Minnesota Twins SP Jose Berrios allowed five runs on six hits and struck out five in four innings in his loss to the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, April 27. "Jose was probably a little amped up," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "I don't think we saw him at his best. He competed fairly well. Command wasn't particularly sharp."
Fantasy Tip: Berrios is arguably their best pitching prospect and one of the better prospects in the majors. He's worth holding onto to see if he can harness his command.

Fantasy Tip: Plouffe has been sidelined because of a strained right intercostal muscle and should be viewed as a low-end option at the hot corner in most seasonal leagues. INF Eduardo Nunez has received the bulk of the playing time at third base for Minnesota in his absence, although 3B/OF Miguel Sano has also seen action there on days when he isn't starting in right field.

Minnesota Twins SP Alex Meyer could be debuting for the team sooner than later. The team has "kicked around the idea" of giving him a start. Their starting pitcher for Sunday, May 1, is still to be determined.
Fantasy Tip: It makes sense for the Twins to roll with Meyer, as they just lost two of their top starting pitchers to injury in Kyle Gibson and Ervin Santana, and will be unveiling fellow top pitching prospect Jose Berrios on Wednesday. Meyer will have some solid value to offer once he arrives in Minnesota, as his home starts would be in a pitcher-friendly park, plus his pedigree indicates he could be a very useful asset in fantasy leagues. Owners should monitor his situation.

Minnesota Twins 3B/OF Miguel Sano is starting at third base for the second straight day against Cleveland Indians SP Josh Tomlin Wednesday, April 27. That allows OF Oswaldo Arcia to start in right field. He's hitting sixth in the batting order.
Fantasy Tip: With Trevor Plouffe on the DL, Sano could accumulate enough starts at the hot corner to become eligible at third base, in addition to the outfield. That's significant, and it would give Sano owners more flexibility with their lineups. The second year slugger has 30-homer power but swings and misses often and won't do your batting average any favors.

Fantasy Tip: Berrios had a 2-0 record, 1.06 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 10.6 K/9 in three starts for Class AAA Rochester this year, and he had nothing left to prove in the minors as Minnesota's top pitching prospect. With both Ervin Santana (back) and Kyle Gibson (shoulder) on the DL, Berrios could stick around for a while if he pitches well. He should've already been owned in AL-only and dynasty leagues, and he certainly deserves consideration for ownership in mixed leagues, as well.

Minnesota Twins SPs Ervin Santana (back) and Kyle Gibson (shoulder) are both expected to be ready to come off the disabled list when they are eligible, according to manager Paul Molitor. Santana is dealing with a lower back strain, while Gibson is suffering from a right shoulder strain.
Fantasy Tip: Gibson, who was 0-3 with a 6.10 ERA in four starts, could have his rotation spot in jeopardy if top pitching prospect Jose Berrios impresses in his opportunity. Gibson should only be stashed in deeper AL-only leagues, while Berrios could be universally owned if he lives up to his billing against the Cleveland Indians Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Nolasco has piled up 24 strikeouts over 27 2/3 innings with a 0.90 WHIP through four outings. He has re-emerged as a useful fantasy option in AL-only leagues and some deeper mixed formats, and he is a value play in DFS.

Fantasy Tip: Santana has four hits and a pair of runs scored in eight at-bats since returning to the lineup. It appears safe to plug him back into the active lineup in all AL-only fantasy leagues and DFS play.

Fantasy Tip: Tyler Duffey replaced Santana after he was scratched from his last start. Stash Santana in deep mixed and AL-only leagues, while Gibson can likely be jettisoned everywhere. Jose Berrios, the club's top pitching prospect, will be called up to make his major league debut Wednesday. The way Minnesota's rotation has underwhelmed, Berrios may be one of the better arms, meaning he could stick around for a while. Grab him everywhere.

Minnesota Twins 3B Eduardo Nunez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 26, against the Cleveland Indians. OF Miguel Sano is playing third base and batting fourth against Indians SP Cody Anderson.
Fantasy Tip: Nunez is a player with borderline fantasy value, even though he has hit leadoff. Sano carries plenty of value in the fourth spot (.323-3-6 in the last week) so put him in your lineup and reap the benefits.

Fantasy Tip: Gibson has had a rough go of it to begin the year, and he's sporting a 6.10 ERA, an 0-3 record, 1.74 WHIP and just 11 strikeouts and 12 walks in 20 2/3 innings. He should only be retained in deep AL-only leagues right now, albeit on the bench. Stay tuned for Minnesota's rotation plans moving forward.
Tue, 26 Apr 2016 13:58:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The first question is why the Twins would put a .200 hitter at the top of the lineup, but the Twins are shuffling the deck chairs to find a lineup that hits. Santana should get plenty of chances and he did have a starting job two years ago. AL owners may like Santana's chances, as will daily owners because of his lineup status.
Tue, 26 Apr 2016 11:09:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Berrios is Minnesota's top pitching prospect, and his upside is very high with three above-average swing-and-miss offerings. He should be scooped up anywhere that he's available, even if his stay in the big leagues is short once Santana returns from injury. Berrios could also take the spot of struggling starter Kyle Gibson eventually if he pitches well in his first MLB taste.
Tue, 26 Apr 2016 10:15:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Twins are likely calling Berrios, their top pitching prospect, up to insert him into the starting rotation, so he could be taking the spot of Kyle Gibson. Berrios, just 21, went 14-5 with a 2.87 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 175 K's in 166 1/3 frames in two minor league stops last year. He has three above-average pitches than can all generate swings and misses. Berrios should've already been stashed in AL-only and dynasty leagues, but he'll now become a popular waiver wire target in all other mixed formats.
Mon, 25 Apr 2016 15:29:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Santana is out to a dreadful 2-for-12 start and has been receiving inconsistent at-bats anyway, so owners can leave him on waiver wires in the majority of leagues. He's not worth scooping up until he shows some life in his bat and on the basepaths again.
