Boston Red Sox SP Justin Masterson struck out six batters over five innings for his second win of the season against the Baltimore Orioles Monday, April 20. He allowed a single earned run on three hits and three walks.
Fantasy Tip: In favorable matchups, Masterson ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is a nice low-priced target for FantasyScore players. He has shown flashes of excellent strikeout ability and kept his ratios in check in the past, too. However, Fenway Park is a difficult hitting environment, and this was Masterson's first decent start of the season.

Boston Red Sox 3B Pablo Sandoval has not recorded a hit against a left-handed pitcher through 13 plate appearances this season. He is currently hitting .406 (13-for-32) against righties. In 2014, Sandoval hit just .199 against southpaws and .317 against right-handed pitchers. Sandoval is a switch hitter, and the Red Sox have a history of encouraging their hitters to select a side, as OFs Shane Victorino and Daniel Nava no longer switch hit.
Fantasy Tip: This is a concerning trend for fantasy owners. Perhaps Sandoval ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) opts to only hit left handed, or perhaps the Red Sox begin to sit him against southpaws. Either way, both an adjustment period and fewer at-bats seem likely. FantasyScore players would be wise to avoid Sandoval whenever he faces a lefty until he proves he can handle them. It also might be a nice time to try and sell high on Sandoval in seasonal leagues, especially with the potential of him platooning. The Red Sox have a deep bench, after all.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to start Ramirez ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) with confidence in your seasonal leagues, however at his price, he might not be the best FantasyScore play Tuesday. Still, you'll want to make sure to double-check Ramirez returns to the lineup. So far, he is living up to the bounce-back billing with five home runs and 12 RBI already.

Fantasy Tip: Han-Ram ($5,000, 10.0% of your cap) is one of the best options on FantasyScore due to his early power surge. He should be back in minimal time.

Fantasy Tip: It's just a routine day off after he played in three consecutive games. At $4,200 (8.4% of your cap), Sandoval is in the upper echelon of a thin position on FantasyScore. He's worth consideration when he's in there.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 09:54:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Holt ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is off to a hot start at the play with a .579 batting average and five RBI. Holt could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to use in their starting lineups.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 09:48:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) should return to the lineup when the team plays their next game. Brock Holt ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will be starting at second base Sunday and could be a cheaper option for owners to consider since he is hitting .579.
Sat, 18 Apr 2015 13:22:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Holt ($2,000, 4.0% of your cap) 8-for-16 with five RBI on the young season and is a cheap second base flyer on FantasyScore when he plays.
Sat, 18 Apr 2015 13:21:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It's just a routine day off. Betts ($4,100, 8.2% of your cap) is a solid midrange outfielder on FantasyScore.
Sat, 18 Apr 2015 13:08:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Daniel Nava ($1,800, 3.6% of your cap) and Allen Craig ($2,100, 4.2%) would likely split starts if the "Flyin' Hawaiian" is forced to miss more time. Nava would likely face righties and has been more productive than Craig. He's worth a low-end flyer on FantasyScore when he's in there.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 14:41:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Sandoval ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) should be ready to return to the lineup Friday night when the team faces the Baltimore Orioles. He should be good to go for FantasyScore lineups that night, too.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 14:27:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Miley ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) disappointed his daily owners today in a matchup against the depleted Nationals' lineup. That won't give his owners confidence in using him his next time out at FantasyScore.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 09:39:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of your cap) has mashed against lefties in his career, but we need to see evidence he's over the foot issues before using him on FantasyScore.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 09:31:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Red Sox face left-handed starter Gio Gonzalez, and Allen Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of your cap) slots in at first with Mike Napoli at DH. Craig is just 1-for-8 on the season, and we need to see evidence that he's past the foot issues that dogged him last season before using him on FantasyScore.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 07:54:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Bogaerts ($3,000, 6.0% of your cap) hit .263 with five homers in just 156 at-bats against lefties last year. He's hitting .433 with seven RBI on the young season and is a low-end SS option on FantasyScore.
