Fantasy Tip: Szczur is batting .375 (15-for-40) with three home runs and 12 RBI this season and is hitting .429 versus righties. He should be viewed as a productive source of salary cap relief in daily fantasy games.

Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks easily handled the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, May 28, logging the second complete game of his career after allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven during a 105-pitch outing.
Fantasy Tip: The Dartmouth product hadn't won since tossing six scoreless innings against the Washington Nationals on May 5, but luck hasn't been on his side either; he entered today's start ranked second-to-last in the National League in run support. Hendricks is worth using in most leagues for his next scheduled start at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Lester rebounded from his worst start of the season by earning his ninth quality start in 10 outings this year. He will look to extend his winning streak versus the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, June 1, and should be viewed as a solid pitching option in all fantasy formats.

Fantasy Tip: Ross is regarded as a defensive-first catcher but he hasn't embarrassed himself at the plate this year, batting .254 with four home runs and 17 RBI through 71 at-bats. He's worth considering as an inexpensive backstop option in DFS if he has a favorable matchup.

Fantasy Tip: Ross isn't normally known as an offensive player, but he's held his own in limited starts this year with a .250 average and three home runs and 14 RBI in 67 at-bats. He's hit well against lefties, too, with a .389/.520/.611 slash line. He's certainly worth considering as a low-end flyer at catcher if you're looking to save salary cap space.

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo (rest) and OF Jason Heyward (rest) are both not in the starting lineup Friday, May 27. 3B Kris Bryant is filling in at first base, allowing 2B Javier Baez to enter the lineup at third base and bat seventh opposite Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan. OF Jorge Soler will shift over to right field, while OF Matt Szczur gets a rare start in left field and is hitting fifth.
Fantasy Tip: Baez is always one of the better value plays for daily formats whenever he cracks the batting order, so owners might want to consider his services this afternoon. Meanwhile, Szczur could be an interesting plugin play option, as he's produced an impressive .389/.450/.639 line thus far, albeit in 36 at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Arrieta failed to record a quality start for just the second time in 10 outings this season but he should continue to be started with confidence in all fantasy formats. His next start will come against the Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday, May 31.
Wed, 25 May 2016 18:17:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Bryant has 10 home runs and 35 RBI through 44 games this season and should continue to be viewed as one of the top third basemen in all fantasy formats.
Wed, 25 May 2016 07:51:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: La Stella has a .308-2-7 line on the season and is a low-end consideration against Carlos Martinez.
Tue, 24 May 2016 20:20:07 -0700
Chicago Cubs SP Jason Hammel allowed one run on four hits in 7 1/3 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday, May 24, to pick up his sixth win of the season. He struck out four batters and walked three during the game.
Fantasy Tip: Hammel has allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his nine starts this season and currently has a 2.17 ERA. He is scheduled to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in his next start and should be a starting option in all leagues.
Tue, 24 May 2016 20:14:14 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Soler has been producing the plate over the last week with seven hits, two home runs and four RBI over the last seven games. Soler probably is not a great option in most leagues but should be a starting candidate in some daily fantasy leagues.

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo is 2-for-27 on the team's road trip following a 4-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday, May 23. Against left-handed pitchers this season, Rizzo is batting .156 with a .296 on-base percentage. Rizzo's batting average on balls in play is .218, but for the season he is hitting .239 with 11 home runs and 35 runs batted in.
Fantasy Tip: These numbers are all over the place, and they demonstrate how maddening Rizzo can be when it comes to hot and cold streaks. However, Rizzo still merits play in DFS, weekly and annual leagues because of his sheer power. Rizzo has 11 home runs, and you can't ignore those numbers. He is on pace for more than 100 walks and less than 100 strikeouts, which no Cub has done since 1984 (Gary Matthews). Rizzo puts the ball in play, and his bat can be potent.
Tue, 24 May 2016 12:16:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The 39-year-old veteran is actually having a decent season at the plate, hitting .250 with three home runs and 12 RBI. However, he has little offensive upside hitting at the bottom of the order and remains a low-end daily backstop.
Tue, 24 May 2016 12:14:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Because he's hitting only .225 with one home run and 14 RBI, it's probably wise to let Heyward ease his way back in and keep him on your bench for a game or two. In daily formats, he'll be a contrarian play against Wacha and the Red Birds.
Tue, 24 May 2016 00:33:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Zobrist is wielding a strong bat and an ability to get on base with ease. That's a solid combination and it makes Zobrist a player with increased fantasy value. Since he has demonstrated an ability to reach base in nearly 30 straight games, it stands to reason his overall numbers will be higher.
