Updating a previous report, Samantha Newman, of MLB.com, reports New York Yankees SP Joba Chamberlain (shoulder) threw 45 pitches during a bullpen session Thursday, Aug. 28, and said his arm strength has continued to progress. Chamberlain also stated that his slider was improved. He is scheduled to throw 35 pitches to hitters during batting practice Saturday, Aug. 30. He said he feels he would be able to pitch in a game as early as next week if everything goes according to plan Saturday. However, he is unsure if his first game back would be as a starter.
