Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt (concussion) may be used as a utility player once he returns from his concussion, according to head coach John Farrell. Holt was the starting left fielder before the injury but may be more valuable playing at multiple positions moving forward.
Fantasy Tip: Holt has the ability to play nearly all of the positions, which makes him a valuable player for the manager. He probably would not be an everyday player if he is used as a utility player but should see solid playing time. Holt is hitting only .239 this season but should be owned in deeper mixed leagues.

Boston Red Sox 1B David Ortiz (foot) said he expects to play Monday, May 30, after he was scratched from the starting lineup Sunday, May 29, because of a foot injury. Ortiz underwent an MRI on his foot Sunday but it was negative.
Fantasy Tip: It appears that Ortiz is dealing with a minor injury and should return to the lineup in the next few days. Ortiz is off to a tremendous start in his final season and should be a starting option in all leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Buchholz will be coming out of the bullpen for the foreseeable future with Eduardo Rodriguez set to return to the rotation. You can probably cut Buchholz loose in all formats for now.

Fantasy Tip: Craig Kimbrell threw 39 pitches and blew the save the day before, so it wasn't a surprise to see Uehara close things out. The pitch count likely dictated the decision, and Kimbrell's job isn't in jeopardy.

Boston Red Sox 1B David Ortiz (foot) was scratched from the starting lineup Sunday, May 29, because of a possible foot injury. 1B Hanley Ramirez is serving as the designated hitter. 3B Travis Shaw is starting at first base, while 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at third base and is batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Ortiz will need to miss multiple games. Rutledge has only two hits in his last five games and should be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Swihart is just 3-for-19 (.158) since taking over as Boston's everyday left fielder and is batting .171 versus right-handed pitching this season, so he should be avoided in all formats Sunday. However, gaining outfield eligibility will give him an added layer of value in AL-only fantasy leagues.

Boston Red Sox SS Xander Bogaerts stuffed the box score in a loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, May 28, going 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three runs scored. Bogaerts' 21-game hitting streak is the longest active run in the majors at the moment.
Fantasy Tip: Bogaerts has registered multiple hits 12 times during the streak, so he's certainly doing more than just getting by. Among a tightly knit group of highly productive shortstops so far this season, the case could certainly be made that Bogaerts has been the best with a .351 average, six homers, 27 RBI, 41 runs and seven steals. If it wasn't already obvious, he's a must-start whenever he takes the field.

Boston Red Sox OF Blake Swihart is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marcus Stroman Saturday, May 28. OF Chris Young will start in left field and is batting eighth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Young is hitting .323 with one home run and five RBI in limited playing time this month. Young should have some value in daily fantasy leagues because of his recent production.

Fantasy Tip: Consistency has always been an issue for Kelly, and he should be reserved for friendly matchups in daily formats.

Fantasy Tip: It has been a disastrous 10-game stretch to start the season for Buchholz, as he sits with a 6.35 ERA. He was hardly worth owning in the majority of leagues to begin with, but he should be replaced in all formats now. Sometimes, starting pitchers adapt to the bullpen quickly and become high-end relievers, but you'll want to see it before counting on it with Buchholz.

Boston Red Sox 1B David Ortiz is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 27. 1B Hanley Ramirez is serving as the designated hitter, while 3B Travis Shaw moves over to first base and is batting cleanup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Aaron Sanchez. INF Marco Hernandez draws a start at the hot corner and is hitting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: It looks to be just a normal off day for Papi. Make sure to replace him in your daily lineups. Han-Ram and Shaw have been very consistent producers for Boston all year and should remain excellent plays. Hernandez is a true dart throw as a desperation flier in daily games tonight.

Toronto Blue Jays OF Ezequiel Carrera is starting in right field and batting first against Boston Red Sox SP Joe Kelly Friday, May 27, with OF Jose Bautista out of the lineup serving a one-game suspension.
Fantasy Tip: Carrera has made the most of his opportunities this season going 16-for-48 with 12 runs and a .843 OPS. He doesn't see enough at-bats to be anything more than a depth piece in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues, but he does check out as a viable low-priced flier in daily contests Friday.

Fantasy Tip: The 23-year-old enjoyed a nice breakout campaign a year ago, and he's taken it a step further in 2016, as he currently holds a terrific .347/.401/.508 line through 46 ballgames. He also has almost as many home runs (five) as he did all of last season (seven). Keep firing him up if you were able to secure his services on draft day.

Fantasy Tip: Buchholz has struggled throughout the year, and even if he remains in the rotation, he isnít worth owning.

Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley Jr. went hitless in four at-bats against the Colorado Rockies Thursday, May 26, to end his career-best hitting streak at 29 games. Bradley's streak was the longest in the majors this year and ended during his first game batting leadoff this season.
Fantasy Tip: Bradley is batting .341 with eight home runs and 34 RBI in 46 games and makes an excellent outfield option in all fantasy formats. The player who had the second-longest streak in the majors was teammate Xander Bogaerts, who went 1-for-4 with a run scored Thursday to extend his streak to 19 games.
