Hughes has thrown five consecutive quality starts with 35 strikeouts, three walks and a 1.89 ERA over his last 33 1/3 innings pitched.

The Minnesota Twins would like to get OF Danny Santana more playing time at shortstop this season, according to manager Ron Gardenhire. Santana has been starting at center field because of the lack of depth the team has at the position. Gardenhire believes Santana's position in the future will be shortstop.
Fantasy Tip: Santana has been playing well this season and should continue to be in starting lineups in most leagues. He likely will be eligible at shortstop and outfielder next season, which will make him valuable in a lot of leagues.

Minnesota Twins SP Kohl Stewart (undisclosed) was lifted early during his start with Class A Cedar Rapids Tuesday, Aug. 19. His velocity was topping out at just 90 mph, and he reportedly did not look right physically.
Fantasy Tip: Stewart is one of the top prospects in the organization, and the team is not likely to take any chances with him. We saw the team shut down Byron Buxton when he suffered concussion with Double-A New Britain, and it would be shocking to see Stewart again at any point this season.

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (concussion) is not expected to play another game in the minor leagues this season, according to general manager Terry Ryan. The team is hopeful that Buxton, who is dealing with a concussion, can play in the Arizona Fall League.
Fantasy Tip: Despite the season-ending injury, he remains a must-have in all long-term fantasy keeper formats. He is one of the top prospects in baseball, and he is likely to start out at Double-A New Britain in 2015.

Minnesota Twins P Anthony Swarzak (ankle) is expected to avoid the disabled list despite suffering a sprained right ankle last week. "He came and did everything out in the pen ... actually simulated running off the mound going to first base," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "He's fine."

Fantasy Tip: Pino could return to pitch during the doubleheader Saturday, Aug. 23, against the Detroit Tigers. However, that is an unfavorable matchup. Pino is safe to drop.

Fantasy Tip: Nolasco will return to face the Kansas City Royals tonight. It's definitely not the best matchup for him, as the Royals are red-hot of late. Look elsewhere for your starting pitcher in daily leagues.

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (concussion) was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list with Double-A New Britain Thursday, Aug. 14. Buxton was treated and released from hospital Wednesday, Aug. 13, after he collided with a teammate.
Fantasy Tip: Buxton remains a must-own player in long-term keeper/dynasty formats.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (concussion) suffered a concussion during a collision with Double-A New Britain teammate OF Mike Kvasnicka, general manager Terry Ryan confirmed Tuesday, Aug. 13. Buxton suffered no other injuries, and he is sidelined at least seven days.
Fantasy Tip: Buxton was on the ground and motionless for a while, and this certainly looked like it could be much worse when it initially happened. A concussion is serious, but at least he did not suffer any kind of long-term injury. He remains a top-level prospect and must-have for those in long-term keeper fantasy formats.
