Fantasy Tip: Gennett could end up hitting at the top of Milwaukee's lineup, but regardless of where he is slotted, he is a solid mid-round fantasy pick. However, he does struggle against lefties, and he should only be used at FantasyScore against right-handed pitching.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Jimmy Nelson has struggled this spring, but he remains on track to be the No. 5 starter for the team this season, according to manager Ron Roenicke. Nelson has a 6.23 ERA in four outings during spring training and is allowing batters to hit .304 off him. The Brewers believe Nelson has the stuff to be successful in the major leagues.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) will be in the starting rotation at the start of the season, but his performance will determine how long he has the job. Nelson likely will not be an option in mixed leagues but should be selected in all NL-only leagues. Owners on FantasyScore should wait to see him pitch a few games before considering him as a starting option.

Fantasy Tip: Even in a disastrous year, Braun ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) hit 19 home runs, drove in 81 RBI and posted a respectable .266 batting average. With his thumb problems presumably in the rear-view mirror, Braun stands to return to being a high-end fantasy contributor. Expectations should be kept in check, obviously, but he could easily post a 75-25-90-12-.275 line and is worth considering as early as the end of Round 2 in drafts. Hitting in a strong lineup and hitter-friendly ballpark makes Braun a worthy FantasyScore target in favorable matchups, too.

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez (shoulder, back) said he is fine after leaving the game early Monday, March 23. Gomez added he felt a twinge in his shoulder after sliding into second base, but it was not why he came out of the game.
Fantasy Tip: Gomez ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) is a rare five-category contributor worth selecting in the middle of Round 1 on draft day. Continue to check back to see if there are any linger issues with Gomez's shoulder or back. Opening the season at home against a weak Colorado Rockies pitching staff projects favorably for him in FantasyScore contests, too.

Fantasy Tip: It was likely a precautionary move, and until there is a contrary update, continue to view Gomez ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) as a high-end outfielder. He is a first-round lock and likely to go in the middle of Round 1 of drafts. The Brewers open the season at home against the Colorado Rockies, and there is huge upside for Gomez in FantasyScore contests during that first series.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Mike Fiers (shoulder) will pitch again in spring training Thursday, March 26, according to manager Ron Roenicke. That would line Fiers up to be the team's No. 4 starter with a season debut April 10 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Fantasy Tip: Fiers has high strikeout upside in the Brewers rotation, and he's worth a late-round stab in mixed leagues. At home against the Pirates in his first start may not be the chance to take a chance on him at FantasyScore, though, for $5,800 (11.6% of cap).

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez should enter the regular season as the closer, but he could lose the job if he does not play well early in the season. Owners could consider Rodriguez in the later rounds of drafts because his ability to provide some saves.

Fantasy Tip: Lohse has a 1.80 ERA, a 0.60 WHIP and 10 K's in 10 innings this spring. He has shown a propensity to get off to fast starts the last few years. At $5,700, 11.4% of your cap, he's an undervalued starter on FantasyScore.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Mike Fiers (shoulder) is expected to be fine to open the season in the starting rotation, according to manager Ron Roenicke. However, that could include moving him back or skipping one of his turns.
Fantasy Tip: Fiers went 6-5 with a 2.13 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and a 9.5 K/9 in 10 starts in 2014. His upside is tangible, and he'll be worth a late-round pick in standard drafts this year with a guaranteed rotation spot in his hands.

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers SP Mike Fiers (shoulder) had a successful bullpen session Thursday, March 19, and he could pitch in a game as soon as Saturday, March 21. The precise plan is to be determined.
Fantasy Tip: Fiers is a solid late-round flier after striking out more than a batter per inning (9.54 K/9) and tallying a 2.13 ERA and 0.88 WHIP last season.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Mike Fiers (shoulder) was scratched from his spring outing with shoulder weakness Thursday, March 19. However, he'll instead throw a bullpen session, so the team isn't too concerned.
Fantasy Tip: Fiers, 29, went 6-5 with a sparkling 2.13 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 14 games (10 starts) in 2014. He's a sleeper option in the later rounds of mixed leagues with a guaranteed spot in the starting rotation to start the 2015 season. Keep an eye on his shoulder, though.
Wed, 18 Mar 2015 15:14:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lind is a proven hitter against right-handed pitching (.293/.349/.510 career slash line), but he has just 892 plate appearances against southpaws over his nine-year career. He is a late-round flier in mixed leagues, but if he receives an opportunity to hit lefties and succeeds, there is serious upside for fantasy owners. It is a nice calculated risk, because his success against right-handed pitchers is reliable. Make sure to check back for updates over the spring, especially with Lind's history of nagging back issues.

Fantasy Tip: Either way, Gomez is a candidate for a mid-round fantasy selection in the first round of drafts in 2015 because of the production he can give you across the board. Hitting in the middle of the order would significantly increase his RBI chances, but it might also hurt his chances of scoring runs.

Milwaukee Brewers RP Francisco Rodriguez arrived at spring training Friday, March 13, and passed his physical. He threw off a mound for the first time Saturday, March 14, and should be ready to pitch in a game in a week.
Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez should have plenty of time to get ready for the regular season after arriving to camp late. His job security is attractive in Milwaukee, but his age (33) may scare some fantasy baseball owners away on draft day. However, despite his age, he continues to have a K/9 over 9.0, and he should be considered a reliable closing option once the bigger relief names come off the board.
Sat, 14 Mar 2015 19:55:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: As long as he doesn't experience any setbacks, Lucroy should be ready to roll for the regular season. He established himself as one of the best all-around hitting catchers last year and should be one of the first few catchers drafted in all fantasy formats.
