However, the team is somewhat concerned about his defense and history of back problems. The Nationals control Willingham, who made $2.95 million last season, for two more years. He is expected to earn between $4.5 million and $5 million in his second year of arbitration. He is 1-0 with a 2.51 ERA in five starts in the AFL this year. Braves | Likely to have Proctor for two years David O'Brien, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Braves RP Scott Proctor is likely to be under contract with the team for two years. His deal will pay a prorated portion of a $750,000 salary for any time he spends on the major league roster, and $12,000 per month while he is in the minors. Proctor's contract also includes additional incentives for appearances, starting at 10 games and increasing to a maximum of $250,000 for 50. Braves | Hanson as closer? Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Mark Bradley, blogging in the "Braves Beat", suggests Atlanta Braves SP Tommy Hanson should be tried as a closer. The Braves have $68 million committed to six starting pitchers and Bradley thinks Hanson would make a better reliever than throwing $5 million at RP Rafael Soriano or RP Mike Gonzalez.
