Fantasy Tip: Although his streak ended, Votto ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) re-established himself as one of the top hitters in baseball in 2015. He should be an early round pick in seasonal leagues next year, and a first-round option if your league includes OPS as a category.

Fantasy Tip: Frazier ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has had a rough second half with a .223-10-31 line. He's not a good FantasyScore option for the price against Jason Hammel today.

Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier and 1B Joey Votto are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 30. 2B Ivan De Jesus is starting at third base and hitting eighth, while 3B Adam Duvall is at first base and is batting sixth against Chicago Cubs SP Jon Lester.
Fantasy Tip: Neither De Jesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) nor Duvall ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) should attract your attention on FantasyScore as worthwhile gambles as deep sleepers tonight.

Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier (Achilles') left the game Tuesday, Sept. 29, against the Chicago Cubs due to a slight strain of his right Achilles' tendon. He suffered the injury attempting to make a sliding catch in foul territory.
Fantasy Tip: Frazier ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) is an injury risk for FantasyScore players heading into Wednesday. Avoid him until he can play a full game without any lingering effects of the injury.

Cincinnati Reds SS Zack Cozart (knee) is confident he'll be ready to go when spring training starts next year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee this season. He isn't yet allowed to make sharp cuts or quick turns but is doing agility drills, playing catching and doing a normal weight-lifting routine. Cozart will be fitted for a support brace before Thanksgiving.
Fantasy Tip: Cozart was having a career year at the plate before he went down with injury. The unfortunate part is that Eugenio Suarez came in and played even better offensively. It's hard to say how the shortstop position will shake out for Cincy in 2016, but one has to believe that it's Suarez's job to lose, meaning Cozart should be an afterthought in fantasy drafts next year unless something changes between now and then.

Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton (shoulder) will not give up switch hitting but the team considered asking him to hit strictly right-handed, his natural side. Hamilton hit .220 lefty this year and .241 from the right side. He had surgery Tuesday, Sept. 29, to clean debris from his right shoulder, and he'll be in a sling for a couple weeks. He will begin offseason workouts in four to six weeks.
Fantasy Tip: Hamilton's injury shouldn't affect his availability for the start of next year, and it doesn't affect his most prized asset -- his legs. Hamilton is easily the most gifted base stealer in the majors, and he'll probably continue to be slightly overvalued in fantasy drafts because he gives you a huge advantage over the competition in that one category.

Fantasy Tip: Even though Scherzer, the Nats' ace, has struggled some in the second half of the season, De Jesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is a weaker daily option that should be avoided this afternoon.
Mon, 28 Sep 2015 04:38:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Votto ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) has seen his average rise to .318 as the result of his success on base, so he is worth playing in FantasyScore as long as this keeps up.
Mon, 28 Sep 2015 04:36:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Sampson ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) was largely nicked up by a patchwork Mets lineup with several starters getting a rest the day after clinching the National League East. That doesn't bode well for his success the rest of the way in 2015 and casts a shadow on whether he will be a 2016 rotation candidate.
Sat, 26 Sep 2015 10:36:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: De Jesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is 4-for-12 with three RBIs over the past week and is batting .308 against the Mets this season. He should be considered a low-priced flier in FantasyScore.

Cincinnati Reds SP Homer Bailey (elbow) threw what he believes is his fourth or fifth bullpen session Friday, Sept. 25. Afterward, he said that it "feels like nothing happened." Bailey is expected to return to his normal offseason conditioning schedule by December.
Fantasy Tip: This is promising news for Bailey, who underwent Tommy John surgery in May and is expected to return sometime during the 2016 season. As a result, he should come at a deep discount in fantasy drafts next year.

Fantasy Tip: At this point, it appears Tejada ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is the everyday starter at the 6 for the Mets. And while he has been playing well of late with a .390/.457/.537 slash line in September, Tejada owns a career .656 OPS and shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a fleeting fantasy contributor. Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) isn't worth owning in the majority of seasonal leagues because of his inconsistent playing time.

Cincinnati Reds C Devin Mesoraco (hip) anticipates being completely healthy by the time spring training rolls around. He has been performing agility drills and other exercises and said that his range of motion feels good. Mesoraco hasn't resumed squatting in the catcher's position and has been asked not to do so for a few more weeks, although he has been allowed to do half squats. He is expected to begin doing baseball activities such as hitting and throwing on Dec. 1.
Fantasy Tip: After being one of the top catchers selected in most fantasy baseball drafts, Mesoraco hit just .178 with two RBIs in 45 at-bats before shelved for the remainder of the season due to a left hip impingement. Assuming he returns to his 2014 form, seasonal owners could get him at a relative bargain in next season's drafts because of his injury history.
Thu, 24 Sep 2015 12:15:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: De Jesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) boasts a .271/.321/.458 slash line against left-handed pitchers over 53 plate appearances this season. Still, FantasyScore players shouldn't view him as anything more than a low-priced flier.
Thu, 24 Sep 2015 12:04:53 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) hasn't been receiving consistent playing time with just 13 starts in September. He has been solid when called upon, though, with a .298/.332/.436 slash line since Wednesday, July 1. Tejada ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has the better mitt at the six, and he has held his own at the dish this season with a .350 on-base percentage. However, he remains a low-end option in all fantasy formats, including at FantasyScore.
