New York Mets RP Bobby Parnell (elbow) is scheduled to resume throwing on flat ground Thursday, April 30. He's working his way back from Tommy John surgery last April, and his exam with Dr. David Altchek didn't show any structural damage. Parnell thinks throwing over the winter led to arm fatigue early this year. His fastball velocity has been clocked as low as 89 mph in his last rehab start, but he's confident his velocity will quickly return to the mid-90s when he's fully healthy. Parnell said he was throwing 94-95 mph in his previous rehab start.
Fantasy Tip: Parnell should continue to be stashed in a DL slot in all universes. However, Jeurys Familia has been lights out in his absence in the ninth inning, and it may not be easy for Parnell to regain the role when he's healthy.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (hamstring) is ramping up his baseball activities in Florida Monday, April 27, but he isn't moving laterally while taking ground balls, according to assistant general manager John Ricco. Wright also took swings off a tee and did some soft toss. He can come off the disabled list Thursday, April 30, but he's not expected to be activated before the weekend.
Fantasy Tip: Wright ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) should be left out of weekly lineups this week, since it's a best-case scenario that he returns from the DL this weekend. Once he's back, though, he should be an acceptable third base option on a daily basis for FantasyScore owners. Eric Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will keep his low-end third base daily value for a little while longer.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is off to a terrible start, hitting just .169 (11-for-65) with one home run and 11 RBI. It's still early, so it's too early to completely give up on Murphy, but he should be benched in standard leagues and avoided at FantasyScore for the time being. Perhaps Ruben Tejada ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) starts to take playing time from Murphy if he continues to struggle.

Fantasy Tip: Gee ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) struggled out of the gates, but he's bounced back in his most recent outing, and he has a 5.60 ERA while fanning 12 in 17 2/3 innings for the Mets. Noah Syndergaard has been dealing with a minor injury in the minors that his pushed his estimated MLB arrival back, so Gee should stick around a little longer. Gee is strictly a matchup play at FantasyScore.

New York Mets SP Matt Harvey struck out seven batters over 8 2/3 innings to record his fourth win of the season Saturday, April 25. Harvey allowed two runs on five hits, including a home run, and two walks.
Fantasy Tip: Through four starts, Harvey ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) is 4-0, with a 3.04 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP and a 10.5 K/9. He is erasing any concerns about his return from Tommy John surgery, and FatasyScore players can turn to him with confidence in the majority of matchups.

New York Mets SP Matt Harvey (ankle) threw with his ankle taped Thursday, April 23, and is set to make his start against the New York Yankees Saturday, April 25. He originally hurt his left ankle banging into an outfield wall while shagging balls in spring training.
Fantasy Tip: Harvey ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) is off to a fine start in his return from Tommy John surgery in 2015, and he should be considered a strong FantasyScore play tomorrow against the strikeout-happy Yanks. Don't let his minor ankle ailment scare you off.

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard (illness) suffered food poisoning and needed intravenous fluids and was scratched from his start with Triple-A Las Vegas Friday, April 24, according to general manager Sandy Alderson. Syndergaard has allowed five runs (four earned) and nine hits while walking six in 7 2/3 innings over two minor league starts so far.
Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard is the Mets' top pitching prospect in the minors. Now that he's gotten off to a slow start due to several setbacks in 2015, it may be a while before we see him up in the bigs and in the starting rotation. Syndergaard deserves to be stashed in deep NL-only leagues, though.

New York Mets RP Bobby Parnell's (elbow, forearm) rehab assignment has been put on hold for a week while he deals with forearm soreness, according to manager Terry Collins. Parnell was examined by Dr. David Altchek, but nothing alarming was found. His fastball velocity has been in the 89-92 mph range during his rehab outings as he recovers from Tommy John surgery.
Fantasy Tip: In Parnell's absence, Jeurys Familia is a perfect 8-for-8 in save chances, and is making a case for himself to remain as the ninth-inning stopper, even when Parnell returns. You'll want to continue stashing Parnell in a DL slot in all leagues, though.

Fantasy Tip: Mayberry ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) excels against left-handed pitchers, and he's expected to be a staple in New York's lineup against southpaws moving forward. Mayberry hit .341 (17-for-70) with five of his seven home runs against lefties in 2014. He makes for an interesting buy-low sleeper candidate at FantasyScore tomorrow against New York Yankees starter CC Sabathia.

Fantasy Tip: Plawecki will be added to the FantasyScore player pool shortly, and the rookie has a shot at taking over regular catching duties for the Metropolitans. He is worth a look in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, but his value is fleeting, as Travis D'Arnaud is likely only four to six weeks from returning.
Thu, 23 Apr 2015 14:38:51 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Wright is still likely two or three weeks away from returning to the lineup. Continue to stash him in seasonal leagues. Eric Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has been filling in at the hot corner for Wright, but Campbell offers little more than cap relief for FantasyScore players. However, his .394 on-base percentage is more conducive to daily contests and points formats. Continue to check back for updates on Wright's recovery.

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon became the first pitcher to four wins by beating the Atlanta Braves Thursday, April 23. Colon gave up three runs in six innings to win his first four starts of the season for the first time in his career. He has struck out 23 hitters and walked only one so far in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Despite Colon's ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) nice start, he remains mainly a matchup play at FantasyScore. His K/9 of 8.10 is prime for regression as the season advances, too.

Fantasy Tip: Recker sees occasional starts, and he is a solid FantasyScore value at $1,600 (or 3.2% of cap) when in the lineup. It won't take much to exceed salary expectations, and he'll save you plenty of money to spread across other more valuable positions.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets SP Matt Harvey (ankle) is dealing with a mild left ankle sprain, the team said Wednesday, April 22. He is not expected to miss his next scheduled start Saturday, April 25, against the New York Yankees.
Fantasy Tip: Even though he will pitch, and he is 3-0 with a 3.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 18 innings, he is a risky play in FantasyScore at $7,700 (or 15.4% of cap). It's uncertain if the injury could flare up during the game. He'll also be making his first-career start at Yankee Stadium, so that isn't exactly the easiest venue to pitch, either. Start him at your own peril.
Wed, 22 Apr 2015 13:21:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Harvey ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) has pitched just fine in the opening month while dealing with a foot issue, going 3-0 with a 3.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP while striking out 24 hitters in 18 innings. There's no reason to believe his foot will keep him from making a good outing against the New York Yankees, a strikeout-happy team, Saturday.
