Los Angeles Dodgers SP Scott Kazmir earned a no-decision in his start Tuesday, May 31, opposite the Chicago Cubs, but certainly deserved better based on his performance. He recorded six shutout innings, yielding only one hit and one walk. He also struck out seven.
Fantasy Tip: Kazmir was out to a sluggish start in his first year with the Dodgers, but now he's finally starting to return to form, as he's been sensational in his last two starts. In fact, Kazmir has allowed just a single run in 12 innings over that span, while accumulating 19 strikeouts as well. Considering the team he plays for, the veteran southpaw could start piling up wins if he can sustain his smooth pitching as of late.

Fantasy Tip: After a bit of a slow start in April, Seager has gotten into a rhythm in May in trying to establish himself as one of the best young shortstops in the league. He's been especially locked in as of late, as tonight's performance gives him four multi-hit efforts in his last five ballgames. Owners in daily games may want to attempt to capitalize on his success as of late, as he's clearly trending up.

Fantasy Tip: Guerrero hadn't played for the Dodgers this year, but he managed a .233 average with 11 home runs and 36 RBI in 106 games last year. He has decent pop for a utility player, and he could latch on with another organization and become relevant for depth in single-universe leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Wood owners are surely disappointed after he allowed two earned runs or fewer in his last four starts prior to his injury. In deep mixed and NL-only leagues he must remain stashed. Urias, the Dodgers' top pitching prospect, had a forgettable debut against the Mets last year but has tons of upside and should be owned in all formats. Just keep in mind that the Blue will limit his innings this year and could move him to a relief role eventually.

Fantasy Tip: Maeda bounced back with five shutout innings in his last start before yielding four earned runs in each of his previous three outings before that. His hand injury isn't believed to be serious, so he should miss just one start maximum. Maeda is a midrange fantasy starter in all leagues but is a bit more risky next time out if he toes the rubber.

Fantasy Tip: It's unfortunate for Wood owners, as the lefty had just started turning things around on the hill before his latest injury after he discovered a few notable mechanical tweaks. Stay tuned for more updates, but consider him a risky proposition if he winds up making his next start.

Fantasy Tip: Nobody should be looking to roll with Kendrick in daily setups Tuesday against one of the best all-around pitchers in baseball.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford is ambling along right at the Mendoza line. He is only worth using in NL-only fantasy leagues at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson isn't a great option outside of NL-only fantasy leagues in seasonal formats, but he is a nice salary saver option in DFS.
Mon, 30 May 2016 12:17:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Crawford sits at just 14-for-67 for the season with a .508 OPS. At this point, he isn't receiving enough playing time to be considered anything more than a low-end option in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues. Kendrick hasn't been much better (.236/.275/.314 line), but his track record gives him a longer fantasy leash.

Fantasy Tip: It remains unclear how long the setback will delay his return. If you have been stashing him, continue to do so, but you could be waiting a while before having him available.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw tossed nearly eight innings of solid baseball, with no walks and 10 strikeouts, but did not get the decision Sunday, May 29. His team came back in the ninth inning for a 4-2 win over the New York Mets. It would have been Kershaw's sixth victory in a row. Kershaw finished 5-0 with a 0.91 ERA in six May starts. He had 65 strikeouts and two walks during the month.
Fantasy Tip: Chalk this one up to manager Dave Roberts playing the percentages and coming up short. Kershaw still had solid numbers even in the defeat. He had a strong month of May and remains one of the top options in all of baseball.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Kenta Maeda (hand) said he will be able to make his next start Thursday, June 2, against the Chicago Cubs after taking a line drive off his pitching hand Saturday, May 28. X-rays were negative, and he said he has no pain.
Fantasy Tip: Maeda has cooled a bit after a hot start, and while his hand is supposedly fine, it isn't the worst idea to leave him on the bench against the powerful offense of the Cubs.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Trayce Thompson (back) is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 29, against the New York Mets. OF Yasiel Puig is in right field and will hit fifth against Mets SP Bartolo Colon.
Fantasy Tip: It seems like Thompson and Puig are going back and forth in right field and platooning a bit, but Puig had four of the seven starts this week. If Thompson and Puig continue this pure platoon, neither player is a solid fantasy start in weekly or annual leagues. However, DFS players can benefit from this situation. Thompson may come off the bench for pinch-hit duties Sunday night, but he should still be seated.
Sat, 28 May 2016 20:59:12 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Thompson has shown enough offensive upside to be owned in NL-only leagues, but check on his status moving forward to make sure he is safe to play.
