Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald will end career in desert

Tue, 17 Jul 2018 11:15:17 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald made it clear Tuesday, July 17, that as long as he is playing professional football he will be playing for the Cardinals. "I've built a good life for myself down there. Playing in the same place for 15 years is a true blessing."

Fantasy Tip: Playing one's whole career - especially one as long as Fitzgerald's - is indeed rare in the modern NFL. Fitz hasn't lost a step either. At 34 years old he has averaged 108.3 catches for 1,131.3 yards and 7.0 touchdowns over the last three seasons. He's a solid PPR WR1 candidate even with a new quarterback and coaching staff.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald could play longer

Tue, 17 Jul 2018 06:19:41 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald hinted that he isn't close to retiring. He still feels good, enjoys the competition and loves being around his teammates. He also said he's either playing for the Cardinals or retiring. "It doesn't really matter about the age, it's about what you put into it and your mindset," Fitzgerald said. "Everybody kind of takes numbers and assumes this is when it's supposed to end. As an athlete, fortunately, you write your own script. If you still produce and you play at a high level, you kind of determine how long you want to play. If I can stay at a high level, I still keep destiny in my own hands."

Fantasy Tip: Fitz has tallied 100 catches and 1,000 yards in each of the last three seasons, and only Antonio Brown has matched that feat. He'll be 35 in August, but he's still a very good WR2 in fantasy.

Cardinals | Christian Kirk in position to contribute

Fri, 13 Jul 2018 21:11:43 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk has an opportunity to make an immediate impact as an "underneath threat" in the passing attack, according to Nick Shook of NFL.com.

Fantasy Tip: Kirk could be the No. 2 option in the passing game behind Larry Fitzgerald as soon as this year. He's worth adding as a WR5 in redraft leagues, and he is a potential first-round pick in rookie drafts.

Cardinals | Ricky Seals-Jones ready to break out

Sun, 08 Jul 2018 11:35:52 -0700

Arizona Cardinals TE Ricky Seals-Jones should see considerably more targets with an expanded role this season, according to Mike Jurecki of AZCardinals.com.

Fantasy Tip: There are plenty of reasons to get on the Seal-Jones' hype train. He's a former receiver and an athletic mismatch at 6-5 and 243 pounds who came alive late last season despite playing limited snaps. The Cardinals also lack proven dynamic playmakers in the passing game after Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson. Arizona did not bother adding much competition at the position in the offseason either. Seals-Jones' late 13th-round ADP makes him a ridiculous TE2 value who could finish as a TE1.

Cardinals | Brice Butler needs to step up

Sat, 07 Jul 2018 19:57:46 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Brice Butler has the ability to stretch defenses vertically, but he still needs to show he can handle the No. 2 receiver role, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald a lock for 100 grabs?

Sat, 07 Jul 2018 19:45:11 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald can be counted on to "catch more than 100 passes for more than 1,000 yards" this season, in the opinion of Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Tip: Fitzgerald has surpassed those marks in both categories in each of the last three seasons, so it's hard to bet against a repeat performance in 2018. Draft him as a low-risk WR2 with even more value in PPR formats.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds a three-down back?

Wed, 04 Jul 2018 16:41:17 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds is being taught to be a "three-down back," according to head coach Steve Wilks, and Wilks said Edmonds is learning to play in space and learning pass protections.

Fantasy Tip: There has been a decent amount of buzz regarding Edmonds this spring, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him open the season as the primary backup to David Johnson. If that happens, Johnson owners should make sure to secure Edmonds as a handcuff.

Cardinals | Patrick Peterson in line for more picks?

Tue, 03 Jul 2018 06:54:49 -0700

Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson thinks the new defensive scheme will allow him more chances at interceptions. "(I'm) very excited, 'cause I'm gonna be doing a lot of new things that I haven't done in my NFL career," Peterson said. "I'm just looking forward to getting back to my play-making ways because I believe over the last two-and-a-half, three years, I've been kind of handcuffed in doing that, because obviously teams try to stay away from me."

Cardinals | Josh Rosen leaves impression on Pro Bowl CB

Mon, 02 Jul 2018 19:29:15 -0700

Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Rosen is unlikely to start Week 1 so long as Sam Bradford is healthy and the team can protect him, but CB Patrick Peterson told SiriusXM NFL Radio the rookie signal-caller "blew his mind" during offseason workouts. "Just to see him run hurry-up offense, to see him make all these different checks, to see him put guys in position. I was completely stunned when I saw it. I was like, 'This guy has only been here a week, and he's already doing what? We're already running two-minute offense now?'"

Cardinals | Elijhaa Penny may be FB

Arizona Cardinals RB Elijhaa Penny is expected to be more of a fullback in the team's new offensive scheme but could receive some work as a running back.

Cardinals | Rookie WR expects Sam Bradford to start

Wed, 27 Jun 2018 18:47:17 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk said he expects QB Sam Bradford to be the starting quarterback Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: The Cardinals selected Josh Rosen in the first round of the draft, but it looks like Bradford is the favorite for the job as long as he can stay healthy. Bradford is a solid quarterback when he is on the field but has a lengthy injury history. Bradford probably can be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in deeper leagues.

Cardinals | JJ Nelson wants to be complete WR

Tue, 26 Jun 2018 12:05:53 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR JJ Nelson said he is looking to be more than a deep threat and believes the new offensive scheme will help him become a more complete receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson will be competing with several others for the No. 2 receiver job during training camp, so owners can keep an eye on the situation. His speed and big-play ability makes him a decent fantasy option and can be a late-round pick in deeper leagues.

Sat, 23 Jun 2018 11:41:20 -0700
