Fantasy Tip: This could open the door once again for a call-up of prospect Kyle Gibson. However, Gibson might need more developmental time in his first full season back from Tommy John surgery, so P.J. Walters is likely a more realistic candidate for promotion. Walters would be an option only for AL-only managers. He said that he feels better today. He'll be re-evaluated on Friday, May 24, when he takes the ImPACT test, which determines whether he has a concussion or just showed the symptoms because of the initial blow to his head. Fantasy Tip: It sounds as if Plouffe has a good chance to avoid an extended absence. Jamey Carroll is likely a candidate to play more often. Colabello is unlikely to have fantasy value. Manager Ron Gardenhire didn't rule out the possibility of moving Pelfrey up, though. For now, SP Samuel Deduno is still scheduled to be recalled in time to pitch on Friday, May 24. Fantasy Tip: AL-only fantasy managers who were hoping to get a start from Deduno this week may turn out to be disappointed, but the Twins' rotation is loaded with long-term concerns -- specifically, about performance -- so Deduno, along with Kyle Gibson and P.J. Walters, is a candidate for a trial at some point in the near future, regardless. Minnesota would seem to have little incentive on the surface to push Pelfrey in the righty's first season following Tommy John surgery, anyway, so this is probably just talk. His control issues have held him back from taking a step forward in the bigs, though AL-only scroungers could find useful, roster-capping innings here, especially during home starts. Gibson, however, should be a factor for the Twins sometime this summer after his Super 2 status clears. Fantasy Tip: The club's Friday starter is TBA right now, meaning Kyle Gibson could be the option to be called up to make his major league debut. There was speculation last week that Hernandez could be sent down. If you're in an AL-only league, it might be worth the speculative pick-up of Gibson now. Willingham entered Sunday hitting just .103 (4-for-39) over his last 10 games with no homers to lower his average to .108 on the season. OF Wilkin Ramirez made the start in left field in his place. As for Doumit, he was given the day off after catching the day before in a game that lasted three hours and 53 minutes. He was also involved in a collision at home plate with Red Sox C Ryan Lavarnway in the sixth inning.
