a dead-pull hitter. He faced similar shifts in 2014, though, and had a .345 BABIP in his final 51 games with a slash line of .321/.372/.506.
Fantasy Tip: Morrison ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) definitely has been unfortunate to start the 2015 season, going 9-for-51 (.176) with no home runs or RBI. His fortune will turn eventually, but he may never be more than a midrange first base option at FantasyScore, based on right-handed pitching matchups.

Fantasy Tip: Cano ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) should be a daily consideration at second base for your FantasyScore lineups, especially when he's in a groove at the plate.

Fantasy Tip: Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) faces a tough matchup in McHugh tonight. The Astros pitcher is off to a great start to the year and has pitched remarkably well at Safeco Field in his young career. A spot atop the lineup makes Ackley intriguing to those at FantasyScore that want to zig when others zag tonight.

Fantasy Tip: Walker ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) is a risk/reward FantasyScore selection tonight against the Houston Astros. Houston is a very strikeout-prone team, but they also can go deep with the best of them. Walker is a sleeper play if you're looking to go against the grain. Hey, at least he'll be in a pitcher's park this evening.

Fantasy Tip: He has allowed four earned runs in each start and served up five homers in 16 1/3 innings. He's slated for a good matchup against the Minnesota Twins in his next start, but at $6,300 (12.6% of your cap), we aren't too comfortable using him on FantasyScore yet.

Seattle Mariners SP James Paxton suggested his mechanics were off and that he was "too rotational" after struggling in his second straight start Sunday, April 19. He allowed seven runs and nine hits in just 2 2/3 innings against the Texas Rangers. However, manager Lloyd McClendon refused to blame poor mechanics on Paxton's outing.
Fantasy Tip: Paxton ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA and 1.47 WHIP and 12 strikeouts in 15 innings in his two 2015 starts. You'll want to avoid him at FantasyScore until he gets things turned around.

Seattle Mariners OF Nelson Cruz was named the American League Player of the Week after hitting six home runs and knocking in 10 runs in six games. Cruz ended the week with two home runs and five RBI Sunday, April 19. Cruz was 12-for-24 overall in the week.
Fantasy Tip: Cruz ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is en fuego and can't be ignored at FantasyScore right now while he's swinging a hot stick. He'll yet again be a strong start in daily games tonight against the Houston Astros and Asher Wojciechowski.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 20:46:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cruz ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) currently leads the majors with eight homers, and all eight have come in his last eight games. For the price, he is a no-brainer addition to FantasyScore lineups while he is on his power binge.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 11:11:02 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Nelson Cruz ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) will start in right field and Justin Ruggiano ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will start in left field because Seattle is facing a left-handed pitcher. Cruz already has six home runs this season and is a bargain on FantasyScore, while Ruggiano has struggled at the plate during the first two weeks of the regular season.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 11:10:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The light-hitting Mike Zunino ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is receiving his first day off this season. Sucre ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is the least expensive catching option available on FantasyScore and is attractive to owners who would prefer to sink their cap money into other positions.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 11:08:07 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Bloomquist ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is filling in for Brad Miller ($2,400, 4.8% of cap), who is being given the day off. FantasyScore owners should be able to find better options for a comparable price.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 05:34:11 -0700
Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez (quadriceps, ankle) struck out 12 batters through seven innings to win his second game of the season over the Texas Rangers Saturday, April 18. Hernandez allowed a single earned run on two hits and two walks.
Fantasy Tip: Hernandez ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) eased any injury concern for his seasonal owners, and those who spent up for him in daily contests were rewarded handsomely. FantasyScore players should continue to view King Felix as a top-tier starter, and against inferior lineups, he has contest-winning upside. He proved it Saturday.
Sat, 18 Apr 2015 16:41:42 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Nelly ($4,100, 8.2% of your cap) can carry a fantasy team during these streaks and is at a dirt-cheap price on FantasyScore.
