Free-agent OF Yusniel Diaz and INF Omar Estevez agreed with the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday, Nov. 22. Diaz, 19, signed a $15.5 million deal, and Estevez's, 17, deal was worth $6 million. Both players defected from Cuba.
Fantasy Tip: Neither player is expected to have a big role in fantasy next season, but they enhance the team's pipeline.

Fantasy Tip: The Dodgers' pursuit of Zimmermann does not necessarily mean that the club will not go after fellow free agent SP Zack Greinke, although it's difficult to imagine Los Angeles potentially setting aside such a large portion of their payroll for Zimmermann, Greinke and Clayton Kershaw. The 29-year-old right-hander went 13-10 with a 3.66 ERA in 33 starts last season, with 39 walks and 164 strikeouts over 201 2/3 innings. The team he winds up signing with will impact his fantasy value somewhat but he should be considered as a solid No. 2 starter in seasonal leagues next year.

Fantasy Tip: The Dodgers bullpen was one of their glaring weaknesses in 2015, so this would make plenty of sense. O'Day would likely slot behind Kenley Jansen as an eighth-inning setup man. That'd keep his fantasy value limited to single-universe leagues, but if he performs anywhere as well as he has in the last few years, he can be relied on in deeper leagues for his peripherals.

Fantasy Tip: Kendrick was limited to 117 games in his first season in the National League, but his .295/.336/.409 slash line paralleled his career mark, and he flashed his ability to tip the scales across all fantasy categories. Kendrick is especially helpful in batting average, runs and RBI, and fantasy owners should view any power and speed contributions as a bonus. He checks out as a low-end starter at second base in the majority of seasonal leagues entering the 2016 season.

Fantasy Tip: Returning to the Dodgers should help Anderson continue his career resurrection. His ground-ball tendencies aided him in limiting opponents and posting a 3.69 ERA, but otherwise, his stats were mediocre at best -- 10 wins, 1.33 WHIP and 5.8 K/9. He should be viewed as a spot starter or streaming option in favorable matchup in the majority of seasonal leagues entering 2016.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Andre Ethier is set to become a 10-and-5 player in the first month of the next season, but general manager Farhan Zaidi said the Dodgers won't just trade Ethier to prevent him from those rights. As a player with 10 years of service time and the last five with the same team, Ethier would have the right to block any trade. Zaidi said Ethier fits well on the team's roster moving forward after he hit .294 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Ethier's big year in 2015 has kept him in the picture in the LA outfield, but he's unlikely to be anything more than a platoon player next year that sits against left-handed pitchers at age 34. He certainly will be useful in the right matchups on FantasyScore at a reduced cost, though.

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (knee) underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee last month. A piece of cartilage had torn off on the outside part of his knee, and Turner thinks that occurred in the playoffs. He'll be on crutches for two to four more weeks and is expected to start running at full strength in three months. Turner said he'll be 100% well before spring training.
Fantasy Tip: Turner had a breakout year with the Blue in a starting role and hit .294 with a career-high 16 home runs and 60 RBI mainly at third base. His knee surgery is definitely concerning for a player that before 2015 had only had 400-plus plate appearance once in his career, although that was mainly because he was a backup. Regardless, Turner is a risk to repeat the fine season he just had, especially since the Dodgers could bring in more bodies to compete at third base.

Fantasy Tip: Because of Murphy's heroics in the postseason, his fantasy price in 2016 is surely to be inflated. However, he could still continue to put up numbers that would justify a high pricetag, given his position of second base.

The Los Angeles Dodgers top free-agent target is to bring SP Zack Greinke back, with free-agent SP David Price (Blue Jays) a close second. The odds are that the Dodgers will get one of them. The San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox will likely be their main competitors for those arms.
Fantasy Tip: Greinke and Price will have their fair share of suitors this offseason, and rightfully so. Greinke had the lowest ERA in all of baseball this year and is a favorite for the NL Cy Young award. No matter where these two aces land in free agency, they are sure to be two of the first few starting names off the board in fantasy drafts next year.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are interested in re-signing 2B Chase Utley to be a left-handed hitting option at second and third base. OF Enrique Hernandez and 2B Jose Peraza are the leading options at second base if 2B Howie Kendrick leaves in free agency.
Fantasy Tip: At age 37 next year, Utley will never be an everyday player again, but he can be useful for a team in certain matchups as a guy off the bench. He hit just .202 with three home runs in 34 games for the Dodgers last year. Only single-universe managers should have any interest in Utley next year.

Free-agent 2B Howie Kendrick (Dodgers) is looking for at least a four-year deal. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals and Arizona Diamondbacks could all consider him.
Fantasy Tip: Kendrick is often overlooked in fantasy circles because he doesn't stand out because of his power, but he managed to hit .295 (137-for-464) with nine home runs and 54 RBI for the Dodgers in 2015. He's hovered around the .300 mark as a hitter for most of his career and brings average stability to your lineup in the later rounds.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig is being encouraged to become leaner over the offseason in an effort to improve the likelihood of him staying on the field and avoiding injuries. "He has continued to get bigger and stronger each year," president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said. "It may not be the optimal size for him to play 150 games, 150-plus games."
Fantasy Tip: Through his first three years in the league, Puig has averaged just 110 games per season, and he has never hit 20 home runs or stole 15 bases. The potential is there, and he has returned high-end results in stretches. Still, he should be viewed as an extremely risky No. 2 outfielder in yearly leagues entering 2016, and reaching too early for him on draft day is ill-advised.
Fri, 06 Nov 2015 18:25:51 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Kendrick has one week to accept the team's qualifying offer or become a free agent. If he signs with another club, the Dodgers would receive a compensatory pick in next year's draft. Kendrick hit .295 with nine home runs and 54 RBIs in 117 regular-season games this season and should be drafted in the middle rounds of NL-only and deep mixed fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson has one week to accept the team's qualifying offer or become a free agent. If he signs with another club, the Dodgers would receive a compensatory pick in next year's draft. Anderson went 10-9 with a 3.69 ERA in a career-high 31 regular-season starts this year, following several injury-plagued seasons. He should be drafted in the middle rounds of NL-only and deep mixed fantasy leagues next spring.
