Fantasy Tip: It looks like the injury wasn't a serious one and Fowler is back to his usual leadoff spot atop the lineup. Adjust your rosters accordingly.

Chicago Cubs SP Jason Hammel (hamstring) is expected to be able to make his next start after leaving early with a hamstring cramp against the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday, May 30. However, the Cubs are 21 games over .500 and probably won't take any chances with his health. Hammel injured his calf before the All-Star break last year and was never the same. Ps Travis Wood or Trevor Cahill could start a game if needed.
Fantasy Tip: Hammel tossed two scoreless innings before departing to drop his ERA on the year to 2.09. The way he's throwing this year, he should remain in starting lineups in all formats if he's able to make his next start.

Chicago Cubs 2B/OF Ben Zobrist went 1-for-3 with a run scored and walk Monday, May 30, against the Los Angeles Dodgers to extend his hitting streak to 16 games, tying a career best. He has reached base in his past 35 starts, the longest streak by a Cub since 2B Starlin Castro in 2011.
Fantasy Tip: Zobrist is hitting .426 (26-for-61) with 12 runs scored and seven RBIs during the impressive run, and overall he is hitting .351. He is a must-start in all fantasy formats and a tremendous option in DFS at a mid-tier price.

Updating a previous report, Chicago Cubs SP Jason Hammel (hamstring) is being evaluated after leaving his start against the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday, May 30, because of cramping in his right hamstring. He is currently being evaluated.
Fantasy Tip: Hammel has been exceptional this season with six wins, a 2.17 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP and 47 punchouts through 54 innings over his nine starts. Expect him to be ready for his next start, and continue to view him as an excellent mid-rotation hurler for your virtual club.
Mon, 30 May 2016 15:04:46 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Check back for updates, but it looked like Hammel was just suffering from a cramp. It doesn't appear to be a serious injury at this point.
Mon, 30 May 2016 12:41:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Soler has been showing signs of heating up at the dish with an active 9-for-28 run, including eight runs, three home runs, six RBI and a .714 slugging percentage. The playing time is a little too inconsistent currently to make Soler an option in all fantasy leagues, but if he keeps hitting, he'll garner more playing time and more value.
Mon, 30 May 2016 12:36:53 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ross is having his best season in years, as the veteran backstop has modestly tipped the fantasy scales with 14 runs, four home runs, 17 RBI and a .254/.349/.479 slash line through just 88 plate appearances. He is still nothing more than a low-end option in cavernous mixed, two-catcher and NL-only formats, though. And in daily contests, he should be seen as a low-priced gamble. Montero hit his first home run since opening day Sunday, May 29, and has slightly more fantasy value than Ross, but they're splitting time pretty evenly, which limits their upside.
Mon, 30 May 2016 12:32:56 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Baez has huge upside and exceptional power for a middle infielder, but his lack of playing time limits his fantasy value. At this stage, he should be left to deep mixed and NL-only leagues. He is a potential low-priced flier in daily contests Monday, though, as Baez has a respectable .250/.323/.429 slash line against southpaws for his career.
Mon, 30 May 2016 12:29:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Zobrist has been everything Chicago and fantasy owners could have hoped for thus far, as he boasts 36 runs, seven home run, 35 RBI and a .351/.451/.542 slash line. Continue to start him with confidence in all fantasy formats, and he makes for a solid option in daily contests Monday.

Chicago Cubs OF Dexter Fowler (foot) is not in the starting lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday, May 30, because of a sore right heel, according to manager Joe Maddon. Maddon noted Fowler's injury is not considered serious.
Fantasy Tip: Fowler has been a fantasy star this year with exceptional five-category coverage. He has 34 runs, six home runs, 24 RBI, six stolen bases and a .316/.433/.537 slash line. Check back for updates, but don't anticipate the outfielder missing much time.
Sun, 29 May 2016 16:38:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Zobrist has emerged as a must-start option in season-long leagues, and during his current hot streak, he is a great DFS option, as well.
Sun, 29 May 2016 16:36:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Fowler has been a run-scoring machine atop the Cubs' powerful lineup, and he should have a permanent spot in fantasy lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Szczur is batting .375 (15-for-40) with three home runs and 12 RBI this season and is hitting .429 versus righties. He should be viewed as a productive source of salary cap relief in daily fantasy games.

Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks easily handled the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, May 28, logging the second complete game of his career after allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven during a 105-pitch outing.
Fantasy Tip: The Dartmouth product hadn't won since tossing six scoreless innings against the Washington Nationals on May 5, but luck hasn't been on his side either; he entered today's start ranked second-to-last in the National League in run support. Hendricks is worth using in most leagues for his next scheduled start at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.
Fri, 27 May 2016 18:15:14 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lester rebounded from his worst start of the season by earning his ninth quality start in 10 outings this year. He will look to extend his winning streak versus the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, June 1, and should be viewed as a solid pitching option in all fantasy formats.
