Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson (triceps) might return from the 15-day disabled list after just one minor-league rehab start with the team going with a six-man rotation, manager Chip Hale said Monday, Aug. 3. He threw four scoreless innings in a rookie league game in Arizona Sunday, Aug. 2.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in at least one full start without any setbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Ahmed ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) struggled mightily from July 8 through Aug. 1, going 4-for-53 to drop his average from .249 to .218. However, he has back-to-back multi-hit games, totaling six hits, to re-emerge as a decent low-end FantasyScore play.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Zack Godley worked six scoreless innings in a win Monday, Aug. 3, against the Washington Nationals. He allowed just three hits and two walks with six strikeouts to improve to 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA in his first three starts.
Fantasy Tip: Godley ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has quickly emerged as a FantasyScore must-start, as the Diamondbacks are red hot and so is he.

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Chris Owings is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Doug Fister Monday, Aug. 3. 2B Aaron Hill will start at second base and is batting seventh in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Owings ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the near future. Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has two hits in his last two games but struggled in July with a .194 batting average. Owners on FantasyScore should able to find better options to use.

Fantasy Tip: Pollock ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) missed a few games because of a knee injury but is back in the lineup. He has recorded at least one hit in eight of his last 10 games with three RBI during that span. Pollock will come with some risk because of his injury, but he could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) was 4-for-9 in two games before going 0-for-3 Saturday. Tomas doesn't draw many walks, but he has been hitting well of late, and he'll be a FantasyScore option with moderate upside.

Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is 4-for-9 in his last two games, with a double, a run scored and two RBI. While Tomas doesn't offer any cap relief, and he carries some risk on FantasyScore, he's a quality option while he's hot.

Arizona Diamondbacks C Jarrod Saltalamacchia will start behind the plate and hit seventh in the order Saturday, Aug. 1, against the Houston Astros and LHP Dallas Keuchel. C Welington Castillo will serve as the designated hitter and hit fourth in the order.
Fantasy Tip: Castillo ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is 6-for-15 in his last three games with four home runs. He'll be a strong FantasyScore option while not having to worry about the defensive side of the game.

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill will start at third base and hit fifth in the lineup Saturday, Aug. 1, against the Houston Astros and LHP Dallas Keuchel. 3B Jake Lamb comes out of the starting lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is hitting just .239 against lefties this season with just a single home run. FantasyScore owners should be looking elsewhere.

Arizona Diamondbacks SS Nick Ahmed is hitting second in the order Saturday, Aug. 1, against the Houston Astros and LHP Dallas Keuchel. OF A.J. Pollock (knee) is out of the lineup, so SS Cliff Pennington will start in left field and hit ninth in the order.
Fantasy Tip: Ahmed ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is hitting .338 against left-handed pitching this season with eight walks and eight strikeouts. Ahmed is just 2-for-his-last-28, and he can be avoided against one of the league's top lefties. Pennington ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has three singles in 14 plate appearances against lefties this season, but he'll have next to no upside while at the bottom of the lineup.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock (knee) was removed from the Friday, July 31, game against the Houston Astros due to tightness behind his left knee. He is expected to miss the Saturday, Aug. 1, contest.
Fantasy Tip: Pollock ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) was removed for precautionary reasons, according to manager Chip Hale, so it sounds like this is nothing special to worry about. He could be back later in the weekend, so keep an eye on his progress.
Sat, 01 Aug 2015 04:43:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Castillo ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has recovered from a slow start to the point where he has pretty high upside in FantasyScore. He has made some recent adjustments at the plate and they do bear watching.

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Reds RP Aroldis Chapman is no longer an option for the Arizona Diamondbacks, as trade negotiations have broken down between the two teams, according to the Diamondbacks.
Fantasy Tip: Chapman will remain a high-end closer with the Reds or any other team. Though, a trade to a contender could boost his opportunities. The Houston Astros have been linked to Chapman, which projects to be an upgrade for him. Stay tuned.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Braden Shipley would be available in a package to acquire Cincinnati Reds RP Aroldis Chapman. The Diamondbacks are also willing to include one or two more of their top 10 prospects to land Chapman.
Fantasy Tip: It shows that the D-backs are very serious about trading for Chapman, who would remain an elite fantasy closer. Brad Ziegler would lose all of his fantasy value with a return to a setup role. Shipley is 8-8 with a 3.97 ERA and 1.41 WHIP at Class AA Mobile this year, so he's unlikely to be a fantasy factor for teams until at least next season.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 07:54:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It looks like there's a good chance Chapman will stay with the Reds, but stay tuned. His fantasy value as an elite closer will not change if he's traded. In fact, it may be boosted if he lands with a contender. Stash J.J. Hoover, the man expected to take over in the ninth, if you're looking for saves avenues.
