Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes pleaded not guilty Tuesday, Nov. 24, to a charge of domestic abuse. Reyes' next court date is scheduled for Jan. 24. MLB is investigating the "facts and circumstances" of Reyes' arrest.
Fantasy Tip: The MLB has a new policy surrounding domestic abuse, so it's entirely possible that Reyes is suspended for some time because of these charges. That'll probably drop his price a bit in fantasy drafts next year, too, depending also on whether he remains at hitter-friendly Coors Field -- Reyes has been involved in trade speculation.

Fantasy Tip: Colorado will surely be looking for some relief help this winter. As it stands now, Tommy Kahnle (two saves in 2015) would be the primary candidate to serve as closer in 2016. Depending on who the Rockies bring in to compete in the late innings, this'll probably be a situation that's not high on fantasy owners closer picture in drafts.

Fantasy Tip: The 30-year-old outfielder hit .271 with 40 home runs and 97 RBIs in a career-high 153 games last season, although the Coors Field factor made his numbers at home (.299-24-61) look significantly better than his stats on the road (.243-16-36). He should be one of the top outfielders selected in all formats, although it shouldn't be surprising to see his numbers dip if he calls somewhere other than Colorado home next season.

Fantasy Tip: Simmons hit 17 home runs during the 2013 season, but he has hit just 11 since, and he owns a .252 batting average over his past three seasons. He is a low-end middle infield option in deep mixed leagues, and nothing more than a mid-tier shortstop in NL/AL-only leagues. Continue to check back for updates, as it appears Simmons is likely to wear a new uniform in 2016.

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes was arrested Oct. 31 on suspicion of abusing a family or household member in Hawaii, according to television station KHNL. His wife told police Reyes grabbed her by the neck and shoved her into a sliding-glass door, according to multiple reports. Reyes could become the first player subject to Major League Baseball's domestic violence policy, which was agreed upon by MLB and the players' association in August.
Fantasy Tip: Reyes' skills have begun to decline with age, but he was still a midrange option at a thin position. Stay tuned to see if he will be disciplined by the league before drafting him.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy hit .281 with 14 home runs, 38 doubles and 73 RBIs in 130 regular season games and had an outstanding postseason, batting .328 with seven home runs and 11 RBIs while picking up NLCS MVP honors. He would be an improvement over the combination of Justin Morneau and Wilin Rosario, who platooned at the position for much of last season for Colorado. Murphy could wind up being drafted earlier than he should be in many fantasy leagues in 2016 based mainly on his playoff heroics.

Fantasy Tip: Morneau had a nice renaissance in Colorado, but his concussion issues resurfaced. If he lands in the right situation, he could be an option at the end of traditional drafts.

The Colorado Rockies have declined their mutual option with 1B Justin Morneau for the 2016 season. He would have earned $9 million next year if the team had decided to keep him but he will receive a $750,000 buyout instead.
Fantasy Tip: The 34-year-old Morneau will now become a free agent. He hit .310 with three home runs and 15 RBIs over 168 at-bats but has been plagued by injuries over the last few seasons. Don't be surprised if he latches on with an American League team that can give him an opportunity to serve as a DH.

Colorado Rockies manager Walt Weiss will return to the team in 2016 after meeting with general manager Jeff Bridich Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Rockies have gone 208-278 and finished dead last in the National League West this year at 68-94. Weiss has one year left on his contract.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is batting .267 with one home run and seven RBIs since Sept. 1, and should be considered by FantasyScore owners who are searching for a value option at first base today.
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 17:53:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Regardless of who starts behind the plate for the Rockies in the season finale, they aren't a great option at FantasyScore.
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 11:33:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) is batting .412 (21-for-51) with a home run and seven RBIs against the Giants this year and is 2-for-5 versus Peavy in his career. He makes an excellent choice at the keystone position for your FantasyScore lineups today.
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 11:10:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is batting .265 with three home runs and nine RBIs through 34 at-bats this season. He can be viewed as a productive source of salary cap relief in FantasyScore.

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Jake Peavy Saturday, Oct. 3. OF Corey Dickerson will play center field and bat second Saturday, while OF Ben Paulsen will play left field and hit seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Dickerson ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is batting .286 with four home runs and 10 RBIs since Sept. 1, and is hitting .304 against San Francisco this year, making him a decent FantasyScore option today. Paulsen ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is batting just .224 over the same time period, and isn't a great choice for daily lineups.
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 10:35:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Remove Reyes ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) from all fantasy lineups. Adames ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) should be viewed as nothing more than salary cap relief in FantasyScore.
