Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) will not be ready to start in Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Bruce Arians. The team is hoping that Stanton can be ready to play in the team's first playoff game, whether it's in the wild card or divisional round. Stanton had some swelling in his right knee after a practice last week, but the swelling went down quickly.
Fantasy Tip: Logan Thomas ($5,555) will start for the Cardinals against the Niners, but he should be ignored in all fantasy football leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas has only attempted nine passes this season but his only completion went for an 81-yard touchdown earlier in the season. Owners on FantasyScore probably should avoid using Thomas this week.

Fantasy Tip: Fitzgerald had four receptions for 33 yards in Week 16 and has not posted more than 34 yards in his last four games. Fitzgerald is a risky option on FantasyScore because of his injury and the team's uncertainty at quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton likely will not be able to play in Week 17, but the team is hoping he will able to return for the playoffs. Logan Thomas appears to be the leading candidate to start this week, but owners should be able to find a better option.

Arizona Cardinals QB Logan Thomas could be the starting quarterback for Week 17, but head coach Bruce Arians has not made a decision. Arians said he is leaning toward Thomas for the start. Arians said things could change if Thomas does not practice well this week and that Thomas would be on a short leash if he receives the start.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas only attempted one pass in the team's Week 16 game but may be the starter this week. He will be playing a solid San Francisco 49ers defense in Week 17 and may not be the best option to use on FantasyScore.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald will be with the team for at least another season, according to general manager Steve Keim. Keim said the team has already "baked" Fitzgerald's $23.6 million cap hit in their 2015 financials. "We have to make good business decisions," Keim said. "I don't think it's any secret that we said all along that it's our intent to have Larry Fitzgerald retire a Cardinal." Fitzgerald is scheduled to make $16.25 million next season, but he could still be traded or rework his contract.
Fantasy Tip: Fitzgerald has lost a step as he ages, and he's no longer an elite receiver or a WR1 for fantasy football. For FantasyScore purposes, you should continue to look to avoid him in Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers with Ryan Lindley or Logan Thomas at the helm.

Fantasy Tip: Fitzgerald has been pretty quiet over the last three games and is facing a Seattle Seahawks defense in Week 16 that has allowed the fewest points to opposing wide receivers this season. Fitzgerald costs $5,400 on FantasyScore, but owners should avoid using him this week.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has posted two straight solid performances and should continue to see plenty of touches because of the team's quarterback situation but will be facing a tough Seattle Seahawks defense. Williams costs $4,400 on FantasyScore and is a weak option for owners.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan Lindley will be the team's starting quarterback this week with Logan Thomas possibly also receiving some playing time. Lindley only costs $3,600 on FantasyScore but should not be an option for owners.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has been rushed for 175 on 5.1 yards per carry over the past two games, but he faces a tough test against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16 and should be probably be avoided.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton still isn't expected to return for a few more weeks, and in the meantime, fantasy owners will want to avoid all members of Arizona's passing attack, especially against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16.
