 Phillies | Ibanez to undergo surgery Todd Zolecki, of MLB.com, reports Philadelphia Phillies OF Raul Ibanez (sports hernia) will undergo surgery Monday, Nov. 9, to repair a sports hernia. Phillies | Lidge to undergo surgery Updating a previous report, Todd Zolecki, of MLB.com, reports Philadelphia Phillies RP Brad Lidge (elbow) will undergo surgery Wednesday, Nov. 11, to remove a loose body in his right elbow. He will also have his right flexor/pronator tendon evaluated during the surgery. If the tendon needs to be repaired, he likely would not be ready for the start of spring training but should be ready a short time after. He should be ready for spring training if his tendon does not be repaired. Phillies | No health problems revealed on Hamels' exit physical Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said that SP Cole Hamels' exit physical revealed no health problems that might have contributed to his subpar season, according to David Murphy of the Philadelphia Daily News. Pitching coach Rich Dubee is expected to talk to Hamels about his offseason routine and how to better prepare his body during a second consecutive year with a short layoff. Phillies | Lidge may need to undergo minor elbow surgery Philadelphia Phillies CL Brad Lidge (elbow) may need to undergo minor arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow, according to David Murphy of the Philadelphia Daily News. Lidge experienced occasional pain in the elbow during the season, which could have been caused by loose bone fragments. Lidge is expected to be ready for spring training regardless of whether or not surgery is performed. Phillies | Moyer may undergo left knee surgery The Philadelphia Daily News' David Murphy reports that Philadelphia Phillies SP Jamie Moyer (knee) will be examined by a team doctor and could require arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, according to general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. Phillies | Martinez, Cairo become free agents Philadelphia Phillies SP Pedro Martinez and IF Miguel Cairo have filed for free agency, according to The Sports Network. Phillies | Eyre undergoes surgery The Associated Press reports Philadelphia Phillies RP Scott Eyre (elbow) underwent surgery to remove "floating bodies" in his left elbow Friday, Nov. 6. Eyre said he will either pitch for the team next year or retire. Phillies | Myers won't be back Jim Salisbury, of The Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Phillies RP Brett Myers said he will not be back with the team in 2010. Myers has been told that the team will not try to negotiate a new deal with him in the offseason. He said he will be filing for free agency Friday, Nov. 6. Myers is open to working as a starter or reliever with a new team.
