Fantasy Tip: An illness has been working its way through the White Sox, and it seems like LaRoche ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is the latest victim. Check on his status over the next couple of days before considering him at FantasyScore, but since the notoriously slow starter is hitting just .211, he isn't a great option even if he is 100%.

Fantasy Tip: The whole White Sox rotation is struggling, but you have to wonder if Danks ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) and Noesi ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) will have a short leash. With Carlos Rodon ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) being stretched out, one or both of these pitchers could lose a starting spot. It's best to avoid both.

Fantasy Tip: Flowers ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is receiving another day off but should return soon. Soto ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is only .115 at the plate this season and should not be a starting option on FantasyScore.
Sun, 03 May 2015 10:38:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gillaspie ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Beckham ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has not received a lot of playing time this season but has gone 7-for-20 with one home run and four RBI. Beckham is not the best option for owners on FantasyScore to use but could be a cheaper option to consider.
Sun, 03 May 2015 10:33:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Shuck ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has started the last two games and recorded two hits in those games. Shuck is not the best option for owners to consider, but owners looking to save some money could consider using him.
Sun, 03 May 2015 10:32:43 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see when Eaton ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) will be able to return. J.B.Shuck ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) receives another start and is coming off a game where he went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Owners could consider him as a cheap option on FantasyScore but should be able for find another option.

Updating a previous report, Chicago White Sox RP/SP Carlos Rodon is improving and being stretched out in a long-relief role, according to manager Robin Ventura. Rodon is a spot-start candidate for Thursday, May 7, against the Detroit Tigers or Sunday, May 10, against the Cincinnati Reds, if SPs Chris Sale and Jeff Samardzija drop their five-game suspension appeals.
Fantasy Tip: Rodon's ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) innings are being limited to utilize him out of the rotation later in the season. With Hector Noesi (0-3 with a 6.75 ERA after his start Saturday, May 2) and John Danks (enters his start Sunday, May 3 with a 1-2 record and a 5.64 ERA) struggling, it is only a matter of time before Rodon enters the starting rotation. Rodon holds value in the majority of seasonal leagues pitching out of the bullpen, too.

Chicago White Sox SP/RP Carlos Rodon could make a spot start appearance Sunday, May 10, against the Cincinnati Reds, if SPs Chris Sale and Jeff Samardzija drop their five-game suspension appeals. "He's going to be pitching regularly and there are things coming up that, believe me, he's way up in the front of our minds in keeping him ready," pitching coach Don Cooper said.
Fantasy Tip: For now, Rodon ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) will continue to pitch out of the bullpen in high-leverage situations. However, Hector Noesi is 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA after his start Saturday, May 2, and John Danks enters his start Sunday, May 3, with a 1-2 record and a 5.64 ERA, so Rodon doesn't have stiff competition. The White Sox will ease him into the rotation as a means to also limit his innings. Rodon is worth rostering in the majority of formats, as he can help your ratios while pitching out of the bullpen, too.

Fantasy Tip: Eaton ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) could be out a few more days because of his illness. Shuck ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has not been much of a factor at the plate this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.
Fri, 01 May 2015 15:25:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: J.B. Shuck ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is replacing Eaton in center field tonight and is hitting ninth. He shouldn't be considered at FantasyScore, though.
Fri, 01 May 2015 14:09:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Eaton ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) hit only .192 (15-for-78) with one stolen base in April, and it's probably a good idea to bench him in standard leagues until he shows signs of life. Shuck ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a weak flyer at FantasyScore tonight, but he can save you a ton of money elsewhere.
Fri, 01 May 2015 14:04:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is likely only in the leadoff spot with Adam Eaton taking the day off. Don't take the temporary move for granted at FantasyScore, though. Johnson isn't setting the world on fire at .271 (13-for-48), but he gains value in daily games at the top of the order. Consider him a low-priced value play tonight.

Chicago White Sox RP/SP Carlos Rodon could be used more often, according to manager Robin Ventura. "We can use him a little more frequently," Ventura said. "He has the ability to come in there and eat up innings and he also has the ability to come in and get a lefty early in the game and (have an extended outing). The options are there for him, we have to find the right spots to get him in there."
Fantasy Tip: Rodon ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is worth stashing in the majority of formats, and it actually might be beneficial to his long-term fantasy stock this season to get his feet wet in a relief role before joining the rotation. Continue to check back for updates on Rodon's usage and when he may be converted to a starter.

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer (knee) is not in the starting lineup against the Chicago White Sox Thursday, April 30. Schafer left in the sixth innings with a mild sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee Wednesday, April 29. OF Shane Robinson is starting in center field and batting eighth Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid both Schafer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Thursday. With Chris Sale on the hill for the White Sox, there is no reason to roster Robinson. Additionally, both Schafer and Robinson are low-level AL-only players in seasonal leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez's ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) value receives a significant boost batting in the two-hole. He hasn't attempted a stolen base yet this season, although, he has only been on base 16 times through his first 68 plate appearances (.235 OBP). Highly consider Ramirez for your FantasyScore lineups Thursday, as opposing pitcher Trevor May presents a potential slump-busting matchup.
