Fantasy Tip: Martinez is healthy and currently hitting .341. He has limited position eligibility, but he is still worth owning in all formats.

Fantasy Tip: Saltalamacchia is batting .294 with six home runs and 17 RBI in 51 at-bats on the road in 2016 but most of this damage was done during the first few weeks of the season, so fantasy owners shouldn't be fooled. He's hitting just .171 (6-for-35) with one home run and four RBI during the month of May and should be avoided in all formats Saturday.

Detroit Tigers SP Michael Fulmer pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics Friday, May 27, to pick up his fourth win of the season. He allowed three hits during the game, while striking out three batters and walking one.
Fantasy Tip: Fulmer has pitched at least seven innings in his last two starts and has allowed only one run during that span. He is scheduled to face the New York Yankees in his next start and could be a sleeper option in some daily fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Kinsler has recorded at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games with five multi-hit games during that span. He should be in the starting lineup most days and is a solid starting option in all leagues.

Detroit Tigers SP Shane Greene (finger) will "ideally" have another rehab start with Class AAA Toledo, but the organization is also considering whether Greene is better suited to start or pitch out of the bullpen, bench coach Gene Lamont said Friday, May 27.
Fantasy Tip: Greene has a 6.80 ERA and 5.6 K/9 through 98 innings over the past two seasons. At this point, he is a desperation own and start in cavernous mixed and AL-only formats.

Detroit Tigers SP Jordan Zimmermann (groin) threw from flat ground on the field Friday, May 27, and he will throw a bullpen session Sunday, May 29, before the organization will determine if a stint on the disabled list is required.
Fantasy Tip: Zimmermann is 7-2 with a 2.52 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over nine starts, but like it has been for most of his career, he isn't striking out many batters with just 40 punchouts through 60 2/3 innings. If he avoids the DL, you shouldn't fret starting him in yearly leagues, but he is probably a little too risky for daily contests. Check back for the official word on what's next for Zimmermann.

Fantasy Tip: Upton has picked things up a bit from his dismal April, but he's still only hitting .225 (16-for-71) this month with no home runs and 28 strikeouts. We wouldn't blame you if you continue to bench him until he breaks out of this extended slump.

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler (illness) is back in the lineup in his customary leadoff spot against Oakland Athletics SP Sean Manaea Friday, May 27. As a result, OF Cameron Maybin moves down to seventh in the batting order.
Fantasy Tip: Kinsler should immediately thrown back into all starting lineups. The leadoff man has excelled this year with a .306/.354/.519 slash line with 10 home runs, 24 RBI and four steals. Maybin takes a bit of a daily hit but has been remarkable since he returned from the DL. Keep him in your lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Through 12 career starts, Boyd has a 7.46 ERA and 6.8 K/9. Those numbers don't play in any fantasy format, and he should be considered a desperation add in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. He has pitched well for Toledo, though, and boasts a 2.06 ERA with 41 punchouts through 48 innings, so there is some upside.

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez (3-6) allowed six runs (three earned) on eight hits over six innings in a loss to the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday, May 25, with one walk and five strikeouts. It marked the fifth consecutive start where he has given up at least four runs.
Fantasy Tip: Sanchez should be avoided in all formats due to his recent struggles, although his ERA actually dropped from 6.23 to 6.04 because three of the runs he allowed Wednesday were unearned. He is slated to make his next start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Tuesday, May 31.
Wed, 25 May 2016 09:13:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Moya has cooled after a strong start, and he's hitting .276 with two RBI this season. Aaron Nola has been great, but Moya is a sneaky low-end flyer in this potent offense.
Wed, 25 May 2016 07:21:23 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Maybin is 16-for-28 (.571) with a homer, five RBI and four steals to start his season. Aaron Nola is a tough matchup, but Maybin is a daily consideration at this juncture. Aviles is hitting .139 and has struck out 13 times in 36 at-bats. He's not worth consideration today.

Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander evened up his record to 4-4 on the year after beating the Philadelphia Phillies in his start Tuesday, May 24. He tossed eight shutout innings, scattering only three hits and two walks while tying a season high with 10 strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: This was pretty much vintage Verlander on display, as the former MVP and Cy Young winner contributed his best outing of the campaign. It was also the second straight start that Verlander struck out 10, and he's now gone seven innings or more in four consecutive outings, yielding just four combined runs over that span. As a result, the right-hander is a must-start pitcher right now.

Detroit Tigers SP Jordan Zimmermann (groin) plans to try some long toss Friday, May 27, and he could throw off a mound Sunday, May 29. After that, the Tigers will decide to either put him on the disabled list or start him against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Fantasy Tip: Zimmermann has been one of the better free-agent pitching acquisitions from last offseason. He's 7-2 with a 2.52 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in nine starts. A lack of strikeouts (5.9 K/9) has been the knock on him, though, and regression could be in store as the summer months approach. However, if he avoids the DL and starts against the Angels, he'd be a fine play everywhere.

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler (flu) has been scratched from the starting lineup Tuesday, May 24, due to flu-like symptoms. SS Mike Aviles, who was supposed to play in left field, has been moved to second base and will bat eighth. OF Cameron Maybin will now bat leadoff.
Fantasy Tip: Kinsler's absence shifted the lineup around for the evening, most notably with Maybin going to leadoff. He has been the Tigers' hottest hitter in the last week, and Maybin definitely carries increased fantasy value with that hot bat. Aviles' value is still nonexistent.
