Atlanta Braves OF Kelly Johnson () has increased his baseball activities and resumed hitting on the field Tuesday, June 2, and he's also doing some fielding drills. However, he is a ways from going on a rehab assignment.
Fantasy Tip: Continue stashing Johnson in deep mixed and NL-only leagues. Todd Cunningham ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is seeing most of the time in left field in Johnson's absence, but he doesn't do much for FantasyScore users aside from the occasional matchup play as a deep sleeper.

Atlanta Braves C A.J. Pierzynski is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 3. C Christian Bethancourt is starting and hitting eighth in the batting order against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa.
Fantasy Tip: Bethancourt ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is hitting only .175 (14-for-80) in limited duty, and De La Rosa has been tough on right-handed hitters all year. Avoid Bethancourt today.

Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) picked it up last month and earned an everyday job in center field for the Braves. However, De La Rosa has been solid of late and allows a slash line of .189/.237/.315 to right-handed hitters in 2015. You may want to wait one more day before considering using Maybin on FantasyScore again.

Fantasy Tip: This was the shortest outing of the season for Miller (), but it shouldn't totally shake your confidence in the pitcher. The Braves continue to get the better of the St. Louis Cardinals in this trade, which sent Jason Heyward to the Cards. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez even said Miller struggled a bit with his mechanics. He should snap back in future starts.

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin (groin) said he could play Tuesday, June 2, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but manager Fredi Gonzalez elected to give Maybin one more day. Maybin is likely to return to the lineup Wednesday, June 3.
Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) holds a lot of upside in the stolen base and runs scored categories. FantasyScore owners should stay away until the groin injury has fully healed and Maybin has returned to his top speed.
Tue, 02 Jun 2015 16:31:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gomes ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is a boom or bust FantasyScore option, who relies on his power for fantasy production as he owns a low batting average and a low on-base percentage. FantasyScore owners can find far safer options.
Tue, 02 Jun 2015 16:16:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Simmons ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is riding a 10-game hit streak, during which he has gone 15-for-39. Simmons has just one extra-base hit during the streak, but with the potential for multiple hits he's a relatively safe option on FantasyScore.
Mon, 01 Jun 2015 23:04:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Freeman ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) is a good 1B option on FantasyScore during his power surge.

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin (quadriceps, groin) is dealing with a slight quadriceps or groin strain, which is why he's not in the lineup Monday, June 1, according to manager Fredi Gonzalez. The move is precautionary, and Maybin should be back in the lineup Tuesday, June 2.
Fantasy Tip: With Maybin out tonight, Todd Cunningham ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is starting in center field. Cunningham is basically a deep sleeper on FantasyScore, although he's facing a pitcher that has struggled mightily after being hit in the face by a liner a month ago in Arizona Diamondbacks starter Archie Bradley.

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 1. OF Todd Cunningham is starting in center field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley.
Fantasy Tip: Cunningham ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) makes for an interesting deep sleeper pick just for the fact that Bradley has given up 14 earned runs in his last three starts after being struck in the face by a liner.
Mon, 01 Jun 2015 15:49:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Simmons ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) gains value in daily games with a move up the batting order. Bradley has struggled since being hit by a line drive in the face, giving up at least four runs in his three starts since for an ERA of 11.81 in May. Simmons enters on a nine-game hitting streak in which he's gone 12-for-32 (.375). Consider Simmons a nice value pick tonight.

Fantasy Tip: It wouldn't be a surprise if Bethancourt ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) begins seeing an increase in playing time as a result of A.J. Pierzynski's ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) recent offensive struggles. After hitting .135 in April, Bethancourt is batting .231 this month, while Pierzynski is only batting .131 in May following a .422 April.
Sun, 31 May 2015 12:01:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Freeman, who leads the majors with 217 consecutive games played, is receiving a rare day off this afternoon. Remove him from your FantasyScore lineups. Johnson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) could see a slight increase in playing time at first base due to the team's recent acquisition of 3B Juan Uribe ($1,700, 3.4% of cap).
Sun, 31 May 2015 06:12:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: However, Peterson ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has hit just .233 over his last 15 games since moving to the leadoff spot. The run, RBI and stolen base totals are nice, though, and if Peterson can keep his head above water in the batting average department, he's a four-category contributor. And they're few and far between among middle infielders. Peterson warrants attention in deep mixed leagues, especially if you're searching for an upgrade at the keystone position.
Sun, 31 May 2015 04:21:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Even if Johnson ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) does get better, the question of a starting spot remains in doubt. Infielder Jace Peterson ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is hitting very well at second, a position Johnson has played. That could relegate Johnson to bench duties. Keep an eye on how the situation shakes out.
