Chicago White Sox SP Carlos Rodon threw a batting practice session Tuesday, Feb. 24, and he worked on fastball command and the changeup. C Geovany Soto said Rodon had "electric stuff, and he was impressive by Rodon's changeup which is deemed a work in progress.
Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain if Rodon has a chance to break camp with the team and what role he would fill, but fantasy owners need to pay very close attention to him in the spring. If he can somehow crack the Chicago rotation the sky is the limit fantasy-wise.

Chicago White Sox SP John Danks has lowered his arm angle and his leg kick upon pitch delivery, in an attempt to cut down on the number of home runs he has given up. Danks said the mechanical adjustments, which actually went into effect during the final month of last season, have improved his command and added some sink to his fastball, in addition to resulting in more ground balls being hit.
Fantasy Tip: After making the adjustments, Danks posted a 3.94 ERA and allowed just one home run in 29 2/3 innings over five September starts. Heis worth monitoring and should be considered in the later rounds of drafts for AL-only and deep mixed leagues.

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu will likely slide over to designated hitter or rest a couple of times a week with 1B Adam LaRoche in tow. General manager Rick Hahn said Abreu's foot and ankle issues that hobbled him in May could have affected him the rest of the season. Abreu is preparing to play the full 162-game season after wearing down the last two months, but LaRoche's presence could facilitate weekly DH or rest days to keep Abreu fresh.

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia (shoulder) has lost a considerable amount of weight this offseason and is feeling great heading into the 2015 season. "I feel great," Garcia said. "Really good because I need to get in shape. I need to get ready for October. Everybody is on the same page. We want to play in October and hopefully everything works for us this year." Garcia posted a slash line of .312/.366/.528 with five home runs and 22 RBI and four stolen bases in 142 plate appearances in the Venezuelan Winter League, too, showing that he is well on his way to being fully recovered from a torn labrum in his shoulder last year.
