Fantasy Tip: Iglesias ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is considered day-to-day at this point, so he could return soon. Machado will receive his first start of the season but should not be an option for fantasy owners at this point.

Detroit Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera (ankle) is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 25. INF Hernan Perez will start at first base. Manager Brad Ausmus said Cabrera has been dealing with a minor ankle injury but should be in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 26.
Fantasy Tip: Cabrera ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) could miss a day or two, but it does not appear like he is dealing with a serious injury. Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has recorded only two hits in 24 at-bats this season and should be avoided on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has not been himself this season, as most of his owners have realized. The club says there is no injury, but clearly something isn't right. Until he figures out what is up, you may want to leave Sanchez on your bench.

The Detroit Tigers have placed SP Kyle Lobstein (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list because of left shoulder soreness. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam Sunday, May 24. In a corresponding move, INF Dixon Machado was promoted from Class AAA Toledo. SP Buck Farmer will be recalled from Toledo to start in Lobstein's place against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Thursday, April 28.
Fantasy Tip: Farmer struggled during a brief stint in the majors last season but he has gotten off to a strong start at Toledo this year, posting a 5-1 record with a 2.98 ERA. His high strikeout totals could make him intriguing to owners in AL-only leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Holaday ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is going for just above the minimum price on FantasyScore and he's an option for owners wanting to punt the catcher position.
Sun, 24 May 2015 07:24:12 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Romine ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is benefiting from a .375 BABIP and he is hitting for a .310 batting average through 32 plate appearances. Romine has also stolen four bases already this season and he's a worthy flier on FantasyScore while going for the minimum price.
Sun, 24 May 2015 07:23:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has struggled against right-handed pitchers this season, hitting just .263 compared to .303 against left-handers. Astros RHP Roberto Hernandez certainly isn't someone to be scared of, but FantasyScore owners should temper expectations of Davis.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is a no-brainer to put in your lineup as he remains red hot at this point.
Sat, 23 May 2015 15:02:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Iglesias ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has had numerous small injuries affecting him in the past few weeks, but there hasn't been anything too serious. Watch and see what happens before you put him back in your lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Collins is expected to see increased playing time over the next few weeks as the designated hitter in the absence of Victor Martinez (knee). It is the third time in the last four games he has started at the position.
Fri, 22 May 2015 13:32:04 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Martinez ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) doesn't have a timeline for his return, and it could be a while longer than the normal 15-day DL stint. Rajai Davis ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) should benefit the most with more playing time in the DH spot, and he's been hot of late, making him a value play mainly for his speed at FantasyScore.
Fri, 22 May 2015 13:06:39 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has picked up a hit in four of his last five games and also has recorded a stolen base in each of his last two games. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using Davis as a cheaper option for their lineups.

Detroit Tigers RP Joakim Soria blew his first save of the season against the Houston Astros Thursday, May 21. He allowed one hit and an earned run while throwing 13 pitches. His ERA now stands at 1.42 on the year.
Fantasy Tip: Soria still remains one of the most valuable closers in the game despite his first blown save of the year. He's not striking out a ton, but he has a firm grasp on the ninth-inning job with Joe Nathan done for the year.
Thu, 21 May 2015 14:38:47 -0700
Detroit Tigers SP David Price gave up three runs (two earned) and struck out 12 in 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Houston Astros Thursday, May 21. He allowed five hits in the outing and walked just one hitter while throwing 69 of his 100 pitches for strikes.
Fantasy Tip: Price ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) was certainly worth his cost at FantasyScore against the Astros, who came into the game ranked second in the league in strikeouts. The veteran left-hander has had some shaky outings this year, but he should be fine in the long run, and this start today confirms that.

Fantasy Tip: Castro ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has struggled mightily this season, but he has hit three home runs over his past seven games, so maybe an uptick in production is coming. Make sure to avoid him in all fantasy formats Thursday. Conger ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) doesn't warrant attention in any fantasy formats, as he is just 5-for-32 this season.
