San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey will remain the team's catcher for the foreseeable future, according to manager Bruce Bochy. Bochy noted a future move to first base would be more likely than third base.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco Giants C/1B Buster Posey (hip) was out of the lineup Wednesday, Aug. 20, against the Chicago Cubs after his left hip flared up in the game Tuesday, Aug. 19. He received treatment and is available off the bench. Manager Bruce Bochy said he hopes Posey can return Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Fantasy Tip: Daily fantasy owners will want to be careful and wait to see Posey prove his health in one full game before plugging him back into the active lineup.

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt (concussion) had an examination Wednesday, Aug. 20, and he was informed it will be at least two to three more weeks until he is cleared to do any physical activity.
Fantasy Tip: The clock is ticking, and time is not on Belt's side. He might be able to return for a week or two of the regular season, but even that is debatable at this point. If you have the roster flexibility, hang onto him if you have waited this long. Fantasy owners who have limited roster space available might want to chance it and cut him for someone who can help now.

Fantasy Tip: Panik has seized the starting second base job, and he has emerged as a solid fantasy option in most NL-only leagues and deeper mixed formats. He entered the game Wednesday with three straight multi-hit efforts.

The San Francisco Giants won a protest filed on the lack of continued efforts by the Chicago Cubs to dry the field Tuesday, Aug. 19. After a four hour and 34 minute delay the game was called, with the Cubs rewarded a 2-0 win. However, the Giants protested and won, and the game will now be resumed Thursday, Aug. 21 at 4 p.m. before the regularly scheduled game, according to a source. The Giants are the first team in 28 years to win an MLB protest.
Fantasy Tip: It will be interesting to see how fantasy leagues, particularly daily formats, handle the situation. Ryan Vogelsong was rewarded with a complete game loss after working five innings, but with the game resuming, and Vogelsong unlikely to take the ball Thursday, that likely will be changed. It is a unique situation for sure.
