Fantasy Tip: Bourgeois ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has been playing much more frequently with Billy Hamilton (shoulder) sidelined. He entered the game with a .294/.345/.373 slash line over his past 13 games, and left with another respectable outing. Bourgeois is nothing more than an NL-only and cavernous mixed league option, but he does boast sneaky FantasyScore value at his low cap hit.

Cincinnati Reds SP Raisel Iglesias scattered two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out 10 batters over seven innings during the Reds' 7-4 win over the Chicago Cubs Wednesday, Aug. 2. Iglesias did not factor into the decision.
Fantasy Tip: Iglesias ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) has reached double-digit strikeouts in each of his past three starts, and he has now gone seven consecutive outings allowing three earned runs or fewer. He has emerged as a solid option who should be owned in all seasonal leagues and started with confidence in the majority of matchups.

Fantasy Tip: Votto ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is already one of the more safe FantasyScore first basemen because of his consistent ability to reach base, but when he's swinging this well, you need to ride him.

Cincinnati Reds SS Eugenio Suarez is hitting .280 with 11 home runs and 38 RBI in 261 at-bats this year for the Reds, and he's been a pleasant surprise from them at shortstop after mainly being a defensive-minded shortstop before this. "My power is my natural power," Suarez said. "I don't try to hit the ball out of the field. My swing is really hard. I just try hitting the ball hard. The ball flies when I hit sometimes."
Fantasy Tip: Suarez ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has also been a godsend for his fantasy owners that plucked him off the waiver wire after Zack Cozart suffered a season-ending injury. His surprisng power plays even nicer at the shortstop position. It remains to be seen where he'll play next year in Cincy with Cozart returning, but if he continues to hit, the Reds will likely find playing time somewhere for him.

Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton (shoulder) resumed throwing Wednesday, Sept. 2, for the first time since his injury Aug. 18. Manager Bryan Price said Hamilton is pain-free in his activities. Hamilton is unlikely to be able to rehab in games in the minor leagues with the season ending in five days.
Fantasy Tip: Hamilton ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) must be retained in all leagues because of his world-class speed. He could still push you over the top in the stolen base category if he's able to return sometime in this final month of the season.

Fantasy Tip: It was just the second home run for Bruce ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) in August, and he owns a .154/.183/.298 slash line for the month. He has potential, but FantasyScore players should view him as nothing more than a dice roll at this point. In seasonal formats, a long hard look at alternatives is warranted.
Sun, 30 Aug 2015 05:26:11 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Frazier ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has cooled off significantly since the All-Star break and owns a disappointing .222/.264/.389 slash line with just five home runs and 20 RBI. Seasonal owners can only hope he can string together a solid run to finish the season, as he was a team carrier through the first three months of the season. FantasyScore players will want to be picky with when they utilize Frazier at his cap hit, though.
Sat, 29 Aug 2015 11:32:23 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Bourgeois ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has hit safely in eight of his last nine games and is batting .268 in 41 at-bats this month. If you're looking for a low-priced flier in FantasyScore, consider him.
Sat, 29 Aug 2015 11:26:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Barnhart ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is batting .357 over the past week and is 1-for-2 versus Garza in his career. FantasyScore owners looking for cap relief may want to consider him for their lineups tonight.
Sat, 29 Aug 2015 11:24:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Schumaker ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is batting .294 over the past week and is 6-for-17 (.353) with a double versus Garza in his career, making this a favorable matchup for him. FantasyScore owners in need of cap relief should keep him in mind for their lineups tonight.
Fri, 28 Aug 2015 14:06:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pena ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) grabs a nice value boost hitting atop the lineup. Still, he you'll want to keep your expectations in check. Pena's on-base percentage (.340) is higher than his slugging percentage (.319), after all. He is nothing more than an endgame lineup filler at FantayScore Friday.
Thu, 27 Aug 2015 17:37:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: DeSclafani ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) had his sixth quality start in his last seven outings but received no run support Thursday afternoon. He will make his next start Tuesday, Sept. 1, against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Thu, 27 Aug 2015 07:05:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Toddfather ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has a .221-4-18 line in 149 at-bats since winning the Home Run Derby. He has a tough draw against Greinke and might not be the best play on FantasyScore.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 21:19:56 -0700
Cincinnati Reds SP David Holmberg (1-4) allowed six runs on seven hits over 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, Aug. 26, with two walks and one strikeout. He allowed three home runs in the fourth inning before being removed from the game.
Fantasy Tip: Holmberg ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) and manager Bryan Price both agreed that lack of command has led to his inconsistency and he plans to work on repeating his delivery between starts. He is scheduled to make his next start at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs Monday, Aug. 31.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 21:10:52 -0700
Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton (shoulder) is not close to resuming baseball activities. He is still required to wear a shoulder harness for periods of time every day and participates in physical therapy.
Fantasy Tip: As one of the most feared baserunners in the league, Hamilton ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) should remain stashed in all fantasy formats despite his subpar offensive numbers. Jason Bourgeois ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) and Skip Schumaker ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) will continue to platoon in center field but should be ignored in FantasyScore.
