Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May (arm) was forced to leave his start Saturday, April 25, against the Seattle Mariners after being hit by a liner in the pitching arm. X-rays were negative, and he said Monday, April 27, that he expects to make his next scheduled start Thursday, April 30, against the Chicago White Sox.
Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore owners will want to take a wait-and-see approach with May, even at a temptingly low salary of $3,000 (or 6.0% of cap). Let him prove his health in a full start before trusting him again.

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) felt good after his minor-league rehab outing for Class A Cedar Rapids Sunday, April 26. He struck out five batters while allowing just one run and throwing 67 pitches. " I felt good, I was able to throw nice, free and easy, which was huge," Nolasco said Monday, April 27.
Fantasy Tip: The team hasn't announced an exact timetable for Nolasco, so FantasyScore owners need not bother with him for a while. He is making progress, however, and that's a good sign.

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia is not in the starting lineup against a left-handed pitcher Monday, April 27. OF Shane Robinson is starting in left field and hitting seventh in the batting order against Detroit Tigers SP David Price.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is at the bottom of the barrel of outfielders you should consider tonight at FantasyScore.

Minnesota Twins DH Kennys Vargas is not in the starting lineup Monday, April 27. SS Eduardo Escobar is serving as the designated hitter and hitting fifth in the batting order against Detroit Tigers SP David Price.
Fantasy Tip: Escobar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) doesn't come recommended tonight while facing Price.

Fantasy Tip: May ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has looked decent in his last two starts, but his ERA sits at 4.91 in three starts. It's probably the best idea to avoid him at FantasyScore coming off his short start. He's lined up to face the Chicago White Sox this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Soriano, the top free-agent reliever available in free agency, is currently working out in the Dominican Republic as he awaits an opportunity to return to the majors. However, the Twins' interest in him is curious since it doesn't appear as though they'll be contenders this season.

Fantasy Tip: Sano and his fellow stud prospect teammate Byron Buxton have gotten off to slow starts and will need to turn it on to force the team's hand in calling them up before the All-Star break.
Sat, 25 Apr 2015 15:57:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: With all the hype around the Chicago Cubs, the Twins have remained patient with their young stud prospects. Buxton isn't forcing their hand, either. He's the top prospect in baseball by some outlets, and he needs to turn it on to come up before the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Nolasco ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is working his way back from an elbow injury and may need a few rehab starts before rejoining the team. Owners on FantasyScore should avoid Nolasco until he comes off the disabled list.

Minnesota Twins 1B Joe Mauer has a career slash line of .378/.439/.649 with two home runs and four doubles in 37 at-bats against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez. OF Torii Hunter also sports a career average of .320 against Hernandez in 75 at-bats.
Fantasy Tip: Both Mauer ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) and Hunter ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) are against-the-grain FantasyScore plays to get a leg up on your competiton.
Fri, 24 Apr 2015 16:04:27 -0700
Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez, who is 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA this year, is 7-5 with a 2.08 ERA in 16 career outings against the Minnesota Twins, including 3-0 with a 0.79 ERA in four starts against them in the last three years. He is 4-2 with a 1.47 ERA in nine starts against the Twins in Seattle.
Fantasy Tip: Hernandez ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) is a no-brainer at FantasyScore, despite the high salary, against one of the league's weakest hitting teams.

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals left-handed SP Jason Vargas Tuesday, April 21. OF Shane Robinson is starting in center field and hitting ninth in the batting order.
Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has very little FantasyScore appeal with his weak stick, especially at the bottom of a poor Twins lineup. Avoid him in your daily lineups against the Royals.
Mon, 20 Apr 2015 14:49:03 -0700
Minnesota Twins SP Phil Hughes (finger) reported no issues with his cracked fingernail on his right middle finger while playing catch Monday, April 20. He remains on track to face the Seattle Mariners Friday, April 24.
Fantasy Tip: Hughes ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is off to a slow start in 2015 after a career year in 2014. He is 0-3 with a 5.30 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 18 2/3 innings. The Mariners haven't exactly played very well to begin the season, either, but Hughes should be considered a low-end FantasyScore starter later this week.
Mon, 20 Apr 2015 14:31:56 -0700
Minnesota Twins SP Kyle Gibson is 4-0 with a 1.38 ERA in 26 career innings over four starts against the Kansas City Royals. Gibson allowed just one run over 6 2/3 innings to beat the Royals last Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Gibson ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is a midrange starting pitcher option at FantasyScore Monday evening. His history against KC is a positive, but the Royals have been so hot out of the gate offensively that it would make sense to avoid him.
Mon, 20 Apr 2015 14:09:35 -0700
Minnesota Twins 1B Kennys Vargas is not in the starting lineup Monday, April 20. SS Eduardo Escobar is serving as the designated hitter and hitting sixth in the batting order against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez.
Fantasy Tip: Escobar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should be avoided at FantasyScore this evening. Volquez is off to a fine start with his new club, going 1-1 with a 2.30 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings.
