Minnesota Twins OF Max Kepler went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in a 6-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles Thursday, July 28, and he has eight home runs in 22 games in July and 38 RBI in 49 games since being recalled June 1.
Fantasy Tip: His average leaves a lot to be desired, but his power and run production make him worth owning in deeper mixed leagues.

Minnesota Twins SP Tyler Duffey gave up five runs on eight hits Wednesday, July 27, in a 9-7 loss to the Atlanta Braves. Duffey dropped to 5-8 overall and didn't make it to the third inning for the second start in a row.
Fantasy Tip: Duffey faced a hot-hitting lineup in this game, but it's still the Atlanta Braves he faced. He may not be ready for prime time. so leave Duffey on the bench in daily and regular formats.

Minnesota Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe (rib) is scheduled to take live batting practice Friday, July 29, after he took flips in the cage with no issues Wednesday, July 27. If all goes well, he could begin a rehab assignment shortly thereafter.
Fantasy Tip: Plouffe's rehab assignment could start this weekend or early next week. It is uncertain if he will receive as much playing time after he returns from the disabled list but he should continue to have some value in AL-only and deep mixed fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario is a fantasy asset on the rise with a .344/.359/.557 slash line over 16 July games, and Buxton hasn't been able to gain any traction at the dish with just a .674 OPS this month. Rosario is likely worth an add in deep mixed leagues, whereas Buxton isn't worth owning outside of cavernous mixed and AL-only settings.

Fantasy Tip: Talk about efficient, Santana went the full nine innings and didn't even reach the 100-pitch plateau. The Twins offense mustered just five hits and no runs, however, dropping Santana to 3-9 in the process. Still, it was another strong performance from the veteran, who is 2-2 with a 2.02 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP over his last seven starts. His strikeouts aren't great during that time -- 31 in 49 IP -- but he should be owned in all deep leagues and even possesses some standard value.

Fantasy Tip: Plouffe probably will spend at least one week in the minor leagues before he is able to be activated from the disabled list. It is not known how Plouffe will be used once he returns to the team, but he should still have some value in deeper mixed leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki missed some time because of a laceration on his chin. He is hitting a solid .288 with five home runs and 33 RBI this season and should be used in most two-catcher leagues.

Minnesota Twins OF Robbie Grossman, SS Eduardo Escobar and C Kurt Suzuki are not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Rick Porcello Sunday, July 24. SS Eduardo Nunez will start at shortstop, while 1B Kennys Vargas will serve as the designated hitter and is batting sixth. OF Eddie Rosario will start in left field and is batting seven, while C Juan Centeno will start at catcher and is batting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Vargas is hitting .211 with one RBI over the last seven days and probably will not be the best starting candidate for most owners. Rosario should be a sleeper option in daily fantasy leagues because he is hitting .396 with two home runs and seven RBI in July. Centeno is hitting .245 this season and would only have value in two-catcher leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Nunez entered 0-for-11 over the past three games, so this game was necessary to quell the fears of Nunez's impatient fantasy owners.

Fantasy Tip: Sano has back-to-back three-hit games, as something about Boston pitching and Fenway Park certainly agrees with him. He is a must-start for the series finale Sunday in DFS play.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 23:43:33 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rosario has five multi-hit games over the past 11 outings to raise his average from .198 to .262 just since July 6. He has re-emerged as a solid fantasy option in most AL-only leagues while running hot.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 23:42:43 -0700
Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco allowed six earned runs, six hits and three walks over just two innings in a no-decision Saturday, July 23, against the Boston Red Sox. He threw just 35 of his 65 pitches for strikes.
Fantasy Tip: Nolasco entered with three straight quality starts in the month of July, but this egg-laying will put doubt in the minds of fantasy owners yet again. He remains useful only in the deepest of AL fantasy formats at this point.

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki (chin) left the game against the Boston Red Sox Saturday, July 23, after taking a foul tip off his catcher's mask. He received several stitches on his chin but did not suffer a concussion.
Fantasy Tip: Suzuki should be considered day-to-day. He went 1-for-1 with an RBI double and a run scored before leaving Saturday's contest and is batting .288 with five home runs and 33 RBI through 67 games this season.

Fantasy Tip: Sano has a .275-4-9 line in 40 at-bats against left-handers this year. He's a high-end option against David Price.
