Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager will be in the lineup again, this time at third base against San Diego Padres SP James Shields Friday, Sept. 4, as manager Don Mattingly gives 3B Justin Turner (knee) a day of rest. The plan is to mainly use Seager to spell Turner at third base. Turner has dealt with knee soreness for much of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Seager ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) had an impressive debut last night against the Padres, scoring two runs and recording two hits. His upside is huge at a position that often lacks offensive juggernauts, so he could even be valuable in deep mixed formats if he plays enough in the final month. He'll likely be popular on FantasyScore tonight, but beware of a letdown in his second start against the Friars' ace.

Fantasy Tip: Grandal ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) should be closely watched, as it is clear his bat has left him heading down the stretch. Wait and see if he snaps out of this slump before putting him in your FantasyScore lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Seager was a highly-touted prospect in the Dodgers system, and the team likely will utilize his bat as much as possible. See if he can have another good game or two before you put some money into him on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Latos ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has been nothing short of a disappointment since his arrival in Los Angeles at the trade deadline. With an 0-2 mark and 6.05 ERA in August, you have to wonder how much longer the Dodgers will hold out hope for Latos to regain his magic.

Fantasy Tip: This is good news for fantasy owners of Jimmy Rollins ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) and bad news for owners of Justin Turner ($5,200, 10.4% of cap), who has only collected three hits in his last 20 at-bats. Seager is one of the top prospects in baseball and should be owned in all keeper and NL-only leagues, although he is not yet available in FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Scott Van Slyke ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) could see additional playing time while Ethier is sidelined but his stats have been underwhelming this season, particularly against righties. In 101 at-bats against right-handed pitchers, he is only batting .228 with two home runs and 14 RBIs.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mat Latos is 0-2 with a 6.05 ERA in four starts since being traded to the Dodgers at the deadline, and he was also sent to the bullpen for 16 days before his last start. He has not gone past the fifth inning in any of his last three starts.
Fantasy Tip: The only real advantage to playing Latos ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) on FantasyScore tonight is that your opposition is unlikely to look his way. The Padres also rank fifth-highest in strikeouts as a team in 2015 with 1,085.

Fantasy Tip: Pederson ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) hasn't been playable on FantasyScore for much of the second half of the season, but a move back to leadoff tonight should at least peak your interest. Basically, you'll be crossing your fingers that he takes one deep at an extreme pitcher's park.
Thu, 03 Sep 2015 15:58:06 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Van Slyke ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is a pretty mediocre daily selection tonight against a right-hander in a pitcher's park. Van Slyke has struggled to produce with sporadic playing time, and he's hitting only .225 (23-for-102) with two of his five home runs against righties this year.
Thu, 03 Sep 2015 15:54:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: You could do much worse than Turner ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) on FantasyScore as your third baseman tonight, even after he was hit on the pinkie by a pitch last night.

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager is starting at shortstop and is hitting eighth in his big league debut against San Diego Padres SP Colin Rea Thursday, Sept. 3. SS Jimmy Rollins will start on the bench.
Fantasy Tip: Seager unfortunately will not be available on FantasyScore after being called up this morning. However, he could see decent playing time in the season's final month spelling both Rollins and Justin Turner on the left side of the infield. This top prospect could be hard to pass up on FantasyScore at what's expected to be a modest salary if he translates his hot hitting in the minors to the majors immediately.

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager is expected to back up SS Jimmy Rollins at shortstop and could also provide insurance behind 3B Justin Turner (pinkie), especially after Turner was hit by a pitch in his left pinkie Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Fantasy Tip: While Seager will be a utility infielder for the Dodgers in the last month, he could see decent playing time spelling Rollins and Turner, especially if Turner needs to rest his finger this week. Seager did nothing but hit in two minor league stops this year and is one of the top overall prospects in all of baseball. He's already owned in all keeper formats most likely, and he's worth adding in NL-only leagues, too.

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (pinkie) was hit by a pitch in his left pinkie Wednesday, Sept. 2, but X-rays came back negative. The Dodgers don't have a true backup third baseman, which may explain their call-up of SS prospect Corey Seager Thursday, Sept. 3. Seager is primarily a shortstop, but he started 19 games at third base in the minors this season in case the Dodgers needed to use him there. Seager has batted .293 with 18 home runs and an .831 OPS in 124 games in two minor league stops this year, and he was 11-for-35 with six extra-base hits in his last 10 games.
Fantasy Tip: Turner's ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) injury doesn't appear serious, so it's a bit of an unknown how much Seager will play this month as the Dodgers look to hold onto the National League West lead. Seager should already be owned in all keeper leagues, and he could be relevant in NL-only leagues, too, but his playing time could be sporadic.

Fantasy Tip: Seager is one of the top prospects in baseball. It's unknown how much he'll play, but he should be owned in NL-only leagues and is a watch list player in mixed leagues.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Andre Ethier is 7-for-15 with a double and two home runs against San Francisco Giants SP Mike Leake, who he faces Wednesday, Sept. 2. Ethier is also coming off an August in which he hit .375 with three home runs.
Fantasy Tip: Ethier ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is both hot at the plate and has good career numbers against Leake, which is a good combination for FantasyScore gamers. Ethier could be an excellent value pick tonight.
