Updating a previous report, Todd Zolecki, of MLB.com, reports Philadelphia Phillies RP Brad Lidge (elbow) will undergo surgery Wednesday, Nov. 11, to remove a loose body in his right elbow. He will also have his right flexor/pronator tendon evaluated during the surgery. If the tendon needs to be repaired, he likely would not be ready for the start of spring training but should be ready a short time after. He should be ready for spring training if his tendon does not be repaired.

Pitching coach Rich Dubee is expected to talk to Hamels about his offseason routine and how to better prepare his body during a second consecutive year with a short layoff.
