Kansas City Royals OF Jarrod Dyson (rest) is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 2. OF Paulo Orlando is starting in his place in right field and batting ninth versus Washington Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez.
Fantasy Tip: With a southpaw on the hill, Dyson gets the night off, as Ned Yost typically elects to bench him when facing a left-hander. His replacement, Orlando, isn't a very inspiring choice to lean on, as he's registered a grand total of zero extra-base hits and zero walks in his first 30 plate appearances. Owners should probably look elsewhere for deep outfield assistance.

Fantasy Tip: In the past, Moustakas would regularly sit with a lefty on the hill, as he hit below .200 opposite southpaws pretty much every season up until a couple of years ago. That's not the case anymore, but regardless, Colon is getting a rare start with Moose on the bench. Daily owners can quickly overlook him, as the 27-year-old backup doesn't offer potential in any formats.

Kansas City Royals RP Luke Hochevar's (elbow) elbow is feeling better, according to manager Ned Yost. He'll play catch this afternoon and is "probably" available for Monday, May 2, against the Washington Nationals.
Fantasy Tip: For those who participate in leagues that score holds, or just generally use Hochevar in deeper leagues for his desirable stats, it looks like he should be good to go again in fantasy lineups starting tonight. He was unavailable yesterday, but appears to already be over the issue.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura threw just half of his 82 pitches for strikes, and he managed just one strikeout for his fantasy owners. It was one poor outing after several good ones, so do not be alarmed just yet.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer is still hitting .347 (26-for-75) with 10 runs scored, three homers and seven RBIs over his past 19 games. He remains a must-start in all fantasy leagues despite Saturday's hitless performance.

Fantasy Tip: Orlando faces lefty Wade Miley. He has just one RBI but is hitting .296 on the season. He's a basement flyer worth consideration.
Fri, 29 Apr 2016 21:50:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It wasn't a pretty hit to extend his streak, but a hit is a hit. He remains a must-start fantasy option in all formats and a DFS steal as his career-high streak continues.
Wed, 27 Apr 2016 23:57:27 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hosmer is hitting .358 (24-for-67) with three homers and seven RBIs during the impressive hitting streak. He is a must-start fantasy option in all formats right now, and keep rolling with him in DFS regardless of the price tag until he cools off.
Wed, 27 Apr 2016 23:44:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hosmer has a .333-3-8 line on the season, so the damage was good for his otherwise unspectacular production during the streak. Keep him in your lineups.

Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 27. OF Jarrod Dyson moves to center field, which allows OF Paulo Orlando to enter the starting lineup. Orlando is in right field and is batting eighth against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Nick Tropeano.
Fantasy Tip: Tropeano has held his own so far at the major league level this year, making Orlando and Dyson low-end outfield plays in daily formats. Dyson should be owned in all fantasy formats for his speed, but he can struggle to reach base, and a low lineup position will make it hard for him to return daily value.
Tue, 26 Apr 2016 21:40:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hosmer hasn't hit for much power during the impressive streak, but it is impressive nonetheless. His 16-game run is the longest current streak, and longest in the majors in 2016 so far.
Mon, 25 Apr 2016 23:41:46 -0700
Fantasy Tip: He has only had multiple hits in one of the last 10 games, which has actually lowered his batting average 10 points to .315. He's still a daily consideration in the upper-middle area.

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez and 2B Omar Infante are not in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Mike Wright Sunday, April 24. 2B Christian Colon will start at second base and is batting seventh, while C Drew Butera will start at catcher and is batting ninth.
Fantasy Tip: Colon has collected only two hits in 10 at-bats this season and probably can be avoided in all leagues. Butera has received only three at-bats and is not a strong fantasy option.

Fantasy Tip: Medlen opened the year with two solid outings, but control issues finally caught up to him. He can be left on waivers.
Fri, 22 Apr 2016 21:08:33 -0700
Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and a run scored in a 4-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles Friday, April 22, and he has three doubles and three home runs over his last five games.
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas hit a career-high 22 homers last year, and he already has six after 15 games. With his power starting to come around, he is worth owning in all but the shallowest of leagues.
