Fantasy Tip: Fowler ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has raised his average from .231 to .243 just since July 19, posting four multi-hit games in the past eight outings. He is a must-start in FantasyScore while he is rolling along.

Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain how much longer Wada will need on his need on his rehab stint, and when he returns what capacity he will pitch - starter or relief. Wait to see him officially return and his role clear up before trusting him again.

Fantasy Tip: Baez will remain at Class AAA Iowa for the time being, but he could find himself headed to a major league roster shortly after Friday's trade deadline. Both Baez and Starlin Castro have been mentioned in trade rumors, and Baez should be back in the majors before long.

Fantasy Tip: Coghlan ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) usually sits out against left-handed pitchers, so he should return to the lineup soon. Denorfia ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is hitting .264 with six RBI this month and could be a cheaper option if owners are looking to spend money on other positions.

Fantasy Tip: Fowler ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is an affordable daily play on FantasyScore while the bat is hot, especially against left-handed pitching. He is batting .321 with a .400 OBP and a .797 OPS against left-handers for the season. In yearly leagues, nine home runs and 16 stolen bases are solid, but the .237 batting average makes him a fourth or fifth outfielder in standard leagues. The Cubs have a crowded offensive lineup so pay close attention to their roster moves and Fowler's at-bats the rest of the way.

Chicago Cubs 2B Tommy La Stella (rib cage) was at Wrigley Field Monday, July 27, working out before he heads out on a minor-league rehab assignment. He has been sidelined since April 9 due to right rib cage inflammation.
Fantasy Tip: La Stella is making his way back slowly, already having had one setback in May in a minor-league rehab game. Avoid him until he can officially return and prove his health in multiple games without any setbacks.

Chicago Cubs C Kyle Schwarber could continue to see more playing time in left field, manager Joe Maddon said Monday, July 27. On days when Schwarber isn't starting behind the plate, he's working on outfield drills with coach Dave Martinez.
Fantasy Tip: The Cubs would be wise to get Schwarber ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) into the lineup for his power potential. FantasyScore players would be wise to use him when he starts because of his reasonable price tag and pop.

Chicago Cubs SS Starlin Castro entered the game Monday, July 27, against the Colorado Rockies hitting just .139 in the month of July. Manager Joe Maddon watched video of Castro from last season, and the shortstop has been doing drills with hitting coach John Mallee trying to work on a more direct path to the ball.
Fantasy Tip: Castro ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has been overpriced for FantasyScore players during most of July. Avoid him until his price tag falls dramatically or he starts to show more consistency at the dish.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 20:42:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ross ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) has emerged as a must-start FantasyScore option due to his fantastic strikeouts to nine innings (K/9) ratio, so he is a solid option wherever he lands.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:38:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: A trade of Venable ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) wouldn't be an earth-shattering move, and he'd likely be a fourth outfielder in Chicago. Even though Venable's playing time wouldn't be affected all that much, it would have to be seen as a positive for his fantasy value in deeper leagues, as he's hitting much better on the road (.284) than at Petco Park (.196) this year.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 14:41:56 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Denorfia ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) owns a career .250 average (6-for-24) with three RBI against De La Rosa. He hasn't been bad against lefties this year, either, so he could return nice value tonight on FantasyScore, and he'll help give you salary cap relief elsewhere.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 14:38:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Schwarber ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has been a nice addition to the Cubbies lineup and has plenty of power upside, but a matchup against a left-handed pitcher could make it tough for him to produce tonight. For what it's worth, Schwarber has two hits in eight at-bats against southpaws at the major league level, but all three of his home runs were against righties.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 13:38:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Beeler last made a spot start July 22 and allowed three earned runs in just two innings against the Cincinnati Reds. Against the dangerous Rockies lineup, Beeler should be avoided on FantasyScore in this spot start.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 11:15:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Rangers and the Dodgers are the favorites for Hamels' ($8,300, 16.6% of cap) services, but the Cubs could land him, too. Hamels will surely see his fantasy value rise with a trade out of Philly to a contender, and he'll be that much more valuable as a fantasy ace for the rest of the season.
Sun, 26 Jul 2015 18:46:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($5,600, 11.8% of cap) has just one homer since July 5, and it is hard to justify paying his price tag at FantasyScore while he is struggling.
