Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run in a 5-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds Sunday, May 25, and he is 7-for-9 with two home runs, seven RBIs and four runs scored over his last two games.
Fantasy Tip: Arenado ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) had been stuck in a rough patch, but he has erupted in the last two games. With Colorado facing the slumping Cincinnati Reds for a couple more games, you may want to jump on the Arenado bandwagon at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Blackmon ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has shown an intriguing combination of power and speed, and he is on pace for 23 home runs and 38 steals. He makes a solid play at FantasyScore when he is facing a right-handed pitcher.

Updating a previous report, Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon will play against Cincinnati Reds Monday, May 25, after OF Carlos Gonzalez (illness) was scratched from the lineup. Blackmon will bat first in the starting lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Blackmon ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) was scheduled to receive the day off but will play with Gonzalez out. He is hitting only .237 this month but has hit four of his six home runs in May. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using him in their starting lineups.

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (illness) has been scratched from the starting lineup Monday, May 25, because of an illness. OF Brandon Barnes will move to right field, and OF Charlie Blackmon will start in center field.
Fantasy Tip: Owners should look for an update on Gonzalez ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) after the game to see if he will miss multiple games. Blackmon ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) was scheduled to sit out the game but will take Gonzalez's spot in the lineup and could be a solid starting option.

Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) should return to the lineup in the near future. Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting only .203 in limited playing time this season and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Blackmon ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) probably is receiving a day off and should return soon. Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has gone 8-for-13 since being recalled by the Rockies and could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is receiving the day off. Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is 7-for-10 since being called up a few days ago and is worthy of consideration as a low-cost flier in FantasyScore.
Sun, 24 May 2015 12:38:19 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) offers salary cap relief for FantasyScore owners but is only batting .200 with two home runs and 11 RBIs this season. You can probably find better options for a slightly higher price.

Fantasy Tip: Hale isn't guaranteed any more starts, despite a strong audition. Hale could make for a stream option the next time he is slated to be in the rotation.
Sun, 24 May 2015 06:04:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has two home runs, four runs scored, 11 RBI and a stolen base in just 60 plate appearances this season. For a minimum-price option, Descalso can offer some upside on FantasyScore on the rare occasion he starts in the field.

Fantasy Tip: Daily players could take a low-priced flier on Paulsen, as he draws a favorable matchup against Ryan Vogelsong Friday. Paulsen has fleeting value in NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, although, he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a desperation add.

Fantasy Tip: Ottavino won't be an option for 2016 fantasy drafts, but the fact that he's doing well shortly after the surgery could point toward Ottavino returning at some point next season.

Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) went just four and a third innings, allowing five hits, three walks and three earned runs. De La Rosa owned a strikeout rate of 10.03 per nine innings entering this game, but he didn't help his 6.56 ERA. An xFIP of 3.33 shows that De La Rosa should turn this around eventually, but he'll be a risky FantasyScore play until he does.

Fantasy Tip: Barnes received extensive playing time as a member of the Houston Astros in 2013 and the Rockies last year but never made much of his opportunities. Considering the Rockies already have a loaded outfield, there's probably little to take in here, especially since Barnes could produce only a .205/.266/.364 batting line in the minor leagues. Barring another injury to Colorado's outfield, Barnes is only a DFS play on FantasyScore.

Colorado Rockies 1B Justin Morneau (concussion) will not return to the team when he's eligible to come off the 7-day disabled list, and he'll be at least a few more days, according to manager Walt Weiss.
Fantasy Tip: You have to be at least a bit concerned with Morneau given his history with concussions in his time with the Minnesota Twins. In the meantime, Wilin Rosario ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has been a real nice value play since being recalled from the minors. He's hitting .293 (12-for-41) with a home run and five RBI in May.
