Colorado Rockies news, rumors and injuries

Fantasy Tip: Despite the impressive streak, Tulowitzki ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) had gone eight straight games without a homer and six straight without an RBI prior to Sunday. You could be better served spending up on other big names when assembling your lineup at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Paulsen ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitless in 14 at-bats against Arizona this season and is batting just .214 over the past week. FantasyScore owners should look elsewhere for options at first base.
Sun, 05 Jul 2015 11:56:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Arenado ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) appears to be getting a scheduled day off. Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting just .206 and is not a great FantasyScore option.

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is back in the starting lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa Sunday, July 5, batting cleanup and playing right field. OF Brandon Barnes, who played right field Saturday, July 4, is playing left field and batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) and Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) have each had success against De La Rosa, albeit with small sample sizes. Gonzalez is 2-for-4 in his career against the righty, while Barnes is 1-for-3. On the other hand, both hitters have combined to go 6-for-44 (.136) over the past week, so it's not a lock that they'll be productive in FantasyScore today.
Sun, 05 Jul 2015 11:48:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: McKenry ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is only hitting .211 against righties this year and .159 away from Coors Field. Avoid using him in FantasyScore this afternoon.
Sun, 05 Jul 2015 05:31:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hale ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) hasn't won since June 8, and he has struck out just eight batters over his last three starts. Hale isn't a FantasyScore option at home or on the road.
Sat, 04 Jul 2015 23:34:06 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) provided one of the lone bright spots in an otherwise bad outing for the Rockies. Keep him active as long as this streak continues.
Sat, 04 Jul 2015 16:03:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Axford should resume closing duties immediately. Get him back in your lineups.
Sat, 04 Jul 2015 15:04:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is in a 2-for-17 slump (.118) the last seven days and isn't a good option on FantasyScore.
Sat, 04 Jul 2015 05:19:46 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Over his past 22 games, Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has a .317/.348/.508 slash line with eight runs, three doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI. While the stats may not jump off the page, Rosario's catcher eligibility will keep him fantasy relevant as along as he is hitting. FantasyScore players can turn to him in favorable matchups, and especially when those outings are being played at hitter-friendly Coors Field.
Fri, 03 Jul 2015 15:33:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners should count on Axford returning to the closer role, and he is a low-end source of saves for seasonal owners. It isn't out of the question to hold LaTroy Hawkins, either, especially if you're in a desperation saves chase.
Fri, 03 Jul 2015 04:30:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should be back in action Friday, but keep an eye out nevertheless. He is hitting .296 in 75 games, making him a decent option in FantasyScore and other formats.
Fri, 03 Jul 2015 04:26:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) should be started in all formats as long as he is hitting like this. He appears to have shaken the injury bug and is a bright spot on an underrated Rockies squad.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 18:51:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been earning some more playing time recently, and he has been strong at home all season where he is hitting .387 with a 1.010 OPS. When he is in the lineup at Coors Field, he is worth considering as a cap-friendly play at FantasyScore.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 18:24:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: At his best, Stubbs offers an intriguing combination of power and speed. However, he is hitting just .118 in 24 games this year and has given fantasy owners no reason to trust him. Until he shows signs of life, he can be ignored at FantasyScore.
