Fantasy Tip: Perez ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) entered the game riding a 2-for-27 funk with a .171 OPS, so his outburst Tuesday was a nice bounce back for his seasonal owners. At his cap hit, FantasyScore players will want to view him as a risky start until he shows more consistency at the plate.

Fantasy Tip: Moustakas ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) hit .188 (16-for-85) with three home runs and eight RBI in July but was benched for two games over the weekend. Hitting lower in the order isn't good for his daily value, either. Verlander has been solid in his last two outings, but he's still allowing 1.6 homers per nine innings. Moose makes for an under-the-radar play if you're looking to zig when others zag tonight.

Kansas City Royals 2B Mike Moustakas isn't in the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 2, against the Toronto Blue Jays. 3B Cheslor Cuthbert will start at third base and hit eighth in the order, while 2B Ben Zobrist will start in left field and hit second against RHP R.A. Dickey.
Fantasy Tip: Cuthbert ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Saturday against Mark Buehrle. Cuthbert shouldn't be used on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: After going hitless in his first two games with Kansas City, Zobrist ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) delivered in a big way Saturday. He should be a much steadier option at FantasyScore now that he is part of Kansas City's potent lineup.

Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas is not in the starting lineup Saturday, Aug. 1. 3B Cheslor Cuthbert is starting at third base and batting eighth against Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle Saturday.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Moustakas ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Saturday. He is likely just receiving a day off against the crafty southpaw. Cuthbert ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has gone 6-for-19 through six games to start his big league career, but he remains nothing more than a low-priced flier for FantasyScore contests Saturday.

Fantasy Tip: Zobrist ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has hit sixth in his first two games with the Royals, and stands to receive a fantasy boost hitting higher in the order. Zobrist is pricey, though, and their might not be enough juice for the squeeze to roster him at FantasyScore Saturday.

Kansas City Royals SP Chris R. Young will be removed from the starting rotation and head to the bullpen to make room for SP Johnny Cueto, according to manager Ned Yost. SP Jeremy Guthrie stays in the rotation for now.
Fantasy Tip: Young ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) what little value he had in much deeper leagues now that he's not starting. However, Guthrie may not be long for the rotation if he continues to be hit hard, so there may be an avenue for Young to hop back in and start some games down the stretch.

Kansas City Royals SP Jeremy Guthrie will remain in the starting rotation for now and will have his next outing against the Chicago White Sox, according to manager Ned Yost. However, Yost also said Guthrie will be evaluated "week-to-week."
Fantasy Tip: Guthrie ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has allowed 11 earned runs and four home runs in his last two starts to raise his ERA to 5.65 on the season. A matchup against the suddenly hot White Sox in his next start only makes things worse. Avoid Guthrie for now on FantasyScore, and he's only an option for owners in the deepest of leagues.
Thu, 30 Jul 2015 19:08:40 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Zobrist ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is right at his career average of .264 for this season, but his numbers should improve now that he is part of a solid Kansas City offense. Once he starts a hot streak, feel free to plug him in at FantasyScore.
Thu, 30 Jul 2015 13:34:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The acquisition of Ben Zobrist could wind up hurting Rios the most. Dyson ($3,800, 7.6% of cap), who has been very valuable for his speed for KC, could wind up in a platoon situation with either Zobrist or Rios. Dyson is a value pick on FantasyScore for his stolen base threat, but hitting at the bottom of the order limits his upside.

Fantasy Tip: Zobrist's ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) fantasy value is unlikely to change all that much with the Royals, although hitting in a better all-around lineup can't hurt. He's been hot lately, too, with 21 hits in 72 at-bats (.292) in July. Ride him while he's hot on FantasyScore, especially in hitter-friendly Toronto.

Fantasy Tip: The Indians were hitting just .211 against Guthrie ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) in two outings this season, but teed off on him Wednesday. He has a decent 3.96 ERA in 10 home starts, he a dismal 7.66 ERA in 10 road outings. FantasyScore players need not bother with Guthrie outside of Kauffman Stadium.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 18:17:13 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has hit safely in 11 straight games, hitting a robust .523 (23-for-44). He also had eight hits in the three-game set for the Indians, and is now hitting .429 (21-for-49) with five doubles, a triple, five homers and 19 RBIs against Cleveland pitching this season. FantasyScore owners will want to use him regardless of opponent right. But remember him when these teams tangle again Sept. 14-17 in Cleveland, and again Sept. 25-27 in K.C.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 07:27:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Butera ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) isn't a good option on FantasyScore.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 07:26:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Morales ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has a tough matchup against Corey Kluber, whom he is 3-for-13 (.231) against in his career. Morales isn't a good start on FantasyScore today.
