Fantasy Tip: Sano will have the opportunity to get off to a quick start at the major league level, as Young has one of the league's highest fly ball rates. With the success of so many other top prospects already this season, owners shouldn't wait long to invest in Sano.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 15:13:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mauer ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has fared a little better at the plate of late, going 7-for-22 in his last five starts. Still, Mauer remains without any reliable power, and FantasyScore owners can find options with much more upside.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 15:05:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) was 8-for-17 in four games, before being used as a pinch-hitter Wednesday. Hunter has four home runs in his last four starts, and he'll be a strong option Thursday with his .283 batting average against righties.

Minnesota Twins 3B Miguel Sano is likely to serve mainly as the designated hitter with 3B Trevor Plouffe already serving as the team's everyday third baseman. Sano was hitting .274 with 15 home runs and 48 RBI in 66 games with Class AA Chattanooga this year before his call-up. He combined to hit 35 home runs in 123 games in the minors in 2013.
Fantasy Tip: Sano ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has plenty of raw power to make a big fantasy impact in all leagues in the second half of the season, even though he'll likely have plenty of swings and misses. If his expected debut Thursday he has a nice matchup against Kansas City Royals starter Chris Young. Consider him an acceptable and likely popular value pick on FantasyScore.

Minnesota Twins OF Shane Robinson (elbow) left the game early in the sixth inning Wednesday, July 1, after being hit by a pitch above the left elbow. Robinson returned to the lineup Wednesday after sitting out with a stomach ailment Tuesday, June 30.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is likely to sit out tomorrow. He's strictly a low-end sleeper play at FantasyScore otherwise mainly as a way to save valuable salary cap space for your lineups.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 16:35:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gibson ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has a 3.30 ERA on the season, 1.26 WHIP and is fanning only 5.6 hitters per nine innings. The last time he faced KC June 10 he allowed four earned runs in six innings in a loss. The Royals are aggressive and don't strike out much. There's plenty of risk in going with Gibson on FantasyScore tomorrow.

Fantasy Tip: Sano will likely see the majority of his at-bats as the designated hitter, although, expect more news on the plan for his playing time to come. Regardless, he is boasts tremendous power upside and is worth an immediate add in the majority of formats. Continue to check back for updates. He had 55 runs, 18 doubles, 15 home runs, 48 RBI and a .274/.374/.544 slash line with Chattanooga. He is a must-add shortstop where he has eligibility.

Minnesota Twins OF Max Kepler has blossomed from a project to a complete hitter at Class AA Chattanooga this year, hitting .336 with a .940 OPS and three home runs, eight triples and 22 doubles in 64 games. He's also walked nearly as often as he has struck out, and he hit .364 with a 1.052 OPS in June. Kepler, a lefty swinger, has expanded his approach at the plate to become more assertive, especially when it comes to pulling the ball. He has more of a line-drive swing but has added power after tacking on 10-15 pounds over the years. He has also shown improvement against lefties, with a .910 OPS against them in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Kepler is still far away from a major-league call-up, but he's worth keeping an eye on in dynasty and keeper leagues.

Minnesota Twins SP Ervin Santana is set to return from his 80-game suspension and start against the Kansas City Royals Sunday, July 5. Manager Paul Molitor said the team could move a starter to the bullpen or go with a six-man rotation to make room for Santana in the rotation. Santana tossed eight scoreless innings in his third and final rehab start for Class AAA Rochester Tuesday, June 30. General manager Terry Ryan is against a six-man rotation, but in this case it would only be for a week heading into the All-Star break. Santana had a 1.84 ERA in 20 1/3 innings with 11 strikeouts and four walks in his three rehab starts in the minors.
Fantasy Tip: Santana ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) should immediately be snatched up if he's available on your league's waiver wire. He can definitely make a big impact for your pitching staff in the second half. On FantasyScore, it's a big risk to go with Santana immediately against the Royals Sunday. KC is an aggressive club that strikes out rarely.

Fantasy Tip: Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting at a .172 clip (10-for-58) in a backup role and has just one home run. Look elsewhere for your FantasyScore catcher today.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 09:08:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Nunez ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting a cool .305 (29-for-95) with two home runs and 11 RBI for the Twins this year and has fallen into an everyday role at shortstop of late. However, he doesn't have much power and isn't a strong option for FantasyScore gamers using this afternoon's games with a matchup against Cueto.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 08:00:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It's a good day for Mauer to sit in the NL park against ace Johnny Cueto. Vargas ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) had a .235-2-5 line in June, and his matchup is one to avoid on FantasyScore.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 08:00:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) presents one of the lesser challenges of three-hole hitters today as he had a .266-2-7 line in June. Sit him against Johnny Cueto today.
Tue, 30 Jun 2015 18:52:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800; or 3.6% of cap) is a low-priced FantasyScore option worth using as a salary saver when he does make an occasional start.
Tue, 30 Jun 2015 13:59:13 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Berrios is the team's top pitching prospect after going 8-3 with a 3.08 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 92 strikeouts in 90 2/3 innings over 15 starts for Class AA Chattanooga this year. If he performs well at Class AAA, he could be called up to Minnesota later this year. He should be firmly on your radar in dynasty and keeper leagues.
