Fantasy Tip: D'Arnaud has been involved in trade rumors, so in the short term, he could see fewer starts to ensure he's healthy. View d'Arnaud as a viable starting catcher in the majority of seasonal leagues. Rivera is nothing more than a desperation start given his career .590 OPS over eight seasons.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson is 20-for-63 at the dish with a .524 slugging percentage since joining the Mets, and this is the second consecutive game Johnson has started at second base. His value is rising in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues. Walker has hit an absolute wall. He's 2-for-27 since the All-Star break and owns a .168/.233/.234 slash line over his past 120 plate appearances. At this point, Walker isn't a worthy starter in most fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy will remain one of the top fantasy catchers wherever he plays, but d'Arnaud's power could benefit from home games in Miller Park.

Fantasy Tip: A lack of run support had as much to do with his drought as his own performance. Matz should remain a quality starting option in mixed formats, and he could be a buy-low candidate.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes' bat is slowly coming alive, and he should be owned in most mixed leagues. He could develop into a useful contributor down the stretch.

Fantasy Tip: D'Arnaud went 0-for-7 through his first two games back from the disabled list, but he's 20-for-65 since with two home runs, nine RBI and a .774 OPS. There's upside here, and d'Arnaud is a viable starter in the majority of seasonal leagues. Rivera is nothing more than a desperation start in all fantasy formats Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Walker has fallen off a cliff offensively since mid-June and owns a .168/.233/.234 slash line with just three extra-base hits through his past 120 plate appearances. He's replaceable in most mixed leagues. Johnson is 20-for-60 since joining the Mets this season, and he is a potential flier in daily contests Sunday.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda (back) visited the team and took swings Saturday, July 23. It was the first time he swung a bat since being placed on the disabled list Monday, May 23, and Duda said he hopes to begin a rehab assignment in a "couple weeks."
Fantasy Tip: Duda remains a potential stash candidate in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, as once healthy, he should roll right back into near full-time at-bats and start all games against right-handed pitchers. Over the past three seasons, he has returned a .477 slugging percentage with 64 home runs and 184 RBI over 327 games.

Fantasy Tip: After his best start of the year, deGrom had by far his worst. His overall numbers remain stout, and he should bounce back in his next start.
Fri, 22 Jul 2016 20:27:02 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Reyes isn't the player he used to be, but as long as he is seeing regular at-bats, he is worth owning in most formats.

Fantasy Tip: Cespedes has been dogged by several nagging injuries this year but has been fortunate enough to avoid any DL stints. On the season he's hitting a nice .295/.367/.567 with 21 long balls and 52 RBI. That's great production in any fantasy format, making him a top-tier outfielder as a must-start. Return him to all lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Wheeler is coming back from Tommy John surgery and is looking at a mid-August return to New York's rotation if he can avoid any further setbacks. You're looking at seven or eight starts from him, and there's no guarantee he'll be in top form at that time, so temper your expectations for what he can offer in 2016. Stash him in deep mixed and NL-only leagues but you can wait in the rest of formats.

Fantasy Tip: Flores is scorching hot and pushing for more playing time with an active 14-for-34 run at the plate that's yielded nine runs, seven home runs and 13 RBI. He should be owned in all deep mixed and NL-only leagues. Loney is nothing more than a fringe starter in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, and he could begin to lose starts to Flores.
Fri, 22 Jul 2016 12:36:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Conforto doesn't project to see many starts against southpaws, but he's still a viable option in deep mixed and NL-only leagues. He also owns the upside to be owned universally. Lagares has limited fantasy value batting eighth Friday, and he sits with an underwhelming .254/.299/.413 slash line for the season.

Milwaukee Brewers RP Jeremy Jeffress, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Joe Smith and Atlanta Braves RP Chris Withrow are among the bullpen options being monitored by the New York Mets ahead of the trade deadline. The club views adding another reliever as being "more easily attainable" as opposed to a starting pitcher.
Fantasy Tip: It would be a boost for each Withrow and Smith if one were to land on the Mets, at least in leagues that score holds, as both would get more opportunities at such compared to their current employers. Jeffress, however, would receive a huge downgrade, as he would no longer be closing like he does for Milwaukee, and effectively so in that role.
