Izturis hopes to return sooner than that, though. Izturis jogged and sprinted in the outfield Monday, June 29, and took 30 swings off a tee. He said he hopes to field some balls and play soft toss Tuesday, June 30, with an eye toward hitting live pitching perhaps as early as Wednesday, July 1. After he passes those tests, Izturis said he would expect to do a minor league rehab assignment for a couple of days. "Big progress," said Izturis. "I'm feeling stronger and today was a big day."
