Fantasy Tip: Although Teheran ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has been impressive at home, he owns an ugly 5.88 ERA on the road where opponents are hitting .349 against him. Regardless of the reason for the disparity, Teheran only needs to be considered at FantasyScore for home starts for the time being.

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin entered Thursday, May 21, 18-for-53 in his last 18 games, with five extra-base hits, 10 RBI and three stolen bases. Maybin has a career-.289 batting average with five home runs and an on-base percentage of .375 in 27 career games at Turner Field in Atlanta.
Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) grew up about three hours from the stadium and he seems to draw a major home field advantage. Maybin is a nice FantasyScore option while facing right-handed pitchers at home.

Atlanta Braves 3B Chris Johnson (hand) is set to rejoin the team Thursday, May 28, and he's scheduled to have five at-bats in an extended spring training game Friday, May 22. He'll take batting practice with the Braves over the weekend and head out on a minor league rehab assignment early next week. Johnson was in a platoon at third base with 3B Alberto Callaspo to start the year before he was injured.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) will likely re-enter a platoon situation with Callaspo when he returns late next week. He was hitting .279 (12-for-43) with no home runs and five RBI before his injury. Johnson will strictly be a matchup play at FantasyScore once he's back.

Fantasy Tip: Pierzynski ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is getting a normal day off, so take him out of your lineup for the evening. Bethancourt ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is hitless in his last seven at-bats, so avoid using him if at all possible.
Thu, 21 May 2015 12:33:02 -0700
Fantasy Tip: This is a normal day off for Cunningham ($1,700, 3.4% of cap). Gomes ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) carries little fantasy value so look elsewhere for outfield help.

Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is starting to warm up at the plate with a .368 batting average (7-for-19) in the last week. As long as Maybin is hitting and getting more chances to drive in runs, this is a good low-cost player to pick up.
Wed, 20 May 2015 14:34:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Callaspo ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) hasn't played in a full game since last Wednesday, and he's hitting a measley .209 (19-for-91) with one home run and seven RBI on the season. You should avoid him against the improving Odorizzi Wednesday.

Atlanta Braves OF Nick Markakis has yet to hit a home run this year despite having a solid year to this point. However, he is 5-for-11 with a home run and two walks in his career against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi, who he'll face Wednesday, May 20. Markakis is homerless in his last 39 regular season games and 148 at-bats. He has just seven extra-base hits (all doubles) and 37 singles in that time. Markakis has hit double-digit home runs in each of his previous nine seasons and had 14 home runs in 2014 despite playing with a herniated disc in his back. His reduced power could be related to the neck surgery he had last December after he missed much of spring training. He has stayed healthy this year, though, playing 37 of 38 games, including 36 in right field.
Fantasy Tip: Markakis ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is hitting .298 (42-for-141) with 10 RBI on the season, but he's not your prototypical cleanup hitter, and his placement there is likely to be a short-term deal. He won't go homerless all season long, but expecting another double-digit homer season might be foolish at this point. As long as he continues to swing a hot stick, he's not a bad FantasyScore option, just don't expect him to fill out the stat sheet elsewhere.

Atlanta Braves 3B Chris Johnson (hand) was cleared to increase his baseball activities by a doctor Monday, May 18, and barring any setbacks, he could return to the team Monday, May 25, against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) could be involved in some sort of platoon at third base when he returns to Atlanta with Alberto Callaspo ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) and Pedro Ciriaco ($1,600, 3.2% of cap). None of this trio of options is very intriguing at FantasyScore. Consider them all weaker plays at their respective positions.

Fantasy Tip: Ciriaco ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) and Alberto Callaspo ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) are splitting time at third base, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman, with Chris Johnson (hand) out of the lineup and Philip Gosselin on the disabled list. Ciriaco may be worth the money, as he has a .429 average in six games.

Fantasy Tip: Miller ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has been superb this year. He owns a 1.33 ERA and hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any start this year. He is providing ace-caliber production at FantasyScore for a discount price.
Sun, 17 May 2015 08:26:02 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Perez has allowed four walks and four earned runs in two and a third innings out of the Braves bullpen so far this season. Perez owned a 1.33 ERA through five starts at Class AAA, but FantasyScore owners should wait for some success at the major league level.
Sun, 17 May 2015 07:31:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gosselin (($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should receive some consideration due to his enviable position in the batting order and the fact that Atlanta goes up against the rusty Henderson Alvarez. Gosselin is 6-for-his-last-12, with two extra-base hits. Gosselin also has the ability to steal bases, making him worthy of GPP consideration on FantasyScore.
Sun, 17 May 2015 07:25:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ciriaco ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has two hits - both of the extra base variety - in four plate appearances this season. This is Ciriaco's first start of the season. With Marlins SP Henderson Alvarez fresh off the disabled list, Ciriaco could be considered a deep GPP option against a rusty pitcher.

Atlanta Braves OF Todd Cunningham went 3-for-4 with one run scored in a 5-3 win over the Miami Marlins Saturday, May 16, and he is 6-for-8 with three runs scored and an RBI in his first two starts of the year.
Fantasy Tip: Cunningham has made the most of his playing time, but he is considered more of a defensive specialist than an offensive threat. He isn't expected to be more than a platoon player at this point.
