Milwaukee Brewers news, rumors and injuries

Fantasy Tip: Cravy will be as cheap as they come on FantasyScore tonight, and for good reason. It'll be his first major league start after going 5-4 with a 4.04 ERA in nine starts for Class AAA Colorado Springs this year. Stacking your daily lineups with Redbirds hitters could be an effective strategy tonight.

Milwaukee Brewers OF Adam Lind (back) is not in the starting lineup versus a left-handed pitcher Monday, June 1. 1B Jason Rogers is starting at first base and hitting sixth in the batting order against St. Louis Cardinals SP Jaime Garcia.
Fantasy Tip: Lind's back condition is expected to be minor, and he could return to the lineup tomorrow. Rogers ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) isn't an attractive option tonight against Garcia. He hits just .184 (7-for-38) with 10 strikeouts in his career against left-handers.

Fantasy Tip: Gomez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) admittedly said he's more confident and comfortable when hitting fourth, so that shouldn't go unnoticed. The matchup against Garcia favors Gomez, too, although he's just 4-for-27 (.148) against southpaws this year in a limited sample size.

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) is back in the starting lineup and hitting second in the batting order against St. Louis Cardinals SP Jaime Garcia Monday, June 1, after being activated from the disabled list earlier in the day.
Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) returns after having only 45 at-bats in April before being injured. It's reasonable to be hesitant to trust him on FantasyScore immediately, but the matchup against Garcia isn't a bad one to roll with. Lucroy hit .304 (42-for-138) with one of his 13 home runs against southpaws in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) last played Monday, April 20, so expecting him to explode out of the gate upon his return is ill-advised. During his four-game rehab assignment, Lucroy went 4-for-16 with three runs and a RBI. FantasyScore players should view him as a high-risk, high-reward option initially, because of his hefty salary. Over time, though, he projects to return to being a top-tier catcher in all fantasy formats.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Kyle Lohse is getting hit hard for a .946 OPS at home this year, but he's allowing only a .645 OPS on the road. Nine of the 13 home runs he has given up have come at Miller Park in 2015. Lohse could be a trade target for a contending team this summer, but that team would be responsible for the rest of his $11 million salary.
Fantasy Tip: With an ERA of 6.50 on the year and a WHIP of 1.38, you should be staying far away from Lohse ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) on FantasyScore, especially when he pitches at hitter-friendly Miller Park. If he's traded, it should slightly increase his fantasy value.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has recorded four RBI in his last six games but may not be the best option on FantasyScore since he is batting .220 this season.
Sun, 31 May 2015 10:17:51 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It is not known how long Lind ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) will be sidelined, so owners should monitor the situation. Rogers ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has slowed down a bit in May and has a .229 batting average this month. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options.
Sun, 31 May 2015 10:10:46 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has picked up three hits in the two games since he was activated from the disabled list. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using Segura in their lineups.
Sun, 31 May 2015 10:03:33 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) likely will miss several weeks because of the injury. Gerardo Parra ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) likely will see most of the playing time in the outfield while Davis is out and could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore against certain opponents.
Sun, 31 May 2015 06:40:46 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gerardo Parra ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) projects to receive the majority of starts in left field with Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) out. Make sure to check back for an official announcement on Davis' return timetable before dropping him outright, as he is worth stashing in an IR slot. Parra has some upside, and he can chip in across every fantasy category. Still, he is a deep mixed league option, at best. His current FantasyScore salary has a lot of profit room in it, though.
Sat, 30 May 2015 14:47:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Davis has been on a roll with a .467-2-2 line the last week, but Gerardo Parra figures to receive the time if Davis is out. Parra ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is a weak matchup play on FantasyScore.
Sat, 30 May 2015 12:11:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has four home runs and 14 RBIs in only 89 at-bats but is hitting just .225 on the season. Better options are available in FantasyScore for a comparable price.
Fri, 29 May 2015 14:44:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Wagner should be viewed as a desperation source of cap relief in daily contests and an ill-advised start in seasonal formats. He has performed well at Class AA Biloxi and sports a 5-1 record, a 2.01 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP and a 6.4 K/9. However, going from Class AA to the majors is a significant leap.
Fri, 29 May 2015 11:51:11 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Segura ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) should be given a bit of leeway until he's proven the bat is sufficiently warmed up. SS Luis Sardinas ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) may play a few games here and there as well, so be aware Segura may not get all the starts.
