Fantasy Tip: The left-handed hitting Howard hardly plays against southpaws anymore, yet has logged a lot of at-bats this month despite the production of Tommy Joseph so far. Manager Pete Mackanin is reportedly very committed to maintaining a timeshare between the two, but Howard doesn't have a multi-hit game this month and really isn't giving his skipper much of a reason to keep trotting him out there. Expect Joseph to start logging more at-bats against right-handers at Howard's expense in the near future.

Philadelphia Phillies OF Tyler Goeddel is not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks Saturday, May 28. OF David Lough will start in left field and is hitting seventh in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Lough has only two hits and one RBI over his last eight games and probably can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Appel is a 24-year-old right-hander who was selected with the first overall pick in the 2013 MLB draft by the Houston Astros but has not lived up to expectations. He is 3-3 with a 4.46 ERA in eight starts this year, with 20 walks and 34 strikeouts over 38 1/3 innings. Appel is not worth monitoring outside of NL-only fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Given the Phils' lack of depth in the outfield, Asche could be poised to see a decent amount of playing time once he returns from the disabled list, making him worthy of consideration for NL-only leagues. Hollands is a 27-year-old left-handed reliever coming back from Tommy John surgery who possesses little fantasy value in any format.

Fantasy Tip: Morgan allowed three homers in Friday's loss and has dropped three consecutive decisions, with six or more runs allowed in two of his last three outings. He should be viewed as a very risky fantasy option in his next scheduled start at home against the Washington Nationals Wednesday, June 1.
Fri, 27 May 2016 08:20:13 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Franco had to leave Wednesday's game early after spraining his right ankle, so this is fantastic news that he's able to play in the team's next contest. With just a .260/.303/.445 line, the 23-year-old phenom is due to put up some big numbers in the weeks ahead after teasing such a huge impact all throughout spring training.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera is batting .341 with three home runs and eight RBI through 85 at-bats this month. He should be viewed as a viable option in DFS and is a worthwhile player to own for seasonal teams looking for batting average help.

Fantasy Tip: Although Nola didn't have his best stuff Wednesday, he still earned the win thanks to a rare instance of a Phillies starting pitcher receiving a decent amount of run support. His next scheduled start will come against the Washington Nationals Tuesday, May 31.

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (ankle) said he will play Friday, May 27, after he sprained his right ankle against the Detroit Tigers Wednesday, May 25. Manager Pete Mackanin said the team will be cautious with Franco and evaluate him before a series against the Chicago Cubs. Franco went 2-for-4 Wednesday and has nine hits in his last 24 at-bats.
Fantasy Tip: Franco has eight home runs on the season despite a mediocre .254 average. He appears to be heating up at the plate, though, and he's a serious candidate to reach 30 home runs in his first full big league season. Get him back into your starting lineups if he's ready to go Friday night.
Wed, 25 May 2016 12:33:57 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The injury didn't look too bad, as Franco was limping after sliding into second base against the Detroit Tigers. Check back for updates on the young slugger's condition to see if he'll miss any time. If Franco is sidelined for a stretch, Andres Blanco or Emmanuel Burriss could take over at third base. Neither would be attractive fantasy options.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco doesn't offer owners much upside with the stick. He's batting .264 with one home run and seven RBI and is a deep sleeper that'll probably disappoint hitting lower in the batting order.

Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson fell to 4-3 after losing to the Detroit Tigers in his start Tuesday, May 24. He was solid, though, working seven efficient innings in which he allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk. He also struck out seven batters.
Fantasy Tip: Hellickson has quietly gone on a run as of late, as this registered as his third straight quality start. In the process, the former Tampa Bay Ray brought his ERA down to a more respectable 3.97. While he doesn't garner most of the attention on the Philadelphia pitching staff, he could be worth streaming in the weeks ahead. He's a fine source for strikeouts, too, with 57 K's in 56 2/3 total innings this season.
Tue, 24 May 2016 13:34:43 -0700
Fantasy Tip: This is merely the Ruiz half of the platoon getting a chance to play in a game. Although Ruiz is .294-2-4 in away games, he still carries little fantasy value in all formats because of the platoon situation and the low numbers this month (7-for-33, .212 average in May).
Mon, 23 May 2016 20:41:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Herrera has picked up at least one hit in 15 of the 20 games this month and currently has a .335 batting average this season. He is an attractive option for owners looking for batting average help, but owners will need to see if he will be benched for a game because of his lack of hustle.
Mon, 23 May 2016 19:55:53 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Herrera was playing well but was still removed from the game. There is a chance that he could sit out the next game, so owners in daily fantasy leagues will need to check the lineup. He entered Monday's game with a .335 batting average and should be a fine starting option when he plays.
