Fantasy Tip: Farmer ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has made a few appearances for the Tigers this season and has struggled in each appearance. Owners on FantasyScore should avoid Farmer until he is able to record a few solid outings.

Fantasy Tip: Greene ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has allowed 17 earned runs in 13 2/3 innings this month with more walks (seven) than strikeouts (four) during that span. Greene does not much fantasy value as a relief pitcher, so he could be dropped in leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Romine ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is hitting .273 with three RBI in limited playing time this month but is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Detroit Tigers SP David Price could become available in a trade if the team struggles in their series against the Tampa Bay Rays this week, according to sources. The team is currently looking to acquire players at this point.
Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) likely would become a popular trade target for contending teams if he becomes available before the trade market. He has gone 9-3 with a 2.31 ERA and 134 strikeouts in 20 starts. Price should be a solid starting option against most teams.

Fantasy Tip: Simon ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) allowed at least four earned runs in all but his latest start over the weekend in the month of July. That means he's a bad option on FantasyScore his next time out, especially coming off an injury.

Detroit Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera (calf) ran on an anti-gravity treadmill before the game Sunday, July 26, and he will take batting practice with the team before their series against the Tampa Bay Rays starts Monday, July 27, according to manager Brad Ausmus.
Fantasy Tip: Cabrera ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) could be back in the middle of August if everything goes according to plan. As one of the best hitter's in the game, he can still make a pretty big impact for the remaining month and a half of the season as long as he doesn't have any recurrence of calf problems.

Fantasy Tip: This would put Miggy on the front end of his timetable to return and could keep the team from becoming sellers at the trade deadline. Keep Cabrera stashed on the DL.

Fantasy Tip: Castellanos ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has had three multi-hit games in his last five, logging three homers and eight RBI during the stretch. He could make a solid low-priced play at FantasyScore again Sunday against Boston starter Eduardo Rodriguez, who brings a 4.64 ERA into the game.

Fantasy Tip: This will be Avila's ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) seventh appearance and fifth start at first base this season. He is only batting .196 in 46 at-bats this month and is only hitting .161 away from Comerica Park, so he should be avoided in FantasyScore. McCann ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is batting .417 with a home run and seven RBIs through 36 at-bats this month and is worth consideration for FantasyScore lineups.
Sat, 25 Jul 2015 11:19:10 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is hitless in his last 12 at-bats and is 5-for-33 (.152) during the month of July. He should be avoided in FantasyScore today.
Sat, 25 Jul 2015 07:47:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cabrera ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) is still probably still a few weeks away from returning and may need to go on a rehab assignment. Cabrera is one of the best players in the league and probably will be a starting option most nights on FantasyScore when he returns to the lineup.
Fri, 24 Jul 2015 14:53:57 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cabrera ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) probably is still several weeks away from returning, so owners should continue to monitor his progress. Marc Krauss ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Jefry Marte ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) will continue to share time at first base but are not strong options on FantasyScore.
Thu, 23 Jul 2015 19:42:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kinsler ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has two homers, four doubles, four RBI and seven runs scored over the last four games, and he has looked sharp since the All-Star break. His price tag won't break the bank at FantasyScore, so feel free to stick with his hot bat until he cools off.
Thu, 23 Jul 2015 06:55:39 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Castellanos ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has a .333-2-5 line the last week and is hitting .311 in July. He's a good buy for the price on FantasyScore today.
Wed, 22 Jul 2015 20:01:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Castellanos ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is 5-for-7 in his last two games with two homers and five RBIs after having gone hitless in his previous five contests. He makes a nice value play in FantasyScore.
