Fantasy Tip: Morse ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) managed just a .214 batting average in 173 plate appearances for the Miami Marlins this season. He is still just 33, and he should receive another major-league opportunity, but he likely won't have any fantasy value again this season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired SP Alex Wood, SP Mat Latos, 1B Michael Morse, RP Jim Johnson, RP Luis Avilan, 2B Jose Peraza and SP Bronson Arroyo as part of the a three-way trade with the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves Thursday, July 30. The Braves acquired 2B Hector Olivera, RP Paco Rodriguez, SP Zachary Bird and a draft choice, and the Marlins added SP Kevin Guzman, SP Jeff Brigham and RP Victor Araujo.
Fantasy Tip: Wood ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) and Latos ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) receive a huge boost starting for a strong team, which boasts an excellent offense and bullpen. They can both be started with confidence in the majority of matchups. Morse ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has struggled significantly this season, and he will have a tough time receiving enough at-bats to tip the fantasy scales. Johnson goes from closing duties in Atlanta to being a set-up arm for the Dodgers, and he is nothing more than a desperation saves stash, as he is unlikely even the next man up.

Atlanta Braves 2B Jose Peraza is included in the proposed deal with SP Alex Wood, RP Jim Johnson and RP Luis Avilan headed to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Miami Marlins would send SP Mat Latos and 1B Michael Morse to the Dodgers as well. The Marlins would receive P Jeff Brigham, P Victor Araujo and P Kevin Guzman. The Braves would receive RP Paco Rodriguez and 2B Hector Olivera.
Fantasy Tip: The deal is still pending because of physicals. Peraza probably doesn't have a role with the Dodgers this season, but he's a dynasty league commodity. Jim Johnson would lose much of his fantasy value as a setup man in LA. Arodys Vizcaino is expected to be the front runner to close in Atlanta if the deal goes through.

Detroit Tigers SP David Price is likely to land with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to some MLB executives who are absolutely convinced it will happen. The Dodgers will likely have to part with SP Julio Urias.
Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) is a FantasyScore stud, but a move to the NL would make him a monster.

The Detroit Tigers continue to dangle SP David Price, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are one of four teams in contact. The other teams are the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants and Toronto Blue Jays.
Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) is a fantastic pitcher, and the difference between Comerica Park and Dodger Stadium is negligible in terms of MLB Park Factors. He would continue to be a strong FantasyScore option if traded to L.A.

Fantasy Tip: Wood ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) is a very solid pitcher, but he could be even more valuable to FantasyScore players pitching for a contender. The difference between Dodger Stadium and Turner Field, in terms of MLB Park Factors, is rather negligible.

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (illness, leg) could require a stint on the disabled list, but the team needs to wait for the lab test results on his leg infection to determine if it is necessary, according to manager Don Mattingly.
Fantasy Tip: Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) is having a banner campaign, so fantasy owners will want to keep an eye on the situation and check back for updates. Alex Guerrero ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) stands to receive a boost in playing time for the duration of Turner's absence. Expect an announcement sooner than later.

Fantasy Tip: This serves as a reminder to always stray from making hasty fantasy decisions until trades are officially confirmed. Stay tuned for an official announcement, and it might only be a minor hiccup before the deal is finalized. Starting for the Dodgers would be a huge fantasy boost for Latos ($6,400, 12.8% of cap).

Fantasy Tip: Interestingly, Chavez ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) is starting against the Dodgers Wednesday, so Los Angeles will receive a first-hand look at the hurler. Chavez owns a crafty arm, but he is more of a matchup play than go-to starter, especially at FantasyScore. He would gain significant value starting for the Dodgers, though.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 15:44:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pederson ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is batting .185 with a .622 OPS, 15 runs, four home runs and 10 RBI over his past 36 games. The rookie has hit the wall, and he is currently likely overpriced at FantasyScore. It would be wise to look elsewhere. Still, those looking to go contrarian could chase upside with Pederson.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 15:38:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rollins ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) gains value setting the table for the Dodgers, however, he is having one of the worst seasons of his career, if not the worst. He has a .221/.293/.456 slash line in July, which doesn't turn heads, but Rollins does sport respectable counting stats with 11 runs, four home runs and 10 RBI this month. FantasyScore players could roll the dice with the veteran shortstop.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 15:33:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kershaw ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) has averaged 25.33 FantasyScore points without allowing an earned run over his past three outings. There may be a slight injury concern, and the Angels aren't a breeze-through lineup, but Kershaw has been as good as any hurler in the league of late. Start him with confidence in all fantasy formats Friday, including daily contests.

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (illness, leg) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 29. OF Alex Guerrero is starting at third base and batting eighth against Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Chavez Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) had to visit the emergency room Tuesday, July 28, because he had a bad reaction to an antibiotic he was taking for his leg. So this a situation to monitor going forward. Guerrero ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) started strong this season, but he is currently reeling through a 19-for-105 slump dating back to Thursday, May 14. There is upside, but FantasyScore players should likely wait for Guerrero to show some life at the plate before utilizing him in contests.

Updating an ongoing story, Detroit Tigers SP David Price is the trade target of preference for the Los Angeles Dodgers over Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels. The Dodgers believe they can re-sign Price.
Fantasy Tip: Seasonal fantasy owners will want to see how everything shakes out before jumping to any conclusions. Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) will remain a high-end fantasy starter, and he would receive a boost moving to the National League and starting for a better team. Hamels ($8,900, 17.8% of cap), meanwhile, stands to also receive a nice boost leaving Philadelphia, but it might not be enough of an upgrade to elevate him into fantasy ace. He'll likely remain a No. 2 arms for your virtual team.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw (hip) was scratched Wednesday, July 29, with SP Mike Bolsinger set to take the start against the Oakland Athletics. Kershaw will pitch either Saturday, Aug. 1, or Sunday, Aug. 2.
Fantasy Tip: Bolsinger ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has a 2.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP this month and makes a great SP2 on FantasyScore tonight.
