San Francisco Giants OF Jarrett Parker and 3B Conor Gillaspie are not in the starting lineup against Cincinnati Reds SP Cody Reed Tuesday, July 26. OF Mac Williamson will start in right field and is batting third. 2B Ramiro Pena will start at third base, while 2B Grant Green will start at second base and is batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Williamson is hitting .293 with four home runs and 11 RBI this month and can be an attractive option for owners in daily fantasy leagues. Grant is hitting .300 in his limited playing time this season but is still not a great fantasy option.

Fantasy Tip: Belt was dropped to sixth in the batting order prior to this game. Whether the change worked or Belt was long overdue for a breakout remains to be seen, but Belt may have shaken off some of the rust. Give him a flyer in daily and regular formats.

San Francisco 3B Matt Duffy (Achilles') ran curves Monday, July 25, and is "over the hump" in terms of his Achilles' pain. Duffy might begin a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend.
Fantasy Tip: Duffy was struggling before his injury, but he is worth scooping up and stashing away if available off the waiver wire. He hit .295 with 28 doubles, 12 homers and 77 RBIs, and he is a must-have when healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Duffy's been out over a month, so this is good news for his progress. If he's able to begin his minor league rehab assignment this weekend, that may put him on track for an early-August return. However, he's been a little disappointing this season after how well he fared in his first full campaign a year ago. Duffy is hitting just .253 with four homers and 21 RBI in 70 games.

Fantasy Tip: Panik has been sidelined since the end of June, but fortunately, it looks like he's coming close to a return. The Giants could certainly use his bat in the lineup again, as they've been struggling since the All-Star break. Panik is only slashing .256/.321/.407 on the year in 70 ballgames, but he hit over .300 in each of his previous two seasons in the majors. He's worth scooping up.

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt was dropped to sixth in the batting order against Cincinnati Reds SP Anthony DeSclafani Monday, July 25. OF Jarrett Parker is starting in right field and is batting third.
Fantasy Tip: The All-Star break wasn't beneficial to Belt, as he has just two hits in 33 at-bats (.061) since July 15 with 17 strikeouts. The Giants are likely trying to put less pressure on him to break the slump, and you may want to avoid him where you can until he rebounds. Parker has decent pop with five home runs and 11 RBI in 106 at-bats and profiles as an under-the-radar value pick tonight in DFS.

San Francisco Giants SP Jeff Samardzija fell to 1-2 over his last six starts Sunday, July 24, versus the New York Yankees, surrendering five runs on eight hits while only striking out three across 5 2/3 innings.
Fantasy Tip: Samardzija hasn't been the same since throwing a four-hitter on June 17, allowing nine homers while posting a 7.29 ERA since. His next next matchup doesn't figure to get any easier either - Friday versus the Washington Nationals and ace Max Scherzer. That start might be a good time for owners to reintroduce Samardzija to the bench, at least until he can return a more favorable result.

Fantasy Tip: Panik likely will need to go on a rehab assignment before he is cleared to play again, so he is still probably a few weeks away from returning. Panik posted solid numbers when he was healthy and will be a decent option in mixed leagues when he returns to the lineup.
Sun, 24 Jul 2016 09:09:43 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Williamson has recorded at least one hit in five of his last seven games and has three home runs and seven RBI during that span. He can be a sleeper option for owners in daily fantasy leagues, and owners in deeper mixed leagues could consider him if he continues to see solid playing time.
Sun, 24 Jul 2016 09:09:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Posey is receiving a day off from playing in the field but will see his normal at-bats and should be starting in all leagues. Brown has recorded five hits and two RBI over the last three games and should be an attractive option in two-catcher leagues.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 18:05:46 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The game went 12 innings, and closer Santiago Casilla had already thrown two scoreless frames. Strickland can be left on the waiver wire for now, but keep his name in mind if something happens to Casilla.

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey (foot) will start at catcher and bat fourth against New York Yankees SP Ivan Nova Saturday, July 23. Posey left the game Friday, July 22, after fouling a ball off his left foot, but X-rays were negative.
Fantasy Tip: Posey hasn't recorded a hit in four career at-bats against Nova, but he's still one of the most consistent catching plays night in and night out. It remains to be seen if he'll be hampered by the foot ailment, but he should still be started in seasonal leagues.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 10:27:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Williamson only brings a .237 average into today's contest, but he has played well during the Giants' road trip so far. He has a long ball and four runs batted in in his last two games, including a pinch-hit RBi double last night. Williamson is worth a look as a cheap outfield play in daily contests.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 10:19:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Parker had a good game yesterday, drawing two walks and scoring a run as the DH. He's not a bad buy-low option in daily formats facing a right-handed pitcher in a park that caters to left-handed hitters with good power.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 08:55:29 -0700
San Francisco Giants SP Johnny Cueto will be the starting pitcher against the New York Yankees Saturday, July 23. SP Jeff Samardzija was originally scheduled to start Saturday but will now start Sunday, July 24.
Fantasy Tip: Cueto has allowed at least four runs in three of his last four starts but still has a 2.64 ERA this season. He should be a fine starting candidate in most fantasy leagues Saturday.
