Andrew Brandt, of the National Football Post, reports the Arizona Cardinals have the legal right to collect $7.5 million from QB Kurt Warner due to his skipping out on half of the contract for which he was paid a $15 million signing bonus after announcing his retirement. As per the contract, $7.5 million of the $15 million bonus is scheduled to be paid out in equal installments throughout the 2010 season. The language of the contract allows for the Cardinals to not make those installments if Warner is not on the roster in 2010, meaning he will not receive those weekly installments of the $7.5 million.

Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Brian St. Pierre (back) will not need surgery to fix a back problem that hampered him throughout the 2009 season, according to agent Rick Smith. Smith said St. Pierre consulted with a specialist in North Carolina this week. The surgeon found "absolutely no structural issues" with St. Pierre's back, and he said that the problems were muscular. The doctor gave St. Pierre a different strength program designed to alleviate the pain.

An MRI exam did show a chipped bone in his left tibia. Rodgers-Cromartie did suffer an injury to his medial collateral ligament but not a tear.

Updating a previous report, Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports the results of an MRI revealed Arizona Cardinals CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (tibia, knee) has a chip in the tibia in his left leg and a medial collateral ligament injury. The extent of the injury to his MCL not known, but there was no damage to his anterior cruciate ligament. He will undergo further tests to see if needs to undergo surgery.
