San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak in which he's batting .410 (16-for-39) with four home runs, 16 RBI and a 1.262 OPS. In his career against New York Mets SP Jon Niese, who he faces Monday, July 6, Posey is 8-for-22 with a home run.
Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) has a slash line of .262/.318/.443 with just two of his 14 home runs against left-handers this year. However, he's still one of the safest catcher plays, and his history against Niese is encouraging.

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin and Milwaukee Brewers OF Gerardo Parra have caught the attention of the San Francisco Giants as they look to upgrade their outfield. Giants outfielders have just 12 home runs all season.
Fantasy Tip: Both Maybin ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) and Parra ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) are having fine seasons and have made their fantasy owners very happy. Maybin is the more valuable because of his mix of speed and power, but Parra has been a very nice value play on FantasyScore himself with Khris Davis on the DL. Both outfielders would likely lose a little fantasy luster with a move to San Fran and their pitching-friendly home environment. Also, their playing time might become cloudy once Nori Aoki and Hunter Pence return from injury.

Fantasy Tip: Pence ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) will need more time to recuperate, so feel free to stash him in fantasy leagues and wait for him to recover.

Fantasy Tip: Duffy ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is getting a day off after six straight games at third base this week. Adrianza carries little track record and therefore should be avoided until one is established.

Fantasy Tip: Maxwell ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) looks like he's getting a regular night off because of Blanco's hot bat. Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has a .444 average and a .333 mark against right-handed pitchers, and the Nationals have Jordan Zimmermann going Sunday. Give Blanco a try in FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Pagan ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) doesn't have a lot of upside with knee woes on top of a meager .269-0-19 line this season. Avoid him on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) has been an RBI machine lately, driving in 16 over his last nine games. If you want to pay up for an elite catcher at FantasyScore, Posey is the player to invest in.

San Francisco Giants SP Jake Peavy (back) took the loss in his first start since being activated from the disabled list, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out in 6 1/3 innings against the Washington Nationals Friday, July 3.
Fantasy Tip: Peavy ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) had struggled in his first two starts of the year before landing on the DL, but he turned in his best performance of the year Friday. He was actually solid with the Giants at the end of last season, but with his best years well behind him, Peavy is likely to be inconsistent from one start to the next and a risky option at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Sergei Romo projects to receive the majority of save opportunities while Casilla is recovering from arm fatigue. Although, Javier Lopez is also in the equation. Saves chasers will want to target Romo first, as he has more fleeting value. Continue to check back for updates on Casilla.

Fantasy Tip: Susac ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is hitting fifth against lefty Gio Gonzalez. Susac is hitting .344 in 32 at-bats against lefties this season. He's a prime bargain play on FantasyScore today.
Fri, 03 Jul 2015 10:58:33 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Peavy ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) faces a talented Washington Nationals lineup and doesn't have a lot of upside on FantasyScore. Hudson isn't worth stashing except maybe in NL-only leagues if you have the space.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) showed no ill effects from taking a ball off his mask Wednesday. Posey is the class of the catcher position, but FantasyScore owners need to pick the right matchups before investing at such a high price.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 16:34:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) hadn't hit a home run since May 16, but he's been able to contribute via a high batting average and scoring runs. Blanco can be considered whenever he starts against a right-handed pitcher.

San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain (elbow) made his first start of the season Thursday, July 2, against the Miami Marlins and struggled a bit, going five innings and surrendering five runs on seven hits, including two home runs, while striking out two and walking four.
Fantasy Tip: Overall, it wasn’t a good return to the mound for Cain ($4,300, 8.6% of cap), though he was pitching just fine until a troubling fifth inning when the Marlins tagged him for four of their five runs on the day. Despite the off outing, Cain is absolutely still worth a speculative add at the very least, and he still could be a solid option on FantasyScore based on the matchups, especially when he’s working from home in pitcher-friendly San Francisco. The 30-year-old amassed an impressive 55 wins over a four-year stretch from 2009-2012 and can still be useful for fantasy rotations if he remains healthy.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 09:09:33 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lincecum probably won't have a rotation spot to return to, barring another injury. He can be dumped in most formats. Matt Cain ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) takes his spot, but he's a watch list guy right now.
