Fantasy Tip: Frenchy has a .261-0-4 line on the season, but 10 of his 12 hits have come against left-handers. In fact, he's hitting .417 against lefties and .091 against right-handers. The cleanup placement facilitates low-end consideration today.

Atlanta Braves OF Nick Markakis (personal) is out Wednesday, May 4, due to a family emergency. He's expected to return Friday, May 6, after the off day. OF Mallex Smith is hitting leadoff, according to MLB.com.
Fantasy Tip: Smith has turned it up the last seven days, going 8-for-15 (.533) with a homer and three RBI. He's facing lefty Steven Matz today, though, which trumps most of his DFS luster. He's an extremely low-end flyer today.

Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler allowed just one hit and two walks over eight scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a win against the New York Mets Tuesday, May 3. He is 3-1 with a 1.55 ERA in four starts over 29 innings against the Mets in his career.
Fantasy Tip: Wisler seems to have the number of the Mets for whatever reason. Remember that next time he works against the Mets for DFS purposes.

Atlanta Braves 2B Gordon Beckham (hamstring) will begin his minor-league rehab assignment Saturday, May 7, and he might come off the 15-day disabled list for next week's series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Fantasy Tip: Avoid Beckham in all but the deepest of NL-only fantasy leagues when he is able to return.

Atlanta Braves OF Ender Inciarte (hamstring) could be activated off the disabled list Saturday, May 7. The plan is for him to begin a two-game rehab assignment Wednesday, May 4, for Class AAA Gwinnett, before returning to the club.
Fantasy Tip: Having been out since the third game of the season, Inciarte might have become a forgotten name in some fantasy leagues. He's not a bad player to have on the bench, as he enjoyed a fine breakout campaign a year ago. The only issue is that he might lose out on some at-bats to youngster Mallex Smith.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson is 2-for-5 (.400), so he may be worth inserting into a daily fantasy lineup if you have a chance.

Atlanta Braves SP Mike Foltynewicz allowed four earned runs, eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings in a loss Monday, May 2, against the New York Mets. He was out of the majors since potentially life-threatening blood clots were discovered in his right shoulder late last season.
Fantasy Tip: Foltynewicz could make additional starts, but he is only worth using in the deepest of NL-only fantasy play and DFS play when the matchup is favorable.

Atlanta Braves INF Reid Brignac (face) was hit in the face by a ball after a grounder deflected off second base and skipped up Monday, May 2, against the New York Mets. He was checked by a trainer and remained in the game.
Fantasy Tip: Brignac was just recalled from the minors and is only worth using in the deepest of NL-only fantasy play and DFS play as a salary saver for when he starts.

Fantasy Tip: Atlanta has plenty of options for the keystone. Including the recent call-ups, Daniel Castro and Kelly Johnson could also see time at the keystone. As was the case with Peterson, none are really attractive outside of cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues as middle infield depth, though.
Mon, 02 May 2016 13:32:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Inciarte should immediately return to the starting center field role, although he might be eased in. He should've remained stashed in all formats for his ability to help in runs, average and stolen bases. His return will hurt the value of the speedy Mallex Smith, and the young prospect could be sent back to the minors for more seasoning.
Mon, 02 May 2016 13:30:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It'll be Brignac's first start of the year for Atlanta. He hit only .222 (18-for-81) with one home run and 10 RBI for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2015 and is a bottom-of-the-barrel daily option Monday evening. Against the light-hitting Braves, Colon is a nice cheap selection as your second starter in DFS.

Atlanta Braves SP Mike Foltynewicz was called up from Class AAA Gwinnett in order to start against the New York Mets to replace SP Bud Norris in the starting rotation Monday, May 2. Norris will work in long relief for now. Foltynewicz had a 2.05 ERA with 20 strikeouts, 14 walks and 12 hits allowed in 22 innings over four starts for Gwinnett.
Fantasy Tip: Outside of NL-only leagues, Folty is a guy to watch, as his strikeout upside is tempered by home run allowance and shaky command. His dominant stuff has yet to translate at the major league level, and you'll likely need to remain patient with him.

Fantasy Tip: Teheran has turned in back-to-back brilliant outings, and if another owner cut him loose after his poor start, he is worth scooping up.
Sun, 01 May 2016 17:13:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Smith is still hitting just .231, but he is worth owning in NL-only formats for his stolen base potential.
Sun, 01 May 2016 17:09:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Vizcaino's ERA sits it an impressive 0.96, but he and veteran Jason Grilli continue to split save chances for a bad Atlanta squad that doesn’t win many games to begin with. Both Vizcaino and Grilli are worth owning if you are hunting for saves, but keep expectations low.
