Fantasy Tip: Castro has no hits in three at-bats against Harvey, which may be part of the reason why he is out of the lineup. Johnson is 2-for-5 (.400), so he may be worth inserting into a daily fantasy lineup if you have a chance.

Atlanta Braves SP Mike Foltynewicz allowed four earned runs, eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings in a loss Monday, May 2, against the New York Mets. He was out of the majors since potentially life-threatening blood clots were discovered in his right shoulder late last season.
Fantasy Tip: Foltynewicz could make additional starts, but he is only worth using in the deepest of NL-only fantasy play and DFS play when the matchup is favorable.

Atlanta Braves INF Reid Brignac (face) was hit in the face by a ball after a grounder deflected off second base and skipped up Monday, May 2, against the New York Mets. He was checked by a trainer and remained in the game.
Fantasy Tip: Brignac was just recalled from the minors and is only worth using in the deepest of NL-only fantasy play and DFS play as a salary saver for when he starts.

Fantasy Tip: Atlanta has plenty of options for the keystone. Including the recent call-ups, Daniel Castro and Kelly Johnson could also see time at the keystone. As was the case with Peterson, none are really attractive outside of cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues as middle infield depth, though.

Fantasy Tip: Inciarte should immediately return to the starting center field role, although he might be eased in. He should've remained stashed in all formats for his ability to help in runs, average and stolen bases. His return will hurt the value of the speedy Mallex Smith, and the young prospect could be sent back to the minors for more seasoning.

Fantasy Tip: It'll be Brignac's first start of the year for Atlanta. He hit only .222 (18-for-81) with one home run and 10 RBI for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2015 and is a bottom-of-the-barrel daily option Monday evening. Against the light-hitting Braves, Colon is a nice cheap selection as your second starter in DFS.

Atlanta Braves SP Mike Foltynewicz was called up from Class AAA Gwinnett in order to start against the New York Mets to replace SP Bud Norris in the starting rotation Monday, May 2. Norris will work in long relief for now. Foltynewicz had a 2.05 ERA with 20 strikeouts, 14 walks and 12 hits allowed in 22 innings over four starts for Gwinnett.
Fantasy Tip: Outside of NL-only leagues, Folty is a guy to watch, as his strikeout upside is tempered by home run allowance and shaky command. His dominant stuff has yet to translate at the major league level, and you'll likely need to remain patient with him.

Fantasy Tip: Teheran has turned in back-to-back brilliant outings, and if another owner cut him loose after his poor start, he is worth scooping up.
Sun, 01 May 2016 17:13:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Smith is still hitting just .231, but he is worth owning in NL-only formats for his stolen base potential.

Fantasy Tip: Vizcaino's ERA sits it an impressive 0.96, but he and veteran Jason Grilli continue to split save chances for a bad Atlanta squad that doesn’t win many games to begin with. Both Vizcaino and Grilli are worth owning if you are hunting for saves, but keep expectations low.

Atlanta Braves 2B Daniel Castro, C A.J. Pierzynski and OF Jeff Francoeur are not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP John Lackey Sunday, May 1. OF Kelly Johnson will start at second base and is batting fifth in the lineup. C Tyler Flowers will start at catcher and is batting sixth. 3B Adonis Garcia will start in left field, while 2B Jace Peterson will start at third base and is batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson is hitting better over the last few days but is not a great option since he has a .186 average this season. Flowers has gone hitless in his last six at-bats but could be used in two-catcher leagues since he is hitting .281 with four RBI. Peterson has struggled at the plate and can be avoided in all leagues.

Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler will start against the New York Mets Monday, May 2. He was originally scheduled to face the Chicago Cubs Sunday, May 1, but SP Julio Teheran will pitch instead, after his start was rained out Saturday, April 30.
Fantasy Tip: Wisler is 0-2 with a 4.26 ERA in five appearances (four starts) this year and is not a recommended fantasy option. SP Mike Foltynewicz, who is currently with Class AAA Gwinnett, had been under consideration to make the start Monday, before Saturday's rainout altered the team's pitching plans. The Braves could use a four-man rotation for the immediate future because they have just six games over the next eight days or they could opt to bring up Foltynewicz later this week to give their current rotation members extra rest. Stay tuned to see how this situation is resolved.

Fantasy Tip: Teheran has gotten off to a slow start this year, going 0-3 with a 4.60 ERA in his first five outings. The Cubs were ranked second in the majors in runs scored (136) entering play Saturday, April 30, so Teheran should be viewed as a very risky play for Sunday's contest.

Fantasy Tip: Blair's second outing in the majors was better than his first, although he threw just 48 of his 85 pitches for strikes. He should be rostered in NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues but daily fantasy players may want to see how he fares in his next few outings before depending on him.

Atlanta Braves SP Bud Norris could be bumped from the starting rotation soon, and SP Mike Foltynewicz looks like he could be the favorite to take Norris' spot. Foltynewicz could start in Norris' spot against the New York Mets Monday, May 2. Foltynewicz was scratched from his start at Class AAA Gwinnett Friday, April 29. Norris has an 8.74 ERA in his first five starts.
Fantasy Tip: Norris has zero fantasy upside at this point and should be left to the waiver wire. Folty appears to be past his blood clot issues and had 20 K's in 22 innings for Gwinnett. However, but he also has at least four walks in three of his four outings in the minors. He has raw strikeout stuff but allows a lot of fly balls. Take a wait-and-see approach. Only add him in NL-only leagues for now if he gets the opportunity.
