Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup against the Colorado Rockies Sunday, April 19, because of a left hamstring injury. He is listed as day-to-day. OF Andre Ethier will start in right field and bat fifth.
Fantasy Tip: Puig ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) went 2-for-3 Saturday, after having missed the previous three games with soreness in his hamstring, but still appeared to be in pain while running the bases and playing defense. Ethier ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is batting .292 through 10 games this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Carl Crawford (illness) is not in the starting lineup against the Colorado Rockies Sunday, April 19, because of flu-like symptoms. OF Scott Van Slyke will start in his place in left field.
Fantasy Tip: Crawford ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) will miss his second consecutive start due to illness but could be back in action when the team begins their road trip Tuesday, April 21. Van Slyke ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is a career .300 hitter against Rockies pitching and makes a good sleeper option in FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Ethier ($2,000, 4.0% of your cap) draws the start against Colorado Rockies SP Jordan Lyles. He's a late plug-and-play option on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: There is no official timetable for Puig ($5,300, 10.6% of cap), but it appears that he will be able to return to the lineup in a few days. Owners should avoid Puig until he continues playing.

Fantasy Tip: Ethier ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has recorded six hits and two RBI in his last four games. He could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.

Fantasy Tip: Puig's ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) return to the lineup will be delayed for at least one more day, so owners should continue to monitor the situation. Andre Ethier ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is taking his place in the lineup and could be a cheaper option for owners to consider.

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez, who set a franchise record with 19 hits through the first nine games of the season, said he has kept his approach at the plate simple to begin the year. He's now batting a major league-leading .528 and has reached base two or more times in each game this year. "I haven't really been trying to hit home runs in BP. I've just been trying to hit line drives up the middle. I think it's played out, especially when I've been facing lefties, where I've been hitting the ball up the middle, the other way, more than I did last year," Gonzalez said.
Fantasy Tip: While Gonzalez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) likely already reached his fantasy peak in 2015, he could very well be in the beginning of a return to the 30-homer mark if he can stay healthy. You should continue riding him at FantasyScore while he's scorching hot. A matchup against Colorado Rockies starter Kyle Kendrick looks juicy, too.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw was hurt by defensive shifts early in his loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks last weekend. "A lot of people do a lot of research and a lot of homework to put guys where they're supposed to be," Kershaw said. "You execute the game plan, the theory is they'll hit it where they are. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes, it doesn't." Manager Don Mattingly does not believe hitters have the ability to hit the ball where they desire to foil defensive shifts. However, Mattingly also said the team may need to alter their defensive approach to certain hitters if they prove that they are adept at beating the shift.
Fantasy Tip: Kershaw ($9,800, 19.6% of cap) remains one of the best pitchers in baseball, if not the best, despite his slow start to the 2015 season (0-1, 5.84 ERA in 12 1/3 innings). You shouldn't hesitate at all to use him in his next start at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) still needs to be avoided in all formats Wendesday, but it is encouraging he isn't likely to miss an extended period of time. Expect Crawford to return to the starting lineup against the Colorado Rockies Friday, April 17.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 16:27:44 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It is worth double-checking Puig ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) does in fact return Friday, but otherwise return him to your lineups with confidence. Opposing pitcher Kyle Kendrick doesn't evoke any matchup concerns, either.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 16:06:30 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It is unknown if it will impact his availability, and if it does, for how long. Consider Chris Hatcher the stronger saves candidate in the short term, though. However, neither have anything more than fleeting value in deep leagues, as Kenley Jansen will take over closing duties when he returns in mid-May.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 16:00:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Until otherwise reported, Jansen projects to return in mid-May, and he should be stashed in all formats. Jansen will close when he returns. Joel Peralta and Chris Hatcher should see the majority of save opportunities until Jansen returns. However, Peralta is currently dealing with a neck injury, so it may be Hatcher's role alone in the short term.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Carl Crawford is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 15. OF Scott Van Slyke is starting in left field and hitting sixth in the batting order against Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker.
Fantasy Tip: Van Slyke ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) isn't a bad FantasyScore option against Walker, who struggled mightily in his season debut last week. Last year, Van Slyke managed to hit .279 with three of his 11 home runs against right-handers in 104 at-bats.
