Fantasy Tip: Utley is 7-for-18 (.389) over his last four games and has bounced back nicely from a miserable 2015 campaign, when he hit .212 in 107 regular-season games. He is batting .330 through 91 at-bats on the road this season and should be viewed as a potential value play in daily fantasy contests.

Fantasy Tip: Team executive Andrew Friedman has not revealed if Urias will remain in the rotation or if this was a spot start for the highly-touted 19-year-old left-hander. There's a possibility that he could remain with the parent club as a reliever as the club attempts to limit his innings, with SPs Alex Wood and Hyun-Jin Ryu (elbow) on the verge of rejoining the rotation. Urias should remain stashed in all formats for now but check back for updates to see how the Dodgers plan to use him going forward.

Fantasy Tip: Kendrick started in left last time out, too, but he has been an underwhelming fantasy option since returning from injury with a .234/.277/.297 slash line. He is a fringe own in the majority of leagues at this point, but with that said, his track record suggests he should bounce back sooner than later. Crawford has been limited to just 262 plate appearances since the beginning of last season and has posted poor fantasy results (four home runs, 10 stolen bases and a .650 OPS). He should be left to the waiver wire outside of cavernous mixed and NL-only setups.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson had batted fifth in each of the past six games and owns a .289/.355/.538 career slash line through 248 at-bats. He is gaining fantasy value and is a viable option in deep mixed and NL-only leagues. Puig, meanwhile, has been extremely underwhelming this season with a .246/.287/.380 line and just 19 runs, five home runs, 19 RBI and four stolen bases. Stay patient with Puig for now, but he'll need to turn it around soon or there is a risk of losing playing time.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Julio Urias could stick in relief after his major league debut against the New York Mets Friday, May 27. Dodgers executive Andrew Friedman wouldn't say if Urias' start Friday is a spot start. The team will decide after the game what Urias' role is moving forward. Friedman also said it's more likely that the Dodgers rotation Urias between the bullpen and rotation than completely shut him down.
Fantasy Tip: The 19-year-old lefty is the Dodgers' top prospect this year and one of the top prospects in all of baseball. His numbers at Class AAA Oklahoma City (1.10 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 9.7 K/9) jump off the page. He should already be owned in all leagues, but temper expectations since there's a really good chance this is just a spot start with Alex Wood returning to the rotation and Hyun-Jin Ryu coming off the DL soon.

Fantasy Tip: It's a tough break for Wood, whose mechanical fixes recently have paid off in a big way. The lefty has allowed two earned runs or less in his last three starts and has struck out a whopping 27. After a minor injury, trusting him against a dangerous Cubs lineup is a sketchy proposition. You're probably better off skipping him this time around to be safe.

Fantasy Tip: The 19-year-old phenom has been filthy at Class AAA Oklahoma City at 4-1 with a 1.10 ERA, a 0.78 WHIP and 44 strikeouts in 41 innings. Urias may only be up for one start because Hyun-Jin Ryu is due back in a couple of rehab starts and because the team wants to limit Urias' workload. Urias could eventually be in the bullpen during the stretch run. Urias is expected to be a hot pickup universally, but he will probably have to set the world on fire to force the team's hand in keeping him in the rotation. He's worth snagging due to his potential, but bear in mind the pitfalls. If/when the team puts him in the bullpen, he could have solid value for ratios and K's.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder) threw four scoreless innings for Class AAA Oklahoma City on Wednesday, May 25. He surrendered four hits and struck out three in his 55-pitch outing. Ryu is set to make two more rehab starts.
Fantasy Tip: We haven't seen Ryu on a major-league mound since October 2014, but prior to his shoulder problems the lefty was a dynamic part of the Dodgers rotation -- 28-15, 3.17 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 293 K's in 344 career innings. It remains to be seen how effective he'll be after more than a year away, but the upside is such that he should be stashed in all NL-only and deeper mixed setups.
Wed, 25 May 2016 22:50:38 -0700
Los Angeles Dodgers SP Scott Kazmir struck out a dozen hitters in the team's 3-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, May 25. His final line: six innings, four hits, one run, two walks and 12 strikeouts. The 12 K's were Kazmir's highest total since September 2013.
Fantasy Tip: It was a nice bounce back for Kazmir, who got roughed up by the light-hitting Padres in his last outing. That's been par for the course this year as the southpaw has been up and down from one start to the next. He faces a much sterner test next time in the Cubs and Jason Hammel. We'll see if he can stack success.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig was not in the starting lineup on Wednesday, May 25, but manager Dave Roberts insists the decision to give Puig the day off was made before he removed the outfielder from the game on Tuesday night. "It's not punitive at all," Roberts said. "After the game we talked. He received everything well, so it's just moving forward."
Fantasy Tip: Puig came on for defensive purposes late in the game and struck out in his only at-bat. The Dodgers are off tomorrow before starting a three-game set with the Mets. Puig is a combined 3-for-22 in his career against New York's projected starters, so perhaps the extra rest will help him focus on a tough upcoming series.
Wed, 25 May 2016 16:08:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It's becoming apparent that the aging Crawford is more of a bench option for outfield depth. He hasn't started a game since May 19 and is hitting just .200 without a home run on the season. Crawford has zero steals, too. At this point, he's only a bench option in NL leagues. Kendrick hit his first home run of the year last Sunday and doesn't have a ton of upside these days as a utility player, either. Consider the 32-year-old a sleeper pick against a weak starter tonight.
Wed, 25 May 2016 15:59:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Puig was benched last night for not hustling out a hit that should've been a double. Skipper Dave Roberts is probably sending a message to the talented Puig, but the Cuban is hitting only .247 with five home runs and 19 RBI on the season. Puig is a midrange outfielder with a power-speed combination, but his ceiling isn't high as was previously thought. Thompson has excelled with the Dodgers this year and continues to start on a nightly basis. He should be owned in the majority of mixed leagues at this point and is a fine daily selection tonight.

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig was removed in the sixth inning of the team's game on Tuesday, May 24, for not running out of the batter's box following his single, according to manager Dave Roberts.
Fantasy Tip: Puig has been down this road before. And while it's a bit embarrassing, it's certainly a much better scenario than another injury for Puig. While he has struggled this season, he has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, raising his average 15 points in the process.
Tue, 24 May 2016 22:41:27 -0700
Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw threw his third shutout of the season on Monday, May 23, and in doing so became the first major-league pitcher to log three shutouts in his first 10 starts of a season since David Cone in 1994.
Fantasy Tip: Yet more evidence that Kershaw is as good as they get. Whatever his shortcomings may be come October, he's a legitimate ace for fantasy owners.
Tue, 24 May 2016 22:21:10 -0700
Fantasy Tip: There's no update yet on the severity of the injury but it would be a bad break for the 25-year-old Cuban if he has to miss any time, considering he's finally been heating up over the past week. While Puig is out, Carl Crawford, Trayce Thompson and Enrique Hernandez each get a boost.
