Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco Sunday, Oct. 4. OF Jarrod Dyson will start in center field and is batting ninth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Cain ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) probably will be ready for the playoffs but is out Sunday. Dyson ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has only three hits in his last 13 games and is not the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Cain ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has been one of the best all-around performers this year, and he should be one of the best options available at FantasyScore in the postseason.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) has been solid the last two months, and he should be a valuable option at FantasyScore in the postseason.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the near future. Orlando ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) was able to post a .306 batting average in September, but owners on FantasyScore likely will be able to find better options.

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales (quadriceps) is not in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Tommy Milone Saturday, Oct. 3. OF Jonny Gomes will serve as the designated hitter and is batting fifth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Morales ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) could be receiving another day off to rest his injured quadriceps. Gomes ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has only one hit in his last eight games and probably should be avoided by owners on FantasyScore.

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain (knee) and C Salvador Perez (thumb) will play against the Minnesota Twins Saturday, Oct. 3, while 1B Kendrys Morales (quadriceps) is expected to play Saturday.
Fantasy Tip: Cain ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) and Perez ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) can safely be returned to your seasonal lineups Saturday, but they're likely not high-end FantasyScore options. Morales ($5,300, 10.6% of cap), meanwhile, should be viewed as risky start in all fantasy formats Saturday. Continue to check back for updates.

Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain (knee), 1B Kendrys Morales (quadriceps) and C Salvador Perez (thumb) are not in the starting lineup Friday, Oct. 2. OF Alex Rios (back) is starting in right field and batting sixth against Minnesota Twins SP Ervin Santana Friday.
Fantasy Tip: The Royals are cruising into the playoffs, so there is no reason to risk aggravating a minor injury for one of their everyday players. In seasonal leagues, Cain ($5,600, 11.2% of cap), Morales ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) and Perez ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) aren't slam-dunk owns over the final weekend of the year, and FantasyScore players shouldn't be excited about rolling out any Royals against a surging Santana ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) who has posted a 1.47 ERA over his past six outings.

Kansas City Royals RP Wade Davis (back) was held out Thursday, Oct. 1, with a stiff back. RP Ryan Madson was used in the ninth inning instead against the Chicago White Sox. Manager Ned Yost said Davis' back isn't serious.
Fantasy Tip: Davis remains the Royals' closer with Greg Holland (elbow) having Tommy John surgery Friday, but it remains to be seen how much he'll pitch this weekend before the playoffs start.
Fri, 02 Oct 2015 09:05:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Royals are trying to get healthy before another playoff run, so there's probably a good chance we don't see Perez ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) in the lineup tonight, which makes him a risky daily selection. Make sure he's in the lineup if you want to take him.
Fri, 02 Oct 2015 09:03:27 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Morales ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) isn't dealing with a serious injury, but with the Royals trying to get healthy for the playoffs, there's a good bet he won't be in the lineup Friday night. Make absolute sure he's playing tonight before running with him on FantasyScore.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 21:39:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The injury doesn't sound serious, but check back on his status before using Morales ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) at FantasyScore over the next few days.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 14:52:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gomes ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has struggled (.143/.250/.238 slash line) since joining the Royals, but he boasts a respectable .830 slash OPS against left-handed pitchers this season, and he checks out as a solid low-priced option for FantasyScore players Thursday.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 22:36:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cain ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 14:07:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Seasonal players shouldn't look into this too closely, as it might just be a matchup tester against a left-handed pitcher, and the Royals will likely only face one more lefty this season. Still, it is something to monitor. For Wednesday, you can boost Escobar's ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) value at FantasyScore up a notch and lower Gordon's ($4,700, 9.4% of cap). However, Quintana ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) has allowed just four runs through his four September starts, so the Royals aren't ideal targets for daily players Wednesday.
Tue, 29 Sep 2015 16:37:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Holland will be out for all of next year, and Ryan Madson now enters the 2016 season as the favorite to close for the Royals. He'll be heavily targeted by fantasy drafters next spring.
