The Atlanta Braves are more likely to trade for starting pitching than hitting this summer, but general manager Frank Wren says they may not even do that since they have SP Kris Medlen waiting in the wings. "We have a guy internally who's probably better than any arm who will be available, and that's Kris Medlen. He's never thrown over 120 innings in a season, so we've got to be careful with his innings. But if we feel we need a guy late in the season, we wouldn't be afraid to take him out of the bullpen and transition him into the rotation," Wren said.

The team has ordered a pair of sports glasses for him to wear instead of contacts. Freeman said he will continue to wear the glasses unless he finds a pair of contacts that do not irritate his eyes. Freeman has gone only 9-for-55 with one home run and six RBIs in his last 15 games.
